Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. My cat Moon has seemed to always have watery eyes (from birth), sometimes worse and sometimes not as bad. I have taken him to vet multiple times for inconclusive answers and no eye infections. The product is easy to use and doesn't seem to cause any discomfort in any way to my 2 dogs eyes. Seems to break up the goo "slightly" when put on cotton and gently used to clean their eyes. This product doe NOT "whiten" the eye area at all! I was hoping it would whiten as my white dog has VERY stained tear duct areas and I haven't found anything that really works! I haven't really tried too many cleaners because I do NOT want to cause discomfort or irritation to their eyes being such a very sensitive area to be cleaned. My indoor only cat has had some discharge around her eyes. Decided to try the Cliny Eye Cleaner. I used a cotton ball and wiped her eyes really good with the cleaner. This is a great product for baby kittens to clean their eyes that have infection. It seemed that all of my local stores were out of stock, and I needed this product to clean the kitty’s eyes. I ordered two bottles from Walmart last Thursday, and while tracking my product, it told me my box would arrive Saturday!! In two days!!!! I couldn’t believe it, so I withheld my comments to see when I would receive my package. Lo and behold, my package arrive in two days, on Saturday!!!! I was shocked and very happy! My poor kitty has been suffering with an eye infection which doesn't seem to heal. I think it's because he is constantly licking his paw and then rubbing it up and down his eye either because it hurts or itches. I've been putting the tetracycline gel in his eyes 3 times daily but then he runs off and starts wiping his eye with his saliva-laden paw! I am hoping this product will help to soothe his eye in order to decrease him further irritating the eye with the constant rubbing. He doesn't seem to mind it, he doesn't squirm or cry out like he does with the other drops. Your reviews gave me the courage to try this product and so far it's going well. Absolutely adorable and functionalable! I have searched to the end of the earth for small enough goggles for my mini Chihuahua! Finally found y'all. Love these doggles – they fit nicely and the adjusters are easy to make bigger or smaller so you can get a good fit for your dog. They are really good quality too! Top and bottom straps help keep them on your dog's face. I can put just about anything on my dog so these were so darn cute on her. Now she has some pink goggles to match her pink raincoat!Karen R
I bought a small pair for my shipoo for when he sticks his head out of the car window when we paddleboard. I honestly think they are precious and he doesn't seem to mind wearing them. They stay on him through all of our activities and we get constant compliments. The only issue we run into is trying to keep his hair (which is long unruly) from getting stuck between the goggle part and his eyes. I worry that he can't see because they are dark lenses I can't see in to tell if he can see out.haley.g

My bulldog's eyes has improved 90% since I have been using it. I still might have to get Cryosurgery for his eyes. not sure though if I have to mix a new solution daily or can I just use the same mixed solution until it is gone. I use the same mixed solution for a few days and made a new batch again after a few days and it seems to be okay for now. I hope I am doing it right.
My dog began to experience squinting, runny eyes and a swollen inner eye lid that through research I discovered to be called cherry eye. The swollen inner lid covered about 3/4 of his right eye. Eye drops didn't work, nor did salt water eye wash. I decided to try this product along with gentle eye massage therapy (procedure explained/displayed on various sites and on youtube). Use of this product since about 1 week, has eliminated the squinting and greatly diminished eye redness. I am continuing to use it along with the clear eye wash. Both contributing to soothing and healing. His inner eye lid problem has also been corrected through massage, a viable home alternative to surgery.
My dog doesn't mind when I put it on his eyes, so I know it is gentle. The smell is so mild you almost don't smell at all. It seems to be soothing and he knows it's to help him. I'm using the recommended diluted dose that's on the bottle, but haven't been able to get it on him 3 times a day, which would help it be more effective. Wanting to do the 3 times/day to hopefully clear up his bad eye infection that antibiotics didn't take care of. It has made his eyes less red in the short time I've been using it. Would think it would also be great for pet owners who have pets with allergies/runny eyes. The first day I used it, the runny eye part was much better overnight.
