I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. I had a non itchy rash that started in a small area and spread over my torso and down my inner thigh. I was prescribed an antifungal cream which I used and did absolutely nothing. My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. Went out one morning and caught a glimpse of what looked like a little scratch on my horses eye. Upon inspection the eye itself was untouched but the eyelid was cut about an inch long from the back corner towards the front. I cleaned it and figured I would just leave it alone. The next morning it was itchy and irritating her and REALLY swollen. This product helped me when my dog had an eye wart. The vet said it did not need to be removed until it got to the point that he was scratching at it or it started to affect his vision. The manufacturer sells the product in 1 gram (small dog), 2 gram (medium dog), and 4 gram (large dog) sizes. Each package contains 3 packets to be given over 3 days. In order to get the correct amount for your dog's weight, you may need to order more than one package. According to the manufacturers instructions, you need to administer one gram of product (daily) for every ten pounds of animal weight. So, up to: 10 lbs = 1 gram; 20 lbs = 2 grams; 30 lbs = 3 grams; 40 lbs = 4 grams; 50 lbs = 5 grams; 60 lbs = 6 grams, etc. So, if your dog weighs 11 to 20 lbs, you need to order a 2 gram (medium dog) size and give him 1 packet per day for 3 days. A puppy was pretty much dropped in my lap several days ago, her belly was SO bloated as she hadn't had any vet care prior. Before even getting her home I pondered the wormers at our local Petco, selected this one. On day 3 the worms came out, though her poor bloated belly was reduced after the first day. Will use this again if worming can't wait for the vet. Due to her weight we did have to weigh out the medicine (half a gram ='s 1/4 teaspoon), and you must have an accurate weight on the dog and an accurate measuring device for it to be as effective as it can be without giving too much. The product works great, however read this carefully to determine the quantity to order, the website is misleading. The manufacturer sells the product in 1 gram (small dog), 2 gram (medium dog), and 4 gram (large dog) sizes. Each package contains 3 packets to be given over 3 days. In order to get the correct amount for your dog's weight, you may need to order more than one package. According to the manufacturers instructions, you need to administer one gram of product (daily) for every ten pounds of animal weight. So, up to: 10 lbs = 1 gram; 20 lbs = 2 grams; 30 lbs = 3 grams; 40 lbs = 4 grams; 50 lbs = 5 grams; 60 lbs = 6 grams, etc. So, if your dog weighs 11 to 20 lbs, you need to order a 2 gram (medium dog) size and give him 1 packet per day for 3 days. But if your dog weighs 21-30 lbs, you need to order a 1 gram (small dog) AND a 2 gram (medium dog) package, and give your dog a packet from each size for 3 days. A puppy was pretty much dropped in my lap several days ago, her belly was SO bloated as she hadn't had any vet care prior. Before even getting her home I pondered the wormers at our local Petco, selected this one. On day 3 the worms came out, though her poor bloated belly was reduced after the first day. Will use this again if worming can't wait for the vet. Due to her weight we did have to weigh out the medicine (half a gram ='s 1/4 teaspoon), and you must have an accurate weight on the dog and an accurate measuring device for it to be as effective as it can be without giving too much. I have a mare who has super sensitive skin. She was out to pasture in the spring and before I could notice the gnats got to her belly and it was bad. Gave this to my one year old cat and within an hour she started vomiting, she rapidly got worse and started having tremors, brought her to the vet and they said she had ingested something toxic but couldn’t see anything obvious either in vomit or blood or urine, I informed them of the wormer and all he had to say was well we used to use that but don’t anymore, 5 days later she died. My poodle has a lot of ear hair that needs to be cleaned often. In between baths, the smell can get kinda funky. Used this ear rinse to see if it would help and it does. It keeps the waxy smell away longer but it's not mask any existing smells. It's easy enough to use and my dog doesn't seem to mind it too much. I would definitely keep using this product since it keeps the freshness in between baths and if it helps prevent ear infections. Other products have a smell and my dogs walk around smelling like it after getting their ears cleaned. I thought this product will be the long waited answer to my poor dog who has been suffering from hot spots and endless discomfort with allergy. I followed exact directions with a very small amount formulated in his food. His body immediately reacted to this product so badly with loose and very dark stool. My 11 yr old aussie mix Mary was diagnosed with Diffuse gastric cancer in September. This is better than pricey vet shampoo! I say this because our 3 year old lab mix is sensitive to the season changes and with that being said he has quite a few hotspots throughout the year. We went to the vet the very first time it happened and received some allergy meds. Now they did work in the long run (we had to give them to him for about two weeks) but it didn’t necessarily help his skin—the itching, scratching, and biting. We have had Vetoquinol medicated shampoo in the past but it’s so expensive, anywhere from $25-$35 a bottle. So I did some research on medicated shampoos and came across this one. I was skeptic because it is on the cheaper end and you know how that sometimes goes haha. Needless to say I’ve never actually had a product cost less than half the price and do what a name brand does. It cleared up his skin in a few days (using it twice a week) until the spots were gone although he did get relief the very first time we bathed him in it; which is such a wonderful thing to witness when your dog is visibly struggling. Just please don’t stop making this product and carrying it Walmart!!! We depend on it!!! So sorry I don’t have before and after photos for you to see for yourself but just buy it, you will not be disappointed plus it will save you SO much money.
My dog has been having such problems with his skin, super itchy and has always been very sensitive. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. Snout Soother is an absolutely amazing product. I took my boy to his veterinarian because his nose was so cracked and always bleeding. They told me he had old man nose and to try to keep putting vitamin E cream on it. I tried that and there was no change and I was so discouraged because I couldn't help him. Then one day I decided to look his symptoms up and the Natural Dog Company popped up with the product Snout Soother. I had nothing to lose so I ordered the product. The day it arrived I applied it to my boy's nose and within an hour I was feeling and seeing visible results. I continued to apply the product a few times per day for approximately a week and now his nose is completely healed. I never thought that would happen. i now apply the product once a day to keep his nose moisturized. I would not hesitate to recommend Snout Soother. In fact, we just ha a recent visit with the veterinarian and they were highly impressed and asked me what I had been using. So I have a beabull, mostly English bulldog. He’s a 7/8 mix. Out of nowhere his cute little black nose started getting crusty and cracked. I waited a while and it didn’t let up. A friend said there was nothing you could do but I found this online. I didn’t think it would work but we are on day four and his nose is DRASTICALLY improved. He hates when I put it on (he does that with everything ever though) so I have to put some peanut butter on a spoon and have him lick it after I apply it to his nose or he’ll just lick it right off his nose. But once he’s done with his PB, the snout soother has seeped in enough he can lick it and it doesn’t really matter. Thank you guys for this! I will be buying more and trying more of your products. I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day.
