This is the best ear cleanser I have found for my dogs itchy ears. Her ears aren’t dirty but she always seems to have itchy ears. When she starts dragging her ears on the carpet I use this and it relives the itch. The greasy Animax, I think is the name, that the vets have given for her, never gets rid of her itchy ear infection. She has allergies too so I’m sure that has a lot to do with her poor ears. My German Shepard had recurrent ear infections for over a year. At first it was once a month, then twice, and it ended up with painful inflammations every week with pus discharges and bad smell. That was terrible, nothing helped, antibiotics prescribed by vet stopped the process for some days, but afterwards everything was back again, and internal antibiotics made my dog weak. Then we found out that this was not a bacterial infection, it was fungi! But we could not find any efficient remedies against it. We used oregano oil and similar herbs internally, but they helped also only for a while. Then I found out information about Zymox and ordered it, that was our last hope. The first time I cleaned my dogs ears with Zymox, it smelled awfully. The next day the smell was not so bad, and after some other days there were no smell at all… We used it as indicated, 14 days, but already after 7 days my dog recovered. It is 10 months from then now, and there is no more any sign of ear problems…. I am SO grateful that someone has developed such an efficient product and there is a possibility to order it from abroad. I can't imagine where we would be now if there were no Zymox….Helen

But they were itchy and smelly and he had gotten sores on the tips of them from flapping them into things, He was miserable, I was miserable. Ordered this product after doing research online for what I was SURE was an ear infection in our American bulldog, but was hesitant to get another large vet bill after a recent eye injury that left us $500 in the hole. One of our cats had polyps removed from one of his ears a couple of years ago. His ear has remained sensitive and vulnerable to infection. I was using Epi-Otic to clean his ear. It was somewhat effective but really stressed my cat. The Ark Naturals lotion is gentler and more effective. His ears are inflamed. IMO, design needs improvement: Instructions say to use 5-10 drops, but bottle has flat, wide flip lid. Drops come out big and fast – not cat friendly at all. I've used this product for several years on my dog and three cats. It's all natural ingredients….no harsh chemicals. I pour about two ounces into an empty eyedropper bottle and warm it for a few minutes before putting into their ears. They don't mind it because it doesn't burn their ears like the stuff from the vet does. It gets rid of ear mites and yeast infections with just a couple of treatments. Ark used to have a neat "spout" applicator on the top of the bottle, but how it's just a big awkward squirt top that goes everywhere. I have four dogs, the most recent being a Saint Bernard. While I knew floppy eared dogs had more of a risk of ear infections, I didn't really think a Saint Bernard's ears were that floppy. Well after two ear infections that I went to the veterinarian for meds, I talked to a longtime Saint Bernard owner who said they keep their own personal supply of ear meds on hand. So I started searching…I read nothing but great reviews about this product, so I purchased. Once it arrived, conveniently my Saint Bernard had started to develop that ear funk smell and redness. Our little Yorkie has been battling severe ear itching/scratching, and general "unrest" for a couple of months now. Our vet gave her several cytokine injections (thought it might be allergy related) to no avail. We also tried a few rounds of antibiotic therapy. The bottle says it could stain (it's purple in color). She is a blonde, but it didn't stain her hair. I first applied it with a cotton ball. It clean instantly. Our poor pup was holding his ear down and scratching at it. We took a look and it was GROSS in there (lots of black stuff). We thought he might have had an infection but after doing research that didn't seem to be the case, especially since he was not in any pain. I had seen this in the stores, but thanks to the pandemic it was no where to be found locally. I placed the order and after it arrived we started using it. We would apply 3-4 drops in the affected ear, rub the base of the ear (watch some videos online to get an idea what to do) then let him shake his head. Two days later we did it again, but this time put the drops on a cotton ball and using a scoop motion were able to pull a lot of gunk out of his outer-ear. We kept this up for about two weeks (we wanted to take it easy and hence the natural ingredient option instead of the stuff with chemicals) and he is such a happy dog with incredibly clean ears! We had to drop off one star because the bottle is very hard to squeeze and so getting just a few drops out can be difficult. That adds to the difficulty of placing 3-4 drops in the ear of a squirmy 50 lb dog!
