I want to add before I start my review that I no longer use Burt’s Bees products because I wanted something stronger for my dogs. I also originally bought this product with the intention of using it for one of my dog’s dry skin. With that being said I have a miniature poodle with severe allergies that caused him to scratch at himself until he was bleeding and scratched off the skin in multiple location on his body. He is now medicated and is a lot better with the correct products. This product did help with his allergies minimally but did help his over all coat a lot. His coat was soft and shiny after using the product and after a few weeks his dry skin that was caused by a previous product was much better. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. I have ordered this for my 10 yo Labrador that has had skin issues all her life. Yeast is the latest problem, even though she's on a species appropriate diet she has occasional issues. I was a little skeptical about this product as it didnt have any reviews, never the less I went ahead and bought it anyway. It was easy enough to apply to my 6 month old kitten, he didnt put up that much of a fuss with my spraying it on him and rubbing it in, and I was also very surprised that he didnt start going crazy afterwards like other anti itch products I had used before, causing stinging and irritation. Also doesnt leave a lingering pesticide smell either, but rather smells quite pleasant. The directions are very vague for product usage given the inclusion of tea tree oil. Can it be used 2-3 times a day when your dog is scratching or should it be used once a day? Also should it be used on open wounds? And what about licking? Should my dog where the cons of shame once I have sprayed him with the product? I got this spray at my local small business pet store (Carter's Pet Mart in Stockton, CA) because he's prone to itchy skin when the weather gets hot. It cost $6.99 and they had a multitude of other scents and sprays for various needs. I've always liked how tea tree oil smells so I knew it would also help his coat and skin smell better after he came in from being outdoors. I like to spray it on his coat and then use his coat brush to work it in. He doesn't seem to mind it and his itching had subsided a bit. It's made with all natural ingredients and the company is based in SF.

We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. We also have him the salmon treats daily. I believe this product helped him regain his health. His color came back and all the scales and itching were gone. So I bought another. My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. Since I started using this shampoo his dandruff has disappeared completely as well! Overall, I definitely recommend this! The slight smell is definitely worth it for the results!capers01
Very best natural shampoo on the market.
