These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.

I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

had the 2 collar set and ordered a 2nd remote shortly following. one of the collars has already stopped working. upon inspection, I found water damage inside the cover and the circuit board has corrosion all over. I am looking for another better, stronger shocking collar. my pups are stubborn. they already didn't grab the dog's attention, and to curb aggressive behavior, I need this while they are young. suggestions on better waterproof, and stronger shock please and am I stuck with these?Brandon

I bought these for a young German Shepherd and a young yellow lab. The lab responds well to the vibrate for now. But the shock on 99 (highest level) doesn’t phase her no matter how tight the collar is. She doesn’t even respond to the vibrate. She has been trained on other collars. This one does nothing to her. The lab is responding to the vibrate for now. But we will see how well it sticks. If you want a quality collar this is not it. I guess it’s what I get for going with a cheaper collarAli

It is simple and easy to get started. Distance is accurate. If puppy/ dog has thick fur definitely have to unlock static levels. Vibrate only one level no to slight response viewd with our dog thick fur. Battery life not best, no off switch for remote, and you can only do 2 choices quickly (tone and vibrate or tone and static) only negatives. We use tone and static due to our dogs thick fur/ response.WMA6

I bought the 300 yard lite about 2 months ago for my 1 yr old Springer spaniel who is a little shy and very sensitive to corrections yet loves to bark at the neighbors. He usually stays in yard but does wander to neighbors on occasion to bark at them. Underground fencing not a good option for me so I tried this device. Wow it’s amazing! I trained him on our boundaries and recall with lots of praise and have only had to use the tone and vibration modes. The barking and preoccupation with neighbors has decreased substantially. We have had this PetSafe 300 for a couple of years now. It most definitely works in the 300 yard area. It is also very tough! It has survived several playful Corgis, and is now on a very rambunctious German Shepard. We really like the many selections you have with this trainer, from low to high. The hand held remote battery seems to last forever between charges, but the collar not so long. We seem to only get two days worth out of a charge at the most, which is why I can't give it a full 5 star rating. I would give it 4.5 starts if that was possible. Overall we would definitely buy again. We are looking to get another collar so the other can charge while one is on the rambunctiously large German Shepard puppy. I say puppy.. She's like 75lbs!!! I purchased this one as I wanted a wireless version vs the perimeter one I had to bury. We use this when we go fishing as well as around the house. We have only had to use the continuous shock once at level 2. The tone works so well we dont really need the other features but we have them just in case, our dog decides to be really stubborn in the future. My favorite is how easy it is to use, charge and the fact the tone is the best way to get my dog's attention. It has not taken long for him to know the remote goes to his collar and that just showing him he knows to heel or the tone sound will come on and get his attention quickly. My sister is purchasing one as well since my purchase, as she has seen how much it has helped our strong willed dog. He just needed a little extra guidance for his safety as we live off a highway and next to woods with coyotes. Really enjoy the simplicity of the collar and remote. My only wish is that the vibrate setting was higher, our deaf American bully doesn't respond to the vibrate setting very well. Literally bought this as my second attempt first was a petsafe wireless fence and it wasn’t as user friendly as this petsport with a remote. I’m able to keep basic corrections in house and outside in the yard! I was worried it wouldn’t be small enough for my mini Heeler but the collar comes with an abundant amount of holes for proper fit on anything ! Supper pleased with the collar and the three bases it has for training. The beep tone the one hit simulation and the longer hit stimulation gives me theee options to ask my dog according to what she’s doing. I like that it can be supper mild and allow her the chance to be asked nicely and then reinforced mildly and then reinforcement with a sterner setting. A true life saver. My pup was running out to the neighbors across the street and up to meet cars it literally only took thirty mins in house training on basics and then outside yard training for a little under an hour! I am now no longer stressed about her getting hurt she comes right back to me and treats me as I am her safe spot! Product initially worked well. Combination of tone, vibration, and shock works well for training. My golden retriever responded well. Unfortunately the second time I went to charge the collar, the connection between the collar and the charger would not make contact. I chatted with cabelas and asked if they could send me a new charger dongle and they said I wanted that option I would need to work directly with Garmin. They gave me the option to return by mail, but I didn't want to be without the collar for that long. Instead I drove to the store to exchange it but they did not have the model available in the store. I returned it at the store and ordered a replacement on line. I bought this collar about a year ago, and it is still just as effective and powerful today. This has all of the capabilities I need for training and enjoying my time with my dog. With the multi-collar functionality, it’s also great for people who own multiple dogs as you would just need a new collar and program it to a different color code switch. My dog can go swimming, get dirty, muddy, get hosed off, and the collar still works like a charm. I am extremely impressed. We bought this a couple months ago! Best investment we ever made! Our dog doesn't like the neighbours dog and would bark like crazy every time he was out in the yard. put the ecollar on him and only had to use the shock button a couple times and it stopped the bad behaviour in its tracks! Love it! The only thing I noticed was the collar became unpaired from the remote after we took him to the lake to swim. Worked great kept my chihuahua in the yard after only a few days of training. the sad part is we had him finally trained to stay in the yard wo a lead and a neighbors pit (one of 4) dug under their fence and attacked him & me. Although he survived The initial attack (and the shock collar survived as well as it was bitten off & scratched but still works) my dog died a week later from complications before surgery. Now i wish Id let him run out of the yard, hed obviously have been safer. Still a great item worked great and it wasnt the collars fault. Id recommend this item to someone even w an older dog. This works great on my Pomeranian. I needed something to keep him from running into the road, onto the school bus with my kids, or into the neighbors yards. I don't even have to use the shock setting, the vibrate setting on 80-100 works wonders. He now comes when I call him without me having to use it. The only negative thing about this collar is that you have to pair it every time you recharge it, and one time I forgot. Definitely worth the money.Winter

This is an effective tool to train your dog with options to not have to shock the dog unnecessarily. The collar has a good range as my dog has come running back from 4 houses down on the first day when we used it the first time. It has a beep warning that has been very effective in the training process. As soon as my dog hears that beep it stops and sits. It also has a vibration that I use instead of the shock that is very effective. It has an intensity level that can be set. My dog is small and this product has changed his future as I know he would have eventually gotten hit by a car because he could get through small spaces in the gate.chris-dgfi3nhbs

I have two Neapolitan mastiffs. One is 190lvs and the other is 170lbs, male and female. We ha e a large property but lots of other houses around, no one has fences including us. While everybody else's dogs are tied up on chains outside, our two big dogs get to roam free along our property because of these collars. Keeps them super happy and all the other dogs are jealous! I didn't think it would work because they are so big. My male weighs as much as a human man, but they only tested at one time at each boundary line and they've never gone back.they can run full speed to our property line and they know when to stop. it doesn't matter if people walk by or other dogs go by, they don't bother with them. Our dog is so happy with this collar! We have a very busy vizsla and I was worried about how the shock collar would effect his personality (he’s such an emotional dog), but after a week of training multiple times per day with the kids I don’t even have to put the shock on! Collar has been replaced twice in 6 years. Each time because the plastic housing cracks and crumbles. This replacement from Petsafe lasted ~ 16-17 months (actually less – I’ve been nursing the pieces along). This time, the o-ring groove on the INSIDE of the housing cover has popped out and literally crumbled. Not very old at all, not exposed to weather, UV, or abuse. Maybe 4th battery change since new. I have two dogs and this has a separate button for each dog. No more pressing a button to switch between dogs. Love it! Mine does not say Einstein on it 🙁 but it's well made product. I've had it for a month or so and haven't had to recharge the batteries yet. Very happy with it so far.Jimbo

The on-line Walmart experience was as good as the best service there is, and much better than most. Ordered on Wednesday, at my door on Friday. Free shipping. The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus

I have had the collar only a few days and so far it has met every expectation. We had a more expensive name brand training collar before this one which my dog somehow removed and chewed to oblivion. Rather than spend over $150 to replace it I wanted to try out a cheaper alternative in the likely event he ruins another one in the future. He had already been familiar with a training collar so going to this one was no problem. I like having a beep tone as well as a vibrate warning before having to go with a full on shock. I have so far only had the use the warning tone which is nice and loud on this collar and the pup recognizes it right away. It seems to have decent distance, have not tested the claimed 330 yards yet though. For the price it is a great unit with nice features. The more expensive one we had before was much more robust but I didnt expect this to be built the same for 1/5th the price, with that said it is built well, surprisingly well for the money honestly. Have not tested the waterproof ability yet as we dont live near water but it looks like it should be fine to get wet without issue. Battery life seems good so far, going on several days without a recharge but we dont use it all day either. Overall I am so far satisfied with it, I would recommend this toanyone who wants an inexpensive training collar but I dont expect it to last for years like the other one we had.kerr8719

Tested on an open field with the collar in line of sight, the range is roughly 150 feet. That said, I strongly doubt if any of the other e-collars can do much better without extraordinary antennas. Here in the US the transmitting power of devices like this is severely limited by law, so the only way to get more range than the competition is to have more prominent antennas. This collar delivers on a 2 year old high drive, 78 pound, male doberman. I used the shock once at 30 and it definitively got a yelp and the dog's attention. Since then the "vibrate" mode is effective enough. Most of the time we use the collar to stop barking at the window, The dog barks we say "quiet" and if, and only "if", the dog immediately barks again he gets a "vibrate". He seems to avoid barking immediately after a "quiet" command. Now the challenge is to extend the time he doesn't bark for at least 30 seconds after a "quiet" commend. Our second and very infrequent application is open field recalls. For that I'd dearly love an electric collar with a 100 yard range, but even this collar's 50 yard range is helpful. Using an e-collar in an open field is a tricky business. What seems to work is to put the collar away until you have a good recall without distractions. Even 10 feet in a hallway or tennis court teaches you and your dog how to do a recall that ends with the beast sitting nicely in front of you and getting a tasty reward. Never repeat your recall command even if it means constantly dragging the animal back until it figures our what you expect. What the e-collar is then useful for is dealing with distractions — another dog, an annoying squirrel or even sniffing a bit of chicken soup spilled nearby. Issue your recall command and look for that momentary hesitation when the animal decides to ignore you and hit the e-collar to remind the beast that you just gave a command. Any other timing and the animal has no clue and would just as easily take off in the opposite direction to get away from the unwelcome stimulation. One feature I miss is a combination tone/shock. I'd tried a few different things to curb my dog's barking but nothing had worked. I chose this model based on the 'Bark Collars by Breed' chart and then rang the 0800 number to get further advice. The guy I spoke to could not have been more helpful. It's a pretty expensive purchase but I felt really confident that I wouldn't be throwing more money down the drain after speaking to him. My Boston Terrier of 9 years never barked in her life. We got a rescue and those days are over. Now she barks at everything, even more than the rescue. I bought an inferior product that didn’t work at all. So I invested in the Barkless 504. Well she will bark through the stimulation, even with the longer sensors and set to the highest L9. It does seem she barks a little less, but she definitely barks through the collar stimulation. I’m not over joyed by the function of this collar but it seems to be the best there is.Penny R

This collar did not work properly. It would do static correction when my dog was quiet and the bark counter didn't even register a single bark when he was barking like crazy. I tried to get it to work properly for 3 days before returning for a refund (that I had to pay shipping for both ways). It was very disappointing, especially when I was told 'there was nothing wrong with the collar'. (Yes, it was fitted correctly.) This collar is no good for very fluffy dogs. I'd suggest getting a collar with a microphone instead of vibration sensor for fluffy dogs.Rheannon D.

We have a golden retriever that we have tried to train, but unfortunately she remains completely out of control. We decided to try a chock collar as a last resort and decided on this one because the specs seemed really good for the price. It has worked so great. We are still in the process of training, but having this reinforces what we are teaching her and we are finally seeing progress! We are planning on getting a second dog when we are feeling like we have this one under control, so having two separate shock collars that can both be controlled by one remote will be really convenient! absolute junk! I domt know how they claim this is water proof when tape is used on the connection board inside the housing of the collar. I have no idea what it was securing, but I suspect it had something to do with when the unit is being charged. I have 2 chihuahua's and even at level 30 they didn't respond. I only used it for a short while and put it away for winter. When I tried to use it again just recently in the spring I discovered the units didn't work. I guess the scotch tape lost its adhesiveness I bought a pet safe system and level one gave me the result I needed.martha

This really worked awesome. I have a 3 year old golden retriever who constantly barked all day and night. Neighbors called animal control about the barking and they came to our home and warned us. Then a week or two later that neighbor came over and knocked at the door. Said his family was up all night because of the barking.. our dog barked at anything and went ballistic when spotting another dog or cat… We thought there was no hope. So we bought this collar and within two days (using the vibration ~ Not shock) he has completely stopped barking. It has been amazing. I would recommend this to anyone having similar problems. We use the collar to curb excessive barking from our 65 lb German Shepherd mix. We start with vibrate as a warning and if needed go to shock. (Lowest setting works fine for us) I also tested the shock on myself and though unpleasant, was not painful. After about two or three warning vibrate to shock transitions, our dog has learned the sequence of events. Rarely do we need to go to shock anymore. The warning vibrate curbs the barking. My only complaints are that the vibrate and shock buttons are too similar and I feel the potential to accidently press them is high. Also, there is a small beep with every button press that I could do without. Long story short… If this one breaks, I'll probably reorder the exact same one.scooter5.9

This little e-collar does everything it should do, it is small enough I used it on my 10 pound poodle. She thought she was going to chase the cat and by mistake (my fault) I hit the shock button instead of vibrate, she did get a good shock as it was set on 20 but she now can be stopped from even thinking of chasing a cat or chicken. I only need the vibrate with her, and she only needed the collar for about a week she just needed to know I could reach out and touch her even at a distance. I would like to add,she knew her commands consistently on leash before the collar was used A few months latter I know have a different opinion. I cannot get it to keep a charge, five minutes tops,, I wish it had a some interior battery to change so it would charge again. My newest thought is I would not buy again. Bottom line is: it has to work more than just a month to get a good scoremilliemilkface

We have a Border Colley, that was a year old when we got him from a couple the that had gave up training him. He is very intelligent to intelligent for his own good, he would sneak off and bother the neighborhood and neighborhood animals. After using this collar 3 days the audio and vibrant is all needed after stocked one time. He doesn't even try to run off unless in his house collar, As soon as he feels the training collar on he turn into a different dog. We had actually talked about considering re-homeing Him ourselves this collar was going to be our last attempt to keep him. Before search for him a new suitable home with hundreds of acres rather than our small 10 acres , our closest neighbors our about 300 and 500yrds though heavy timber the collar works great at that distance have used it up to about 600-800 yrd across open field that's about as far as clear line of sight we have or need it to work for our needs works wonderful. We would have paid 10X the amount ask after using it the very first time. Rather than all the searching , driving around neighborhood looking half the night for a run away Fast moving Pet. PS, we have mode (A) set to lowest settings, mode (B) set to medium settings, mode (A/B) set to maximum settings. We have never had to use anything otherthan mode (A) so far, don't see ever needing any more for Him.hunterjenkinsjr

Purchased this collar from Chow Down pet supplies. It had absolutely zero effect on my dog. He completely ignored whatever sound was coming from the device. I threw this away and got a much pricier static correction collar that has customizable settings. No comparison, much more effective… don't waste your money on cheap pet safe products.D Cooper

When I first got my puppy at 6 months old he would constantly bark. I was told at the store this is not a very good bark training collar, but if I wanted something inexpensive to try it and if it didn’t work I could return it. I was then hesitate that it didn’t work, but still tried it and loved it! Every time he barked you could see the light flash on it. 1 downfall is the collar can be easily rotated around the neck no matter how tight you have it if the scratches at it. It needs to be kept in the front of the dogs neck, and as high up the neck as possible. So you have to keep adjusting it, but I also found it shocks them if they are doing something they aren’t supposed to, and when you yell loudly at them it shocks them as well. So it serves a multipurpose of bark control, and obedience. I only had to use it on my dog for less than a week, and he stopped the constant barking, chewing, and was 100% more obedient! I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on training collars, or bark collars! Worked great!Lauj

my dog can’t even shake his head without getting a correction. Almost any sound cause him to get a correction so it is scary and confusing for him. It would be nice if there was a sensitivy adjustment but the collar as designed is not helpful. The average bark of a dog compared to the sounds that are setting this off are not the same and all will cause the dog anxiety due to the false stimulations.Heather52

The best Bark collar I have seen ever. I repair tech products and can see quality in this device. However, my dog completely ignores it. My dog is an English Shepherd breed, with strong herding instincts that completely override the noise and the shocks. Sorry guys. I am sure other dogs may comply. Not for my breed, but for smaller less energetic dogs, I am sure there would be some compliance. Is it good value? If it works for your dog then yes it would be – but for my breed no. Finally, I found the perfect system for my needs. have two dogs on the collar for walking. I walk them in the woods and sometimes they'll run off to chase something. I use the collar to keep them in check but still allow them to run. I've tried three other training collars and my issues with all were- 1. I had to re-connect the collars to the transmitter after each recharge. 2. Switching quickly between the dogs took too many steps to switch. 3- The range of them were not as advertised. This system solves everyone of those issues. It's the best one I've found that has no programming after charge. The charge last longer. No 9v battery required to transmitter. The range, even in the woods is excellent. Switching the transmitter to each dog is very very simple.pinballace

It does well indoors and outdoors without buildings or sheds or trailers or any type of obstruction. I tested the distance and it worked up to 130 yards and then lost ability to connect. Great quality in material and workmanship.swank1625

Only thing I can say is I havent even owned for 6 months and have had issues with my remote twice now first time it was simple fix but same thing happened again only this time seems like remote is really done for but collars and everything great I liked em a lotsti_blakely15
