First of all I have a very heavy 180 gallon tank that's up against the wall. So the only way to install this background is to completely empty my tank and remove all my fish so I can move the tank away from the wall to acess the back. I purchase this background assuming that it will include everything I need to install the product. So I sprayed it with water from a spray bottle and smoothed it out with a squeegy as directed. It looked great when finished so I put the tank back in place and filled it back up with water and fish. The next day it absolutely looked AWFUL. It started to bubble and peel off and was filled with scratches. So I wasted a whole day of work emptying, moving and filling my tank because the directions failed to tell me that IT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT THE GEL. Now I'm stuck with a huge tank in my living room that have bubbles and scratches until I find time to fix it without stressing out my fish. This seed is great! I only buy from this site and Wild Birds Unlimited. I find the quality between the two to be equivalent. I buy from whomever offers the lower price. Although, I have to say I prefer the packaging from Drs. Foster and Smith, so sometimes I buy from here even if it's a little more. I always buy in bulk, which usually means I'm stuck lugging around giant packages. If you buy seed in bulk from Drs. F&S they send you the quantity you wanted, but in much smaller individual bags. With this collar i was able to train my hunting dog to have 100 percent recall in all situations, in a handful of sessions. My previous yard collar did not have enough range. I also bought the beeper which is useful in heavy cover. The charging system makes the collar absolutely waterproof which is good. And when the dial broke in the field it was a friendly two minute phonecall to Sportdog to have a new transmitter on its way to me.

I purchased this one as I wanted a wireless version vs the perimeter one I had to bury. We use this when we go fishing as well as around the house. We have only had to use the continuous shock once at level 2. The tone works so well we dont really need the other features but we have them just in case, our dog decides to be really stubborn in the future. My favorite is how easy it is to use, charge and the fact the tone is the best way to get my dog's attention. It has not taken long for him to know the remote goes to his collar and that just showing him he knows to heel or the tone sound will come on and get his attention quickly. My sister is purchasing one as well since my purchase, as she has seen how much it has helped our strong willed dog. He just needed a little extra guidance for his safety as we live off a highway and next to woods with coyotes. Literally bought this as my second attempt first was a petsafe wireless fence and it wasn’t as user friendly as this petsport with a remote. I’m able to keep basic corrections in house and outside in the yard! I was worried it wouldn’t be small enough for my mini Heeler but the collar comes with an abundant amount of holes for proper fit on anything ! Supper pleased with the collar and the three bases it has for training. The beep tone the one hit simulation and the longer hit stimulation gives me theee options to ask my dog according to what she’s doing. The 435 X series is really nice and has a small remote control that fits into my hand (I am only 5'4). The XS series is stronger (for large dogs that can be stubborn) and was too much for my need… that's why I really wanted the X series. The 825 X is the same as the 425 X except is has a longer distance reach (1/2 mile) but the remote is a little big bigger. Works great…. make sure you read the manual for the different settings and understand that this is not a training tool per say but a corrective tool (meaning your dog has to know and understand commands BEFORE using it)…Do NOT use as a punitive tool. The nice thing is this item allows you to choose either tone, vibration, or static mode. 99% of the time I only need to use vibration for my dog to get his attention (he cN get sobfocused on a scent that he doesn't pay attention to my commands). He sometimes takes off after a rabbit/wild pig etc. and that's when I have to use the static mode to quickly get his attention away from his chase. I really like that it is waterproof (my dog swims into ponds and rivers)…some other brands claim to be waterproof but really mean to say water resistant! I have tried everything I knew with this dog, built a relationship with him, treats, toys, praise and I wasn’t able to find anything that would motivate him to actually follow the commands that I knew he knew. I was afraid to use a “shock collar” because I thought it was going to be cruel but it had been 5 months where this 3 year old pit was with me and there seemed to be no progress. I ended up buying this and I charged it up like they said. I then tried it on myself first. I was very surprised, it reminded me of a tens machine that the chiropractor uses, not what I thought it was going to be at all. These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.
I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

Four months ago we picked up a 3 year old yellow lab at a shelter near Denver. The dog is lovable, has had some hunting experience, but was WILD when we got him. It was necessary to keep him tethered at all times, or he was GONE for 20 minutes pursuing some scent in the nearby forest (we back up to public land). I purchased this device in the hopes I could control him. To my surprise I discovered he must have had some time with a similar device. He instantly responded to the Tone/Vibration mode. When he would start to take off, one tap on that mode made him instantly come back. Only if he chased a deer on hikes did I have to "tingle" him a little. He would immediately drop the chase. I bought the sport dog 425x for my lab a few months ago & loved it but it recently fell off him while we were walking on a trail and I was never able to find it. Does not work at 100 yards as advertised. I bought this because I have a big yard and the invisible fences do not offer a big enough range for my dog to roam. I bought this trainer because of the 100 yard range it claimed to have, thinking I could give my dog more room to play and run. My house sets about 80 yards off the road in front of our house. I have tried several times to correct my from the house before he gets to the road and it would not work.I have to be with-in 30 yards of my dog before it works. I have a crazy dog that is a Lab-Pointer. He was the worse in his puppy class. I have trained dogs before, big dogs and hunting dogs. This guy doesn’t get it! He gets the trading collar though. I have had this for months. I only shocked him once. I rarely “ buzz” him on a low vibrational mode to stop unwanted behaviors like over exuberant jumping on visitors. It works. I have the upland hunting version, partly for locating the dog in thick brush, same brand. Both are very helpful. I have always been apprehensive of shock collars, but my dog was back-tracking on her training. She has always behaved very well on a leash, just to forget that training when the leash comes off. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

I've tried several of these collars but my main issue has always been that they would need batteries every few days and the batteries were really expensive. This one is rechargeable – both the collar and the remote. I also love that it has the vibration feature so I can warn my dog before I actually have to "shock" her. So far since we've had it, she's only been shocked twice. She is a completely changed dog. We went from a dog who jumped up on me when I came in the house, barked at every person walking by and chased the cats incessantly to a very well behaved dog who now does none of those things. We rarely ever even have to use the stimulation. The product seems very sturdy and the remote is very colorful and bigger than most others so it never gets lost. It has a lanyard so you can wear it around your neck but that is somewhat awkward for me. I love this collar and company! The collar itself is very durable and handles lots of play from my 70lb pit mix (she wears a Large but I adjust it down so it fits more snug). The different light modes are really nice, and we use it every day (especially handy in the winter when both morning and evening walks are in the dark!). Super easy to turn on & off, and to charge with the USB cord. It is NOT waterproof, but will tolerate rain and other water as long as it isn't submerged. When mine had an issue, I emailed the company and they sent a replacement within a week, free of charge. I can't recommend this collar enough!!Jessie Marie

The High Tech Pet (BT-3) Bark Collar is amazing. They have developed a way to tell the difference between a Protective Bark, a Nuisance Bark and a Howling Bark. The collar is capable of stopping all (3) types of barking or which ever type you want to eliminate. WE want our dog to protect us so we turn that mode off.Tone Only, Shock Only or a combination of both. The collar starts out with a mild stimulus and will increase as barking continues. The best Bark collar I have seen ever. I repair tech products and can see quality in this device. However, my dog completely ignores it. My dog is an English Shepherd breed, with strong herding instincts that completely override the noise and the shocks. Sorry guys. I am sure other dogs may comply. The above Rating answer options don't really allow me to be nice . . . so read this! Can I recommend it? Not for my breed, but for smaller less energetic dogs, I am sure there would be some compliance. Is it good value? If it works for your dog then yes it would be – but for my breed no.
