After doing much research on the many different Ecollars, I chose this one based on other reviews. I needed something to aid in training my pit bull puppy (10 months old) he constantly tries to get into things that don't belong to him. I put the collar on him, whenever he tried to get into something, I would start with the tone button, if he continued, I would use the shock option. We have found we have no need to go past number 4 on the settings. This product has definitely helped us significantly to be able to enjoy our pet more instead of chasing him around the house. we have a VERY stubborn 3yr old English Bulldog. I couldn't do dishes without him slamming the dishwasher shut, couldn't carry a laundry basket without him trying to knock it out of my hands by hitting the bottom, couldn't vacuum without him attacking it, and he would go after ANYTHING that would fall on the ground and never give it back. I was so excited to try this on my dog because there’s nothing else I’ve done has worked. I loved the range of size the collar goes. I also loved that the button is on the inside so the dog would not be able to accidentally turn it off(no it doesnt zap your hand)lol. We have used E-Collars on our dogs for years. There is a proper technique to using one and when used properly they aren't inhumane or cruel. This series of SportDog items are more user friendly being rechargeable rather than requiring frequent battery changes. Our dogs respond well to the collars and the SportDog in-ground fence system. We've been happy w/ the quality of their products and their longevity. The right choice for my American Standard Bulldogs The regular belt buckle type was wanted as they do not work loose. A bit heavy however this is required to accept the 9 volt battery I have 3 all bought at the same time All do not "turn on with tester used " until #2 setting. 0 does not register nor does #1 However #2 does not seem to zippy. I'll first start by saying I never do reviews. However I was at my wits end with our nine month old chiweenie. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery… It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky… I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I wasted almost $100 on collars that do not work on either dog. Petsafe customer service recommended that I should purchase the more expensive Deluxe Petsafe Collar. No thanks. I bought this about a week ago after I received a complaint from a neighbor and was given a warning from our HOA for disturbance. This Bark Limiter collar works like it says it will and I love that you can control the barking on your phone. I had the first Limiter with metal drones, but I had to return it cause it irritated my dogs neck, as to where it was raw. The Limiter 2 has plastic phones so it doesn’t do that. We purchased the RH1220V (actually made by DT Systems) for its vibrate/page capability since we wanted to use the electronic stimulation (i.e. shock) sparringly and were afraid that the beep of other models may not get his attention, especially in high wind situations. Following the guide that came with the unit made training easy. Our 6 mo old pup responded immediately. With basic obedience training and this e-collar unit, we can now walk him off leash and keep him close (defintiely w/in gun range) with the ocassional page when he gets too far. The range of the transmitter is great and the collar is definitely water proof and durable. This unit seems to offer more value than the more expensive competition since it has some of the same or more features for less money. I would highly recommend this unit and look forward to purchasing a second collar for our new dog, since you can use the same transmitter to control up to 3 collars.EP3DoubleAnchor
I got this collar because I have one dog who takes to long to come back from in the bush. I knew that this kind of collar was the way to go. I started training him gently at home and on open ground. Then just started in the bushy areas. I was concerned that the bush would affect it's transmission but no problem. He's good now even without the collar……. We purchased the RedHead RH2 1200 Series Electronic Dog Training Collar via the Bass Pro Shop website. After a particularly destructive week with our 6 month old chocolate lab, we made the purchase. At the time we thought this was waaay to much money for such a product!!! When it arrived we just placed the collar on him and waited for about 2 to 3 weeks and then started the training. Literally we have synched the word "bad" with the stimulation and after about 5 times total throughout a whole week….he is like a different dog!!!(it takes very low stimulation) We were having problems with running to the road(we have a large farm, invisible fencing not an option), jumping, digging and the disgusting eating his own feces! Literally we just say have to say the word and he stops, turns and runs to us and sits. We don't even have the remote with us!
