I had searched online and could not find a bark collar that was safe for my 4 pound t cup schnauzer. She is an amazing dog, but barked so much that it was disturbing to ourselves and our neighbors. The collars at the Pet Stores said they were only safe for 8 pounds and up, so I could not consider them. I was delighted to find this particular collar. I figured if it didn't work, I could always return it to my local Walmart. But much to our delight. it works perfectly. It was hard to watch her cry the first time we put it on, but after the first day, she figured it out and I don't even have to turn it on now…If I simply put the collar on her, she won't bark. disappointed. Its a poor design. The rounded part (NOT the part against the dogs neck) is what really vibrates. My dog (35lb spaniel) doesn't seem to feel it! Also "high" vs "low" setting – Low is slow, High is faster, but still not vibrating MORE! I intend to try to put it on some other way adn trying more, but so far totally useless. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery… It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky… I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I wasted almost $100 on collars that do not work on either dog. Petsafe customer service recommended that I should purchase the more expensive Deluxe Petsafe Collar. No thanks. I bought this about a week ago after I received a complaint from a neighbor and was given a warning from our HOA for disturbance. We had just moved in about a month ago and didnt want to make enemies. My dog barks at everything. From shadows, birds to airplanes. I decided to give this a try. We bought these training collars 5 yrs ago. As dog owners this is the BEST investment/tool we've ever bought! We bought the 2 collar in 1 pack, in case 1 collar broke we'd have a backup. That ended up working out well because we got a German Shepherd 2 yrs down the road. Both of my girls are so well behaved with the collars on! We have only had to use the static maybe 5 times between the both of them. Once they learned it was their correction the beep worked from then on. My girls play rough. I've dropped the hand controller at least 100x's and everything still works like the day we bought it! It's help teach our girls the yard perimeter, walk off leash in the neighborhood, and get their attention when let out late if they start barking. After seeing so many bad reviews for other collars I wanted to save anyone else from other brands. You can't beat the price on this collar. We have a new , very smart and very active male german sheperd puppy. The boys can be a little harder to train . I got this initially because he howled in his kennel literally all night unless somebody slept next to the kennel . I only use the vibrate function, and thats been enough to stop even his most persistent behaviors. Its seriously crazy how well this works! I wish I’d tried one in the past with our other dogs. From the beginning whenever id press the button he would immediately stop and sit at attention. Id already taught him sit , lay down and stay before we got the collar. Its pretty hilarious because sometimes i buzz him and he sits down , then he looks around trying to figure out what got him 🤣 I highly recommend getting one of these to train your dog. OK I needed to get my younger boy to check himself with the over excessive barking but I never wanted to use anything like the shock collar which to me is a little inhumane. The one thing I noticed that did work is spraying him with a water bottle,however that’s not practical when he’s far away in the yard or trying to chase him down to do it. My dog has her mouthy moments and like yo bark at everyone that walks by my house. I recently tried the Premier Pet™ Spray Bark Collar to try and calm her from obnoxiously barking. We have a 4 year old German Shepherd who has never barked at anything until just recently. The more we socialize her with other dogs she learns more behaviors. It is simple and easy to get started. Distance is accurate. If puppy/ dog has thick fur definitely have to unlock static levels. Vibrate only one level no to slight response viewd with our dog thick fur. I bought the 300 yard lite about 2 months ago for my 1 yr old Springer spaniel who is a little shy and very sensitive to corrections yet loves to bark at the neighbors. We have had this PetSafe 300 for a couple of years now. It most definitely works in the 300 yard area. It is also very tough! It has survived several playful Corgis, and is now on a very rambunctious German Shepard. We really like the many selections you have with this trainer, from low to high. The hand held remote battery seems to last forever between charges, but the collar not so long. We seem to only get two days worth out of a charge at the most, which is why I can't give it a full 5 star rating. I would give it 4.5 starts if that was possible. Overall we would definitely buy again. We are looking to get another collar so the other can charge while one is on the rambunctiously large German Shepard puppy. I say puppy.. She's like 75lbs!!! I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I wasted almost $100 on collars that do not work on either dog. Petsafe customer service recommended that I should purchase the more expensive Deluxe Petsafe Collar. No thanks. I bought this about a week ago after I received a complaint from a neighbor and was given a warning from our HOA for disturbance. We had just moved in about a month ago and didnt want to make enemies. My dog barks at everything. From shadows, birds to airplanes. I decided to give this a try. Our new pup now almost 1 1/2 years old, was a barking machine. Hard to control or stop. We got this hoping that would help and it has. Our dog has a LOT of fur and it was hard to get contact but when that issue was resolved we noticed the barking decreased within a day or two. When we took off the collar, there was a tendency for our dog to ramp up again but once it was back on, the excess barking stopped. The dog has now figured out, collar on, no barking. Collar off, barking some is ok. Hopefully that goes away with time. Next we need to work on whining, sigh…Mossman1

Once received we read the instruction manual and did as it said but no matter what we did nothing was working. absolute junk! I domt know how they claim this is water proof when tape is used on the connection board inside the housing of the collar. I have no idea what it was securing, but I suspect it had something to do with when the unit is being charged. I have 2 chihuahua's and even at level 30 they didn't respond. I only used it for a short while and put it away for winter. When I tried to use it again just recently in the spring I discovered the units didn't work. I guess the scotch tape lost its adhesiveness I bought a pet safe system and level one gave me the result I needed.martha
This really worked awesome. I have a 3 year old golden retriever who constantly barked all day and night. Neighbors called animal control about the barking and they came to our home and warned us. This was a game changer for our dog. Several very bad behaviors/habits were corrected within a week of getting this collar. Obviously your results will depend on your dog and how you use this, but this was an invaluable tool for training our dog. Some details: 1) We find that the charge lasts a couple of days (we take it off and turn it off at night when the dog is sleeping). 2) Range is at least a few hundred yards. I purchased this and trained my dog Neko with it with a professional trainer a few months ago. This device was a lifesaver. Neko is a Shiba inu and they are extremely high energy, love to run and are very intelligent and curious. Neko escaped my fenced yard 4 times by digging, and I have heard that some Shibas can jump and scale fences up to 8ft. So I defitly needed something. I've been volunteering walking dogs with Labrador and Friends Rescue and it's required that we have two types of leashes so one form for me is the pinch collar. While some people think these are awful, they actually, if put on correctly, work wonders. These collars are made to go higher up on the neck and not supposed to be digging into the dog's neck (have to be able to stick 2 fingers through the prongs). But these collars definitely help especially if you have a dog that tends to be a little wild and you're trying to train them.
