Came as described, with cartridges installed I needed to install the breather and gauge, which went together as they should. Put next to valve and screwed everything up and turned it on, no leaks, worked as it should and very happy from start (ordering to finish) to finish with company and fns filter. Mind you that it replaced a 16 year old unit that sits in direct sunlight, so I'm expecting the same with this one.Mark

I’ve used Pleatco filters for years and they are great! I bought this 4 pack this year and the first filter I put in busted after a week. The plastic on top and bottom cracked. This is a very sturdy and strong filter. I have a Hayward C1250 filter system. I could not find a Hayward filter cartridge one season. I ended up purchasing the Pleatco. It has proved to be a great substitute. It filters so much gunk. I am always surprised by how much it weighs when I replace the cartridge with a clean one. I am not the best at my scheduled pool cleanings. But this Pleatco still does it's job even when full. It cleans up easily with my hose nozzle set to jet. I am at the start of my 4th season on this one filter cartridge. The top and bottom caps are a bit faded, bent and worn. The filtering pleats look ok, but not as white as when new. I have ordered 2 more. They do last a long time. Good quality for the price.Tina K.

The Pleatco PA80 Replacement Cartridge for Hayward Star-Clear II C800 Star-Clear II C1500 was the same quality cartridge that originally came with my filter. With summer long cleanings it was performing as well at the end of summer as it did in the beginning. I will start this years season with the same and replace only after it stops performing but I expect I'll get at least another season out of it. Great product.wc73blues

I would definitely recommend this filter for systems up to 1500 GPH. it's not too heavily restricted but you can tell it's a bit more restrictive than the standard model filter. You do get what you pay for with the Bestway brand. These filters have twice as many pleats as most I see from competitors. That translates to more sq ft. Of filter surface area to use, and longer filter life. Definitely A+ product.cjdento1988

These filters have kept our 15 foot diameter by 5 foot deep pool clear all summer long. We bought 2 and alternate them every few days. They are washable and have lasted the whole season and are washed and dried, ready to go for next spring when the pool comes out again. They show no signs of deteriorating yet. We use a deep bowl that comes to the rim of the filter. We put a tiny bit of powdered washing powder into warm water and let the filter soak. They do stain but still work perfectly. After soaking, swish it around, run cold water over it and leave it to dry. It may be because we have the pool covered always, unless we are using it and use the right amounts of chlorine and algaside according to instructions. This eases the work that the pump needs to do.journeyer10

These filters are simple to use. I like the fact that I can clean them and get some extended life out of them. I'm at the end of pool use now but I always put a fresh filter in at the end of the season so I'm ready to go next year. They work as expected and I recommend them. I change mine after heavy use of the pool but, otherwise, just pull them and clean when we have light use.calvert71

I have purchased this brand Unicell from my local pool store for $60 as an alternative to the Hayward. It is an suitable alternative and keeps the pool clean.. I was able to find it on EBay at a big discount as an open box item . I highly recommend it even if you have to pay retail.jim2705

I was sent a generic filter that didnt last more than a month. After one month of use I noticed that my pump wasnt generating the same pressure levels to run my pool vac. I took out the filter and guess what pressure was back to normal. I purchased this item about a year ago and never had issues but the latest version I recieved seems to be of a different quality. I shopped around locally and online for a few weeks then finally made a decision. This was definitely the best bang for my buck. I have had the pump installed and running for a week now. (The package arrived in good condition from FedEx. Putting it together I would say is medium to difficult level.) But once we put it together and connected it to the pool, I ran it for 24 hours straight and it works fantastic! I have a 15ft x 30ft above ground pool 15000 gallons. Before I got this pump I had a .47hp sand filter and I use to spend A LOT of $$$ on chemicals weekly trying to keep it clean and now I only have good problems. 1st good problem – the pump is so strong my Intex vacuum cleaner does not pick up a lot of the debris because it moves too fast or it blows the debris away before it even has a chance to pick it up. But the good thing is, I can manually vacuum the pool while the basket skimmer is in use. The pump works great! I use to scrub, sweep and clean my pool daily and now I don't have to. 3 issues which may have been an oversight on my part. 1. I did not realize the pump needed to be grounded until I received it. 2. There is no on/off switch. 3. When I ordered the pump I was not given any kind of timeframe of how long it would take for the order to be processed. Although, I will admit it was worth the wait. I recommend this product!Emma B

I had a smaller sand filter forever and I was tired of it. I called PSU and wanted some advice and information about the different filter types. The customer service was superb and they took all the time I needed to feel comfortable with my decision. The DE filter works great and seems to keep the water more clear than the sand filter I had.Derrik

With shock it and this my pool went from green to crystal clear in 2 days, before that the shock it would clean it up but never remove the billions of particles in the water that would make it turn green every other day. I run this a couple hours a day and dont even use shock it anymore. Did have to adapt the hoses to fit but its not hardjlar5981

I purchased this unit and I find its a good value. I should have gotten the unit with the filter on top of the motor , but I purchased on the spur of the moment. I called to see if it was a plug and play (on the intex) pool , they said yes, but it was not . I had to order a adapter for the filter(bottom) on the side of the pool to connect the hose. I was not happy with that but overall its a learning experience. I had to watch a program on the internet to find out what to do and what to order to make it work. Overall its all OKlees337

18ft 52in deep steel wall pool. Don't be fooled by its small size! This little filter is awesome! It's so easy to install and operate and it comes with all the hoses and adapters you could possibly need. I'm a 40yo office worker with zero mechanical skills and I installed it myself with no leaks or anything in just a few minutes.. I'm literally amazed how clean our pool is. It's crystal clear and looks like a big blue topaz. Our gigantic, heavy, expensive old filter (that came with the pool) was not half this good. It's super easy to maintain too, with no crazy-complicated directions. I wasn't able to upload a photo for some reason but trust me our pool is PERFECT.Liz

I recently received this Flowerclear 1500gal Sand filter and I must say it’s amazing. My pull would never last clean with the filters plus they had to be changed every so often. Honestly, it was such a hassle plus expensive. Now, with this sand filter it has been saving me lots of money and time due to effective this pump is with cleaning. I’ve had my pool up for a while now and the pump has been doing such an amazing job. The water from my pool looks so clear compared to my filtered pump. Flowclear 1500 gallon sand filter is the best filter I have ever owned. One of the things I really love about flowclear 1500 gallon sand filter is that it is easy to set up with easy instructions to follow. Another thing I really like about this flowclear sand filter is that has a pump motor that filters 1500 gallons per hour. Something else I thought was really good about this flowclear sand filter is that how durable its made to me it holds up really good to this Midwest weather so that means earlier set up times in the year. Update as of July 2014:After about 6 months of using these filters, I am still very pleased. I have taken them out and cleaned them twice, and the filter material is holding up very well. Initially the fit was a bit snug where they mounted onto the housing, but that has loosened up a bit, but not too much. I am considering purchasing another set of filters so I can rotate them and take my time cleaning the filters. This way, I don't have to set aside an hour or so on a weekend to disassemble the filter, clean, and reassemble.Like other reviews have stated, the quality of these filters is very good, and the price is considerably lower then local pool supply stores. The fit was a bit tight, but I used some o-ring lubricant and it helped.The price was actually a bit cheaper to buy these one at a time, instead of the 4 pack, but the 4 pack was being shipped to me with Prime, so it was worth the extra $12 or $15. I get a lot of packages in 1 day with Prime! This was no different.I have been battling a bit of algae in my pool for the past few seasons, resulting in extra chlorine being used and a lot of brushing in the areas that do not get a lot of direct sun. It never occurred to me that just hosing off my old filters could be causing this…. duh. I put these 4 filters in, and within a couple days, I have no algae in the pool!! I wish I would have changed them sooner!! Lesson learned by me the hard way, but maybe it will help someone else out. Don't wait, hosing off the old filters is not enough after a few years.Unrelated to these filters, I stripped out the brass T nut that holds the band on my filter. After being quoted $40 from the local pool store for the nut, or $250 for the whole band, I decided to get creative. I went to the local home improvement store and bought a 4 pack of stainless 5/16 – 24 TPI nuts, and carefully tightened all 4 nuts at the same time with 2 wrenches. It snugged up without issues or leaks. I will replace the correct brass nut, but not for that price, DiscoverMyStore to the rescue I'm sure….Andrew T.

I should have bought these sooner. Fit perfectly right out of the box. I have to believe those reviewers who said they had some difficulty installing these cartridges must not have ordered the correct part. They fit very snuggly in the manifold, but, isn't that what you want? I was able to push them on with just a small amount of hand pressure in both the manifold on the bottom and the fitting on top. Changing the cartridges took less than 15 minutes.So, why did I replace my cartridges? My pool is only 3 years old, but, I was having a problem with getting my old cartridges completely clean. I would take them out and spend time with the hose on high pressure trying to get into every crevice, put them back in and still show pressure readings in the mid 20s. Within 10 days the pressure was back up to 30psi. I had to clean them monthly in order to keep the water clear (yes, I checked all of the chemical balances and my salt system was working properly with proper salt levels). I even tried some chemical cleaners when cleaning the cartridges thinking that the high pressure water was not enough to get them clean. I have a variable speed pump and when it went into low speed mode my salt system indicated low flow and I was unable to get the pool water really clear.When I put these cartridges in the pressure dropped to 15psi on high speed and I have better flow rate than I have ever had. I was able to cut the low speed on my variable speed pump in half and (at pressure readings of 12psi) I still have sufficient flow rate for the salt system and heater to operate. My pool sweep is running almost as fast on low pump speed as on the higher cleaning cycle speed. Within 4 hours I had sparkling clean water again.I should mention that this is not our first pool. At our previous house I had a Hayward paper cartridge filter in which I had to clean the cartridges once a year and never had the problems I have had with the Pentair filter. Given the choice I would avoid the Pentair filter. In my opinion the Pentair equipment (pumps, filters, salt system) are inferior to the Hayward equipment. Hayward equipment is more expensive, but you get what you pay for.MAB

No matter what I did, I couldn't keep my pool crystal clear. I tried washing my old filter cartridges, but that only lasted a few days before the pool started to look cloudy again. I hadn't changed the cartridges out since we moved into the house (nearly 4 years ago), so I figured it was time.I'm sure glad I did. Within a couple days, the pool looked beautiful again. Maintenance is easier and less time-consuming. And I don't have to spend my hours each week brushing the algae from the walls of the pool.These filter cartridges were easy to install and fit perfectly into my Pentair Clean and Clear Plus 320 pool filter. This is an absolute piece of garbage. I used it a couple of times now and it flat out doesn't work as a pump for your small Intex pool. There is VERY LITTLE POWER. By no means not enough to work in cleaning even a kiddie pool. No suction at all. They should be ashamed of themselves for the cost, defective craftsmanship, false hope, and all the time and aggravation you will waste on this falsity.John

It has worked for a month now, and it really works. I use it with a 10' Intex above-ground pool. After using the pool, need to run it for like 12 hours a day for several days to clear the water. After that, an hour a day might be fine. Right now, the pipes are turning green and I'm guessing I might need some kind of algecide. Weird, even though the water in the pool is crystal clear. Intex is the best brand for seasonal pools. Im on my 4th Intex pool in 11 years. My prior pools had to be replaced for other reasons not because of quality. intex is a brand you can trust, I have been trusting on them for years and they have not let me down. the pump its self work great, it does what us intended to do. came with everything I need since I bought a pool that did not come with a pump. it also came with instructions and it was si simple to set up. I really recommend this product if you ever need one!!luis
