Our dog twice got foxtail seeds in his paws which lead to serious infections. He missed a hunting trip and the second time his paw was huge with the infection and had to be lanced. Poor fella. Google brought me to the natural dog company because my dogs paws were the stuff off nightmares. Paw pads that look like hair which I learned was hyperkeratosis. Supposedly there is no cure for this. But I thought at the very least this would give him some relief as he must have been in some pain. Well he looks so much better already. The paws got soft enough that I was able to "trim" the filaments off sightly. Yes it was as gross as it sounds lol. He is not fully cured yet but his paws are so much closer to normal already. I thought this was way too good to be true. My dog- Victoria, a catahoula- has severe allergies and has to be on a special diet, take medications, etc. even then, she has still had really bad allergies and chews her paws and legs. Google brought me to the natural dog company because my dogs paws were the stuff off nightmares. Paw pads that look like hair which I learned was hyperkeratosis. Supposedly there is no cure for this. But I thought at the very least this would give him some relief as he must have been in some pain. Well he looks so much better already. The paws got soft enough that I was able to "trim" the filaments off sightly. Yes it was as gross as it sounds lol. He is not fully cured yet but his paws are so much closer to normal already. He is also in less pain as he is more tolerant of me putting the product on. Once he gets a bit more healed I will use the skin soother in-between the toes. The only con is that this stuff goes fast. I thought this was way too good to be true. My dog- Victoria, a catahoula- has severe allergies and has to be on a special diet, take medications, etc. even then, she has still had really bad allergies and chews her paws and legs. While she absolutely hates this stuff- I don’t know if it is the smell (it smells good, though), but on day 2 I saw a significant change in the redness and itchiness. I was such a huge skeptic because I’ve tried everything and I wasn’t expecting this to work and it has honestly been the only think that is not a medication that has helped. Please get this for your pets. Worst case scenario, it doesn’t help, I’m so glad I took the risk because Victoria’s skin looks so much better. Definitely worth it!!Christy
I run and walk my border collie 7-9 miles everyday and his paws were always rough so I decided to try this…within 1 week his cracks were almost all gone and his pads were really bad…deep skin cuts are almost fully gone!!! I had to order more of it even tho I haven't ran out fully. My dog doesn't lick it off or anything, but the first 2 times, it was hard to keep him still but now he lays there sleeping while I put it on him before bed. He lays still when I put it on in the morning also. I recommend getting the 4 Oz tin cuz I got the 2 Oz stick and after 1 week it's half gone…so if the pads are very rough, you my use a bit more than usual or recommended. I tried the pawtection and it really helped his paws on the cold pavements but we got to about 3.5 miles in on our run and then he started running on the snow, so it doesn't stay on longer than 4 miles, which is ok cuz u don't wanna be out too long really cold or hot weather anyways.Lindsey H.

Irish setter had injured nose causing it to swell and the black skin on nose had cracked badly. when the selling went down the badly cracked and dry skin wouldn't heal .After just 3 applications of this cream there was a big difference and using it twice daily for a week seen the nose totally heal. After noticing hyperkeratinosis on the paws of my senior basset hound (Baxter), I researched various products, and this one seemed to have the best reviews. Looking at the ingredients, sure you could make this stuff yourself, but for the money, it's more affordable to just buy a container, especially when a little goes so far. When I first put it on, he wasn't happy. I suppose his feet hurt so much on those spots, touching them was painful. However, shortly after using it, it was if he was a different dog. I'm not trying to allude that this is a miracle cure, or will change your pet significantly, but when considering that he went from watching my other dogs to playing with them, and walking with a better stride, and being happier in general, I give it a ton of credit. It has been a few weeks, and his feet are softer, but not totally cured. Hyperkeratinosis is a permanent issue, but being able to make him comfy and happy, makes me happy, and if you decide to purchase this item, I hope you have the same positive outcomes as well.blinkydatiger

It's been two days and already my dog's dry paws are noticeably softer and less rough. We have a gravel driveway and fairly hard clay soil under the grass, and in hotter weather our dog's pads get dry and rough from dashing across it all the time. This is the first paw balm I've tried, but I'm already very pleased with it. I purchased the tin, which is equivalent to a lip balm tin in size. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. Does anyone know if this product is safe if the dog licks it? Has anyone's pet gotten sick?

Purchased this product with not much confidence made a huge difference in my GSD allergies. Sprayed on the area he was chewing when he would begin chewing. These charcoal pads are a new product for my rescue doggo Addie and I. Our 15 pound mix is limited to indoors and has been trained to the pads. That means lots of toilet duty and smells are a problem to keep up with. So far I've noticed a difference from previous pads in absorbency and the urine odor, and it seems not quite as strong as usual, (barring her water intake naturally). The color is new, the black pads keep the urine from showing up on the pad so you have to be careful not to mistake what would've looked like a blank spot when you do your clean up. Not a problem just a heads up. The price point is good and there's no scent associated with the clean dry pad. I believe we will try these again.PAMELA

Comes with charging cord, just need to supply your own wall adapter. Probably dont want to just come at your dog with this thing to start. Start low and low, let them check it out, dont make it scary. One of my labs is more laid back about stuff like this so I was able to try it out fairly quickly. Not sure if it is for us yet, but it does work. Easy to charge, easy to clean. I like that the interior can be peeled out for cleaning. I dont mind dirt, so I am not washing paws every time we go out. But we have sandy soil, and when it rains there is mud galore. That can be tricky to clean up to a level that doesnt leave mud all over house. We wipe our paws, but mud and such gets up into the toes. Some days are more caked than others. It is those times I wish I had an easier way to get the paws clean. I have been wanting to try something like this for awhile, but wasnt sure if it was worth it. 2 large dogs, makes for 8 large paws. But this larger than the manual versions, and it has promise. It works, but will take time for my babies to get used to it. Can use plain water, or add a little dog safe shampoo.
It's a simple device with easy instructions. Associating cleaning the paw with getting a treat does really help. The instruction manual is also clear and concise. The actual device and cleaning process works great, I even put a portion of my hand in to see how it feels overall. It is also easily portable, which could be taken on vacation or out camping.
