I purchased this around Christmas time for my two Golden mixes. They are sisters and about 10 years old. One had a severe yeast problem due to a grain allergy. We had her on Dinovite for quite a while, but she was still itching constantly. Even after several dietary discussions (including grains) with Dinovite's "coaches" she was still scratching while on a grain free diet. Lo and behold, there was sorghum grain in the Dinovite. I mixed half a can of this with half of the amount of dry food. I also received that with this. My dog loved it and gobbled it down. She got so excited for the next meal as well when I used the remainder of the can. She almost didn’t eat her food the next day without it mixed in. I had to make it fun and put it in some toys. Definitely recommend gradually switching the food from your current to this if you want to start using it. I received a free product from @influester and @wellnesspetfood We have two elderly dogs, a black Labrador and a Norwegian elkhound. As they have gotten older I noticed they have more and more stomach issues and well gassiness. The gassiness causes them to bloat and seem uncomfortable too. About 3 years ago I got a 9 month old Boston Terrier puppy from my vet. He gave me the Science Diet food they had been feeding her since she came under his care. Everything was fine until she was about a year old. All of a sudden she was vomiting constantly and had severe diahrrhea. It was so bad she lost 3 pounds and just couldn't even keep white rice down. I was planning on training her as a service dog but I was afraid she was not going to live. I rushed her to the vets and he did blood work, xrays, and other tests. He didn't find any blockages but he did say he'd never seen a dog with so much intestinal inflammation before. He suggested I try the Science Diet I/d because that's what he fed his Boston Terrier. I started her slowly and within a week her stools were improving and the vomiting had stopped. Within 2 weeks everything was fine and she started putting on weight. I know that Science Diet isn't the most popular dog food on the market these days. Everyone is into raw, no thank you and all natural and so on. But I'm convinced that Science Diet saved her life and I don't care how much it costs, she will always be on it. When you have a service dog, they need to be in tip-top shape at all times. I will spend whatever I need to, to make sure she is healthy and happy because she's my constant companion and I rely on her 24/7.

One of our dogs was throwing up yelllow/clear phlegm frequently in the morning, not wanting to eat for a bit, and then would be fine until the next morning or every few mornings. We tried switching foods when our vet mentioned she may need to get tested for GI issues if it continued. Once blood was mixed with phlegm we went to our vet immediately to get medications to help while they sent off her stuff for testing to a GI panel in Texas to confirm what our vet thought. She recommended switching to this prescription dog food, noting sometimes it’s just needed for a few years, but usually dogs stay on for life. I had serious doubts it would help (and of course is a higher price than most foods) but it WORKS!! Our dog quickly grew to love the food within a few days having her appetite back. I have been feeding this for about a year to my dog. She has chronic constipation, low GI motility, and other GI issues secondary to several surgeries she had when she was young. (Parts of her intestine had to be removed due to her eating foreign material) Before now she had to have a high dose of laxative twice a day and a low dose of steroid just to maintain normal GI function. Since starting this food, we have been able to wean her off of most of her medications. She no longer needs the laxative or steroid! And her gut health is the best it has been in years. I'm on the second tub of Protect and just ordered a third. We had a scare with our 14+ Aussie who developed acute G.I. issues (for the first time ever) after a recent lar par surgery. Bear had to take so many post surgery meds and began to decline rapidly. I hated giving him all those meds but felt that we had no choice. Max was 1 year old when we adopted him and I realized he had digestive/gut issues. His foster home was feeding him cheap dry food so I gradually switched him to high quality raw food and his condition improved but, he still had occasional mucus and blood and test's didn't show any parasites or infection. Our vet just wanted to keep Max on antibiotics & antacids, and put him on Hills prescription food that contains corn and other junk. We always used to feed our two dogs kibbles and bits. the one dog would spit up every now and then and the other dog, who has seasonal skin allergies was very itchy and we had to get him cytopoint injections (every 2mo). I just need to give a major shout out to this amazing company! My Tika girl was having chronic diarrhea. She is now 10 years old and I was convinced there was something majorly wrong with her. The vet couldn’t figure anything out and we were dealing with issues for months! Being in a new house with a beloved dog having accidents everywhere was so hard to deal with. I tried so many different foods that were high end and supposedly good to help with digestion and bowel issues and nothing was working. 🙁 During one of my many hours of research on what I could do to help my girl I came across Dr Harvey’s food and all the reviews from pet parents suffering from the same issues as us (and others even much worse). Of course I was a bit skeptical as always because it sounded too good to be true but decided it couldn’t hurt to try. I ordered a sample and it was so amazing that I never looked back. It’s a bit pricy but honestly not as bad as some bagged food with all the unhealthy additives or even the script foods. We now feed all 3 doggos the canine health and I also use the “runs be done” supplement (all natural). Literally our dogs have NEVER been so excited to eat before and NEVER this amazingly healthy! If anyone is having issues with their doggos I highly recommend this company! You just add a protein and water to the mix and boom instant meal for the doggos that looks more like what a human would eat and not some gross dry food bits. <3

Hi! A miracle has occurred in Forest Hills! I took Baci on a long walk in the hope of increasing her appetite and then fed her Canine Health. I used raw lamb as a protein and then added a couple of the freeze dried tripe pieces, Runs Be Done and a little liverwurst. Well to my amazement she actually ate the food! I am a little concerned about the liverwurst because of the toxins in the liver, but it was only about an ounce. Hopefully, she will continue to eat the food as I believe this will help what I believe to be IBS.

Boy did I screw up. I was near the end of my Purina one bag and got sucked in to a sale for so called premium grain free dog food (Supreme). This boutique dogfood had the same salmon as a main ingredient but the next ingredients were all legumes plus seaweed and a variety of so called naturals. The online reviews were great so I was sold. Of course my dog hated it but I tried doctoring with water and crushed up biscuits. She reluctantly ate it but she was pooping about 3 times as normal. I was running out of bags on our walk and her breath stank. I learned my lesson and back to Purina. Happy owner and happy dog.Billypdx

I have an extremely active 3-year-old husky. He had great muscle tone and a high activity level on his previous food, which for some reason he decided he no longer liked. I switched him to this food as he has a sensitive stomach, and I liked that it had a high calorie content and a decent protein level. However, we very quickly started having issues. His normal activity level went down. He seemed to have less energy. I still exercised him to help keep up the muscle mass, but it still decreased. With the decreased energy and muscle, he started putting on fat. In a matter of a couple weeks, I no longer have my toned and fit boy. In search of another food with a better quality protein to help get that muscle back. He did like the taste of the food, and it did seem to be gentle on his stomach and digestion.unhappyhusky

This used to be great. My dog has a sensitive stomach so he reacts when something is different with his food. Ever since I bought this new bag right after Christmas his stomach has not been right since. I know you say that the formula hasn’t changed but something has changed enough where my dogs stomach is upset. Will probably have to switch foods yet again to find something to fit him, which sucks because I basically have a 30lb bag of dog food that I can’t use.Basiaaax3
