These charcoal pads are a new product for my rescue doggo Addie and I. Our 15 pound mix is limited to indoors and has been trained to the pads. That means lots of toilet duty and smells are a problem to keep up with. So far I've noticed a difference from previous pads in absorbency and the urine odor, and it seems not quite as strong as usual, (barring her water intake naturally). The color is new, the black pads keep the urine from showing up on the pad so you have to be careful not to mistake what would've looked like a blank spot when you do your clean up. Not a problem just a heads up. The price point is good and there's no scent associated with the clean dry pad. I believe we will try these again.PAMELA

My sister purchased these and sent me a pack. I have a female cat that is constantly urinating over the edge of the litter box. Well let me tell you these pads trap the urine and keep me from constantly cleaning and hoping I get rid of the smell. For those of you that have cats this can be very difficult. I have the extra large pads. I place one with the white pad on the floor and another one with the white pad up (like you normally would) to catch it. I dont think I really need the extra one on the bottom. But until I feel comfortable that one is enough I will continue to use two. She doesnt do it every day but at least once every couple of weeks. It also keeps her from tracking the litter all over. When it gets soiled I just roll it up and toss it. I dont know why I never tried them. I will never be without them going forward. I don’t understand how people are still rating these so high and saying they are awesome. They must be new to the game because I have been purchasing these for well over 15 years and those of us that have been around know that this is nowhere near the quality that used to be provided. A few years ago I believe there were 150 in the box and they were very thick compared to others, and if I’m not mistaken they were even a few inches bigger. I could be wrong, but that’s beside the point. Obviously the company has had to make some changes in order to keep the prices down but to be honest I’d rather pay a few bucks more to have back what used to be a great puppy pad. These are as thin as the ones from the dollar store, and the floor underneath the pad is always always always wet no matter how little my dog uses it. The price makes it seem like you’re getting a great deal but it’s really not when you have to use 2 or 3 layered at a time to protect your floor. I assume these are so highly rated due to their low price. I liked that aspect too initially, but I ended up NOT being impressed at all with these pads. They are small (one reason I expected them to be REALLY absorbent if one that small could hold 8 cups of liquid!), they track terribly (wet puppy prints all over the floor) and because they are small and are not very absorbent, you go through them really fast. The fact you go through them so quickly completely offsets any initial advantage on their pricing. I bought the Members Mark Training pads when we got our small breed puppy over a year ago and have been buying them ever since. Then they suddenly changed and were thinner and not quilted like they used to be. They don't hold up as well and leak sometimes. Training pads are expensive but so far Sam's price has not risen yet, they're just not made as well anymore. It's just a product of our times I suppose. These are great puppy / dog pads and I’ve used them for many years. I found them when Sams stopped carrying certain ones. They are pretty thick and don’t easily rip (like ones I tried from Petco – very thin and ripped easily). But the price increase is a bit much. A $6 jump?! Come on Target – people are struggling to keep their pets due to costs, shelters are over flowing with surrenders. These are fantastic! I line my garage floor with these like a runway for doggy duty. I found it more space and cost efficient to use the XL size rather than size large for my two chihuahuas. I clean up after them daily and change out the pads weekly depending on how often they use them. They go outside on nice days but if it's raining or too cold, they will use these in the garage. These pads do not adhere to anything so the best thing to do (especially in the garage ) is to use small chunks of brick or landscaping scallop to weigh them down to keep the wind from flipping the edges over. I overlap several ones, with the top edge facing away from the garage opening. It's worked wonders. These are very effective with holding the urine and do not leak. Still in search of a good odor control pad as my favorite I was using (from a different company) has been discontinued. This pad does a good job, but not as good as "my favorite". Absorbancy seems to be good and the dark color hides the wet spots. I can't tell how quickly it absorbs because we use a tray for our pads because our pup chews the pads if used by themselves.
Love Glad wee wee pads. They absorb the mess quickly. They are easy for dogs to see when placed on a light colored floor. I think my puppies prefer them to white/ blue pads. They work well and they have a different look to them than other pads. They also do not leak and they hold the mess better than other brands. They do not allow the smell to be overwhelming like other brands. We like them very much.Liii
Expensive, very thin, not good for my dog's needs. Pee leaks and is extremely thin. You pick up the mat and there's pee underneath. They were so expensive and were no good for us. They’re absorbent and comparable to the other brands. They are scented, which cuts the odors. I had purchased potty pads from another company, that has carbonized layers that didn’t work for my pup. She’s chewing on everything, and the materials in them swells like the pads that are at the bottom of raw meat. I had to watch her closely until she voided bc of the risk of it swelling in her abdomen. These pads, tho, don’t do that. Not worth it. I bought 3 packs of these because I have a puppy who is still learning to potty outside. The first time I put one down she peed on it and it was like there was nothing down. It went right through and leaked all over the floor as I tried to put it in the garbage. I am not doubling them up. Still not much of a difference, but it’s better than nothing right now. These are not absorbent at all puppy peed on it and it not only went off of it but straight through it. I then doubled layered and one puppy pee still went through both pads to the floor. When I picked them up the pee just dripped out everywhere. These are the worst pads I have ever encountered. I know I have used them in the past and they were not like this I don't know what happened but I will never purchase these again. I don't know how they can even be listed as ultra absorbent when they hold nothing at all and have no scent either so I'm not sure why it was listed as mountain fresh bc these have zero odor.tigger25

I have bought The American Kennel club training pads before and I am buying them again. I have 2 senior dogs and they both use them. The scent is not strong or over powering and each pad holds the urine so it does not drip or run over the sides. I also have a 13 year old cat and I have seen her use the pads also. I have used many different brands of puppy pads, some good and some not so good, I can say this brand was very good. I found that they are, or have been so far leak proof and as claimed dry rather quickly. I have not noticed any smell so the odor neutralizer must be working. I have used these pads for my elderly dog as well as line the cat carriers for the visit to the vet which have been a life saver for my nervous cat. To me these pads for not just for puppies and dogs, I have also used these in the car to place a cooler on so when the items are taken out there are not spills or stains. I am reviewing these All-Absorb regular training pads that I have used several times for my fur baby. These are much larger and more absorbent than what I have been purchasing. The size is large enough to trap urine. They are thicker as well. The measurements are 28"x34". My Yorkie has been pad-trained for many years. I find that these pads are leak proof, quick drying, odor neutralizer, and puppy attractant. They come with a 40 count X-Large in the package I am reviewing.These are great for training new puppies. I received the 28 x 34 size training pads. This size pad will certainly cover a large area. It seems to be made very well. There's the back sheet which is plastic, and the top sheet is nicely padded to soak up messes. And I don't smell anything, but there must be some scent because it got my dog's attention, so it's nice that it's not noticeable to people, or at least me. And I'll be honest, and say that I did not want these for puppy training, although I would certainly purchase them for that if I did need that type of product, simply because they are well made and would obviously work. But I wanted these because I have an older female dog, and in her later years, she leaks sometimes. She doesn't potty in the house, but she had minor accidents. This 28 x 34 size is ideal to put on top of her loveseat (her bed) and she has no problem laying on it. So this is actually a multi-use product, and perfect for both training pups and helping out the older ones, too. Definitely 5 stars from me.Laura

Why are the good quality pads out of stock? I decided to give this one a try and it's not thick enough to hold liquid without causing it to leak on the floor (the pad gets wet from top AND bottom). I've been having to put 2 pads on top of each other so my floor doesn't get wet. The pads I purchased before this one (that are out of stock) were actually very good quality and I never experienced any leakage.Suzi

These are the best pads I’ve used so far. I’ve tried them all: charcoal activated, huge ones, small ones, blue ones, green ones…. Everything. My cat has special needs as she is older and doesn’t like the feel of litter in her paws due to arthritis. So we line her litter boxes with these and she uses them happily. These smell nice when you put them out initially and the smell dissipates after a little bit. So the smell isn’t overwhelming. It also hasnt deterred my pet from using them. They’re very absorbent and they’ve never failed me in that sense. They certainly hold lots of urine. But as soon as they’re soiled, they do not mask the smell of urine or feces fully. They help, but they’re not magic after all. We change them out as soon as she uses them and would recommend it for anyone using them for puppy training. However, since walking on the urine will wet their paws and then move the peepee paw marks wherever else they go, as far as “transfer” goes, they’re not 100%. If our girl pees and it catches her back paws, they do get a little wet with pee and we have to wash her little pawpaws. So that’s something to consider.Celeste
I have used these pads 21”x21” for my small dog for years. Multiple pees are accommodated on each pad per day. I use the plastic tray with them. The tray holds the pad in place securely as the dog moves around. They never leak and absorb the urine quickly. I would never use another brand. There is no lure pheromone added to these pads and therefore perfect for animals that are not in training. Use the correct sized pad for the weight of your animal. A large dog in a small pad will cause leakage. Having a pad trained dog is wonderful for the animal and you. My dog can go to the bathroom when needed and doesn’t have to be in the icy cold weather for a pee. Less stress for everyone. Also convenient for traveling as you can provide a pad anywhere and your dog will use it. Takes time to pad train, and starting a puppy is easiest. However, I did train an electrolyte dog to use these late in life. I highly recommend these pads and the appropriate holder tray.luv2shop
On a weekly trip to Walmart, I stopped by the pet aisle to grab the stash of pads I needed for my fur babies. I usually use the blue lined pads in the large size and they work great. This day I accidentally bought the purple lavender scented ones. I figured if anything my living room will have the added pleasure of smelling great. Well then. My 3 adorable ferrets decided that this scent brought them back to the memories of their ancestors and decided to dig up these new pads as if they had a mission to generate a warp-hole to lavender fields of old. Sensing this could be a problem I took the duct tape approach. Lets tape these suckers into the cage so they can be dug up no more! Eureka! Well, no. The story only really begins here. Then one of them actually used the pad. I mean, well how much could a little carpet shark or three really pee right? Upon the first usage of this lavender scented pad my babies cage was covered in a flood like in the days of Noah! I think they released the Kraken! I had synchronize swimmers on my hands. This just did not work. After calling a clean up crew I decided that it just might be best to return to Walmart to pick up a package of the blue lined pads after all, as who could deal with all this on the daily.
