I have a 10-year-old Bichon Frise with a lot of fluffy coat that takes a lot of effort in the shampoo and grooming process. The Vetericyn FoamCare product was very easy to use and provided ample amounts of lather to thoroughly clean my dog. The Vericyn FoamCare easily washed out thoroughly and left my dog's coat smelling clean and fresh. The included conditioner made it very easy for me to complete his grooming. I was very pleased when blow-drying his coat and being able to fluff his hair to give him the traditional Bichon look. My Bichon has sensitivities to many brands of shampoos. The Vetericyn FoamCare was very gentle on his skin and there was no evidence of any irritants or rashes on his skin. This product penetrates the skin well and performed gently when some of the product got into his eyes. We have a cocker spaniel that is a puppy mill rescue. Baths are always a stressful event. Trying to get a product on the dog while keeping ahold of them is almost impossible. Giving my Samoyed a bath is always a tedious, tiring task. The amount of time is directly related to the amount of hair and she has a lot. With typical shampoos I always ended up over shampooing one area and barely touching others as where the shampoo landed is where it would get well dispersed and other areas were left with the run off because otherwise I'd be bathing her for hours to work in shampoo and rinse it off. With the Vetericyn Foam Care it was easy to apply just the right amount of shampoo all over and easily massage it in for amazing results. Bath time took half the time and it looks and feels like she went to the groomer as I was able to really shampoo her all over. While I used this for an all over bath it would be easy to use it just on areas as needed for a quick bath as well. I am sure this shampoo would of been nice but the whole order and exsperience with this company was ruined when they shipped my several bottles of shampoo in with treats made from intestines of buffalo that smell like fecal material so strongly it permeates the plastic shampoo bottles. I still can't get the bottles of shampoo I ordered to release the poop smell that premeditated the plastic bottles. So disappointed they where mailed together in same pouch! Very best natural shampoo on the market. My little morky is allergic to flea bites and if even one gets on her she will start scratching and all her hair starts falling out yntil we do something to get them off her which is usually a pill and a good bath to clean off the eggs this shampoo does exactly what its advertised to do and I hope they never stop making it. With a household of both cats and dogs (owning/dogsitting/fostering), you can imagine lots of accidents are bound to happen. I moved into a house where 2 dogs tore up the house because of negligent pet owners. one dog was larger and was only let out once or twice a day on his leash to do his business. they gave away the smaller dog eventually because it was hyperactive and kept urinating on the carpet. they abandoned the house and their mess along with it… the slumlord vacuumed but I went over it with the Arm and Hammer animal odor eliminated stuff and my Dyson ball for animals vacuum, then let the house air out for a few hours. it perfumed the smell and still reeked of dogs. then I rented a Rug Doctor from Wal Mart and used the Rug Doctor shampoo for animals… I went over the carpet twice (spraying forward and back) and once again opened the windows and doors for a few hours. keeping in mind my 2 year-old son has had allergic conjunctivitis and a fever from going in and out of this disaster area for 2 days, I am enraged at this point because the overwhelming perfume smell was gone but the dog smell was still obviously there. I went to Petco last night to find ANYTHING with a hefty price tag on it that looked like it would work (without having to rent a carpet cleaner again) and bought this for $15.99 along with a lavender-scented Arm and Hammer odor-eliminating candle (which I haven't tested yet). I went over every inch of that God-forsaken carpet… today, the air in that placed is finally neutralized!!! there is a faint smell of the spray but 1.) I cant express how much I don't care, considering what I've been through, literally, already and 2.) that will be remedied with an air purifier and my candle (or any oil burner, diffuser, or potpourri- I never recommend air sprays). my only suggestion is that if you are under the same circumstances I was and plan on spraying as much as I did, wear a rubber glove because it leaks onto your fingers and the smell doesn't wash off. that said, I suggest renting a carpet cleaner using this brand's shampoo to save yourself time, effort, and frustration, if you ever find yourself in my situation… and apparently order it online since it's cheaper?Raynie

I recently received a sample of the Vetericyn Foam Care Medicated Shampoo to try. I have 3 small short hair dogs that have dry skin issues in the cooler months. I was able to put the shampoo to the test after my little guys decided to roll on some dead critter out in the back 40. They all came in tails wagging and smelling like week old road kill. First off, the spray nozzle on the Vetericyn Foam Care is a great idea! This made bath time so much easier. You can spray the foam shampoo exactly where you need it. No more filling your hand or slopping shampoo on the pup's back. There is no heavy medicated smell from the shampoo. It almost instantly killed the horrendous odor the dogs had. I like this product. I really like the design of the bottle and how it is a spray/foaming formula. That really does make the shamooing process easier, although, once I had sprayed it a few times, I don't think my dog was a fan of the spray noise. I have to give my dog a bath daily with Chlorohexidine shampoo due to his severe allergies. It's the only thing that really helps topically. I did use this in addition to the Chlorohexidine, and I feel like it helped some with drying out his rashes. Unfortunately, there's only so much I can do to help my dog with allergies. I haven't found a cure or anything that gets rid of the redness, flaking, and itching he has. Because of the spraying option, this is easier to use for getting on his belly/under his legs. I think it's an effective product, just not sure how effective since my dog has a chronic allergy issue. It has a nice smell as well! Clean but not fruity or overwhelming. This shampoo is not only so easy to use, it's been such a good product to use overall! The foaming spray makes lathering so much easier since I don't have to spread a gel shampoo so much just to make sure it doesn't sit mostly in one spot. The shampoo didn't seem to overdry my dog's coat or skin, but it was really good at removing all the dirt either way. Because it's a foaming shampoo, it also washes away so much more easily which saves me time and effort with washing her. She smelled so clean and her fur looked so healthly after the first use! I was even more surprised that her clean scent basically lasted all week despite her repeated rolling around in the grass and on carpets. I couldn't stop petting her and sniffing her fur! My 10 year old cat was literally dying because she could not eat and was getting too weak to drink. She was getting palliative, hospice type care but I didn't want her to starve to death. I searched for high calorie nutritionally sound feline supplemental food that required the smallest amount to compensate for her lack of eating. I came across this and decided to give it a try. My cat was so sick I had to use a feeding syringe to get it into her but she tolerated it and sure enough it was enough to get her to gain weight and strength and start eating again best she can. I take care of feral cats and I Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) them in order to decrease the cat population in my neighborhood. When spaying a female cat, you have to keep them for at least 4 days for them to appropriately heal and have the affects of the anesthesia to wear off completely. One of the ferals that I trapped was a skin-and-bones female that was really too young to be having the kitten she was towing around with her. So I trapped her and her only surviving female kitten, had them both fixed and proceeded to "Fatten them up" and have them heal completely. "Under the Weather" Ready-Cal was the perfect supplement to give to both mamma and baby while they healed. I kept mamma in my care for one month because she was so pathetically thin. In that month, Mamma's coat changed from a rusty brown to a glossy black. She gained weight to where you could no longer feel her ribs poking through her fur. She did not like indoor life AT ALL and could not be socialized or handled, so she was released back to her outdoor home. I continue to feed Mamma every day, even built her an outdoor heated shelter in my fenced in yard. She is very content now. She now loves people, but cannot be picked up off the ground or lifted, but allows petting and head scratches. As for her kitten, she socialized very well, is awesome at vet visits and handling, and doubled in size very quickly because of the added Ready-Cal supplement and gained weight at a rate of 1lb/month. Her blood work came back from the vet as perfect. She was de-wormed, de-fleaed, and now is added to our family as a "foster-fail" which means that she is just too stinking cute to adopt out, so I kept her as part of our family. If I put their wet food down without the Ready-CAL supplement they sniff it as something is not quite right with the food. Once I apply it to the food, they lick the brown calorie-dense "goop" (as my husband calls it) off the top of the food first, then they dig into and eat the rest. I do not feel that the kitten and Mamma cat would have recovered so fully and have such good health now if it was not for the Ready-Cal supplement. Apoquel has done wonders for my German Shepherd who recently developed seasonal allergies at six years old. He was scratching and biting at himself 24/7 and he caused an infection on his foot from the constant licking. He was so miserable until our vet put him on apoquel along w an antibiotic for his infection. The apoquel worked very quickly with relief felt later the same day he started. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. Gracie has had life long digestive issues with one severe bout of pancreatitis that required an all day stay in the doggie hospital with IV fluids. She lost 6 pounds in a week. Picture shown does not match description. I'm looking for an anti-itch spray. Bottle shows some sort of pills to calm your dogs allergy. Not sure why you don't have some sort of basic hydrocortisone spray for "hot-spot" or other itches. It works great and is inexpensive to buy.biff

My lab had hot spots recently. I bought this product and applied it to the affected area in addition to the antibiotic cream given by the vet. I had been using a couple similar products (same ingredients) with my dog since he started having gastrointestinal issues a few months ago. He's been to the vet and placed on several medications, probiotics, stool-hardening "pastes", etc., all with limited to no success. I've been having to home cook his meals since this all started, and have only been able to mix in small amounts of GI commercial/prescription food before the GI issues return. For a month, I had been giving him Kaolin/Pectin with 1 of 3 meals a day, and this seemed to help his stools stay firm. Except for the days I didn't add it to a meal, there was no diarrhea. Anyway, the other products were both out-of-stock, so I figured I would try this. The ingredients were the same, so I was hoping for the same effect. Unfortunately, there were ZERO reviews posted, so I had limited information to go by. My dog has had diarrhea every single day since he started receiving this, even after adding it to all 3 meals a day! I stopped adding in commercial food thinking it would help. It did not. I've noticed this formula isn't quite as thick as the other formulas, so maybe the ratio of ingredients is slightly different? Regardless, I would not purchase this again, nor would I recommend it. And now this product is "out-of-stock", so I wouldn't be surprised if others complained or had issues at well. I wish the product that worked better (and is cheaper) were available again.amt82

This product works great for my dog. She’s coonhound and beagle mix. When I first brought her home she shed something awful! HAIR WAS EVERYWHERE! I was at my wits end and so ready to rehome her due to the excess shedding. I stayed up all nite and googled and came across this product! She really loved the taste of it in the beginning, but now not so much, so I give her 1-2 tablespoons a day. I’m definitely keeping her on this for a while. The con: Can be a bit pricey, as You have to buy 2 or more bottles before you see results. And your pet may not like it! Cookie weighs about 25lbs. For the first 30days I had to give her 4 tablespoons a day sprinkled and mixed in her food. 2tblsp in the a.m and 2tblsp in the p.m. from the 16oz bottle so I ran out of the fish oil in less than a week. My baby pit bull loves this. She always seems hungry. Yet I feed her plenty and extra most days. Since adding this she seems satisfied for longer between feeding. I just drizzle most every bowl she eats with around a tablespoon. Her coat has become super shiny and smooth. Her dry patches at her elbows have gotten better as well. My baby had a tick bite on her neck that would not heal until started her on this. She also has more energy for play. And more responsive to new training. Recieved a 3oz bottle of Vetericyn Plus Hotspot Antimicrobial Hydrogel for free in exchange for an honest review. I have to say, this stuff is amazing! My lab/beagle mix suffers from skin allergies, and the poor thing will scratch and chew herself until she bleeds, so I was very eager to try this product. The day I received it, I rubbed down her belly with it (this is where she itches the most) and it seemed like she felt instant relief. When she starts scratching, I apply a thin layer of the gel and she stops almost immediately. And it lasts for hours! I love that it is a non-toxic alternative to antibiotics and steroids for a safer way to relieve skin, and vet approved. How does this product compare to other products you've tried? This product seems to be the equivalent to one that I was prescribed for my cat from the vet. The Vetericyn Plus Hotspot Antimicrobial Hydrogel, is a lot cheaper than the one prescribed. What are some benefits of owning this product? My cat seems to have a habit of biting her fur off, usually after I have put flea medication on her. We have discovered she is a bit allergic to ingredients in most flea medication. So, the Vetericyn Plus Hotspot Antimicrobial Hydrogel has helped with the dermatitis that has been caused by the allergies. Would you buy this product? My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I'd have to wrap his paws and watch him like a hawk. Not so with this! He stays away from it so it can work…bonus points bc spray plus consistency is easy application.
