My senior cat was diagnosed with Hypokalemia . Low potassium . He was put on this supplement and within 4 to 5 days, his appetite improved and his activity level. It's made a huge difference, and he is back to normal running around and grooming himself. He will be on this for the remaining years he has left. I suspect that this is a good, effective supplement for potassium in cats. My vet recommended it and said to just squirt it on a finger and wipe on the roof of the cats mouth so he had to swallow it. Why not make it taste like something cats like…fish, or liver, or chicken, or even shrimp or beef? I have used this product for several years on my kidney compromised canine with great results However this past year, it has been difficult to get this product still in tablet form, before it disintegrates into a powder. I have purchased it from several retailors and have had to take it back or send it back and get a refund. It doesn't matter what lot number, it has been several different ones. It's not a new fact that there is a quality control issue, as seen in others reviews. The pills turn to powder. I used to order these from Amazon, but had that issue there. I contacted Vetriscience and was told if I ordered directly, the issue would be resolved. 8 bottles later, it's not. My recent order had 4 bottles, all pills in powder form. I received a quick response from customer service, and a replacement order was sent. All of the replacement bottles are powder, and from the same lot number as the first shipment. My cat (14 years old ) was diagnosed with chronic kidney insufficiency a month ago. The cat I bought it for isn't crazy for it like the other users comments I read. I have to mix it in real cream and then he will eat/drink some of it. There is always left overs that the others drink also. And, I can't get him to drink it regularly some days he won't touch it. It also doesn't go as far as the other reviewer's said. I was devastated when my sweet kitty was diagnosed with renal failure. My vet told me she only had a few months to live. I did a lot of research and decided to start her on Azodyl and Epakitin at the same time. Normally, I would have tried one first, then added the other if necessary, but I had no time to waste. Within a few months, her kidney function tests were completely back to normal. My vet was totally shocked. Her kidney function remained normal for the next 3-4 years and she continued to take these 2 medications every day. Have had pain, aches and muscle inflammation for years particularly on my left knee, ankle and foot; to make matters worse about a year ago the Dr. diagnosed me with an osteoarthritic knee; before that time and since have used many products and devices (non-prescription) seeking to alleviate pain and inflammation. There was only ONE tab, not two. I had to tape my diaper in order for it to stay on my dog. These diapers are the WORST diapers I’ve ever seen. The instructions and all the pictures say there’s two tabs. I had to get long pieces of clear tape and tape the side that didn’t have the tab and the side with the existing tab to make sure it wouldn’t come off. I tried to put the first one back on my dog and there were holes in it when I took it off once because I had to tape it. I’ve never seen such poor quality things. I could’ve made a diaper and it would still be better than these diapers and I’m not the crafty type. If there was a zero star option I would put that. These are absolutely horrible.Human

This product works great for my dog. She’s coonhound and beagle mix. When I first brought her home she shed something awful! HAIR WAS EVERYWHERE! I was at my wits end and so ready to rehome her due to the excess shedding. I stayed up all nite and googled and came across this product! She really loved the taste of it in the beginning, but now not so much, so I give her 1-2 tablespoons a day. I’m definitely keeping her on this for a while. It’s much more convenient than having to melt coconut oil and applying it on her food. The pro: it definitely works! Plus Petco does price match in store with online! The con: Can be a bit pricey, as You have to buy 2 or more bottles before you see results. And your pet may not like it! I suggest holding on to the receipt, as I bought one for a friend and their pet didn’t care for it. The instructions say to double the dose for the first 30 days depending on the weight of your pet. Cookie weighs about 25lbs. For the first 30days I had to give her 4 tablespoons a day sprinkled and mixed in her food. 2tblsp in the a.m and 2tblsp in the p.m. from the 16oz bottle so I ran out of the fish oil in less than a week. My wife and I went in to grab this and ended up talking to a representative in the grooming who missed lead us and gave us false information and we ended up paying $150 for a de shed Bath. She said our dogs stop shedding in a few days but that was not the case two weeks later and it was worse than ever we ended up getting our money back for just a shedding but it wasn’t even the point. My baby pit bull loves this. She always seems hungry. Yet I feed her plenty and extra most days. Since adding this she seems satisfied for longer between feeding. I just drizzle most every bowl she eats with around a tablespoon. Her coat has become super shiny and smooth. Her dry patches at her elbows have gotten better as well. My baby had a tick bite on her neck that would not heal until started her on this. She also has more energy for play. And more responsive to new training. I had the chance to try Welactin on my Golden/Labrador retriever, Cooper, and I've finally found something that works! One of the biggest challenges I face with Cooper, is keeping hot spots under control. When seasons are changing It's always been a guaranteed visit to the vet, because his break outs would require a steroid shot or prednisone, along with very unattractive shave spots and what I assume very uncomfortable itchiness! With him getting older, I want to keep that at a minimum more than ever, as to keep easy on his liver and comfort. We did the 30 days trial at the prime time for Cooper to break out and his skin did not get irritated in the slightest! The price of this omega's supplement is very affordable too! Having an 80lb+ dog usually means higher doses and getting a lot less for your money, but one bottle for $24.99 lasted a solid month, and is way cheaper than multiple vet visits! I have highly recommended this product to everyone, as I have seen with my own eyes that it really works!
I have an eight year old Bernese Mountain Dog named Cooper. He has a long, fluffy, thick coat that had become dull. In using this product I found that his coat became softer in texture. I also noticed that some shine came back that he had lost due to age. He enjoys having people tell him how pretty he is! Cooper has some dietary issues and I was a little hesitant to add to his food however he tolerated this product very well. I would definitely recommend using this product and will continue to use the product.
Everytime I order this product it arrives with damage. The last time I ordered a few months ago I sent a message to Healthypets.com telling them that they need to package the Welactin so that the damage doesnt occur. it is a liquid. Hello……. It is simply put in a paper priority mailer and sent out. Yes there is a protective seal on the bottle but it still gets busted sometimes. What happened to a box with bubble wrap? My dog went into kidney failure at 8 1/2. Not sure what caused it, It could have been from a tick bite or he may have eaten something. He spent two nights in the emergency hospital on IV fluids. After two nights in the hospital The vet told me to put him down. Kidney levels were so bad he could not recover. When I Went to say my goodbyes I thought they would hand me a lethargic dog. Lollie, a Papillon mix rescue dog had her gallbladder removed a few years ago after terrible gastro intestinal issues that did not totally resolve after surgery. Full disclosure: 1.) I'm not a vet, and this is purely allegorical. 2.) We still don't know if my dog's kidney panel levels are improving. We will be scheduling an appointment soon. But with all of that out of the way, let me just say that I was at a low point in terms of hope for my 13-year old Pit mix. Diagnosed with chronic renal failure several years ago, she was placed on medication and a special (expensive!) canned food diet. She didn't mind it at first but over the years, started eating less and less. Even adding carby goodness in the form of rice and sweet potatoes or extra flavoring like low-sodium chicken broth became insufficient to entice her to eat. I was barely getting a can a day into her. She started at a 55 lbs and dropped below 40 in a relatively short time. She looked emaciated. Legs became week and wobbly. She had tremors and was pouting virtually 24/7. She was the most miserable she's been in our 13 years together. I was sure we were nearing the end. But in searching for solutions online, I ran across Dr Harvey's Canine Health (and subsequently the Kidney Health Supplement). I read all the reviews and decided it was worth a shot. About a month in, we've almost gotten through her first 10-lb bag and she's still begging for her food at every meal. I feel like I have my puppy back. She's started to put a little healthy weight back on and just seems to have so much more energy. We've cycled through chicken, steak, boiled egg whites, and salmon as the protein add-ons – making sure to keep an eye out for high phosphorous levels – and my dog is drooling at her bowl waiting for me to load it up at every meal. After years of desperately trying to get her to eat, I'm not sure I can express the weight that lifted off of me as this became (and continues to be) our daily routine! Again, I'll add this big caveat: I don't know yet if all of this is really helping stabilize her kidney issues. I'll come back to add to this review when we have that information. And I don't even know if my vet would condone this diet change (though we have had conversations about the balance between keeping her happy in her later years vs. following a strict medical regimen). What I do know is my dog was wasting away on a prescription diet and I had to make a call as a parent to make her remaining years happy and filled with yummy meals. That's my experience. I think it falls in line with the vast majority of other reviewers. If I had it to do all over again, I'd start with this type of diet from day one. I can identify everything in the bag just by looking at it. There's no mystery about what my girl is eating. That's worth the world to me. Added bonus, for what it's worth: Dr Harvey's food actually smells good. The prescription food cans were really unpleasant to deal with. My wife is smell-sensitive and didn't want them anywhere near our kitchen or people food. But she has actually commented that Canine Health smells like something she would eat for breakfast!

Dasuquin is an updated product from Nutramax. We gave Nutramax Cosequin to old German Shepherd and Australian cattle dogs that have since passed on because it gave them relief from joint pain that was obvious in the improvement in their ability to get up and lie down and run again. I'm giving maintenance doses of Dasuquin to two large dogs we have now that are age 4 and 5yr to extend the life of their joints. The ingredients are similar to human nutritional supplements for older people: Glucosamine, chondroitin, brewers yeast, dextrose, green tea extract, gum resin, lecithin, cellulose, mixed tocopherols, flavoring and soy protein. avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU) ….. We haven't used Dasuquin long enough for a long term review so my rating is based on previous experience with Nutramax products. The tablets are 3/4 inch in diameter. My dogs won't eat them as they are so I break them into fourths with my fingers and drop them into their food. The tablets are easy to break. I was told my dog had a luxating patella. We would hear his knee popping in and out all the time. I have an older dog with very bad breath. That is why I purchased Sea Dent. First I knew I would have to disguise this and not sprinkle on food. I use bits of snack cake with creme filling. Have a 15 year old rat terrier with very bad teeth, just due to her breed, and since taking this her bad breath is no longer as potent. Her teeth color has changed from green/black to light brown. Not even her dental visits have made this impact. She is food motivated, so is not a picky eater. My dogs' teeth were pretty clean to begin with no significant plaque / tarter build up, but after 2 weeks of using this, they are cleaner and look like they just came back from the dentist. I was worried that they would not like the taste. I put this in with their yogurt they get in the mornings and they eat it all up. So no issues on taste even with 1 who can sometimes be a bit picky. Piggy is mostly white with very pink skin. His pads of his feet are pink they are turning a little darker as he gets older . He has one eye smaller than the other and has no pupil response in either eye but can see shadows i think from one eye. I was suspecting he was a double Merle . I’d love to send a pic so you could see. His traits that you have said he has appearance wise was not accurate. He does have a touch of Merle coloring on his lower hip and leg. But he’s mostly white and very pink around the eyes and pads of feet even pink nose with a touch of black . I would have never guessed he was related to most of these other breeds. He does however have a look of a American Staffordshire terroir a little. His mom Looked like a Australian Shepherd or boarder collie we think. We adopted our family dog from a shelter on Christmas Eve a few years ago. Ever since she was a puppy, she had always displayed peculiar traits that didn't seem to align with the traits of the breeds the shelter had guessed for her. I have serious concerns that the sample for my dog was mixed up with another's. The report stated that my dog is 50% golden retriever (meaning one of his parents was 100% golden) and 13% chow, with the remainder being other breeds. I would expect that if my dog was truly 50% golden retriever, he should look something like a golden retriever. Sam does not. He LOOKS like he should be some variation of a Doberman and Shepherd. He has the coloring of both of those dogs (mostly black with tan/brown accents) has VERY short hair, lanky legs, and a long straight tail. I sent a follow-up email to Wisdom Panel when I first read the results and got no response. I should think that since this is partly scientific research, Wisdom Panel would want feedback when data does not result as expected. My Vet recommended this for our senior dog. She was diagnosed with a heart issue last year and our vet is hesitant to do the anesthesia necessary for teeth cleaning unless we absolutely have to. We started using this on her twice a day. I spray some on a small gauze pad and wipe around her teeth. Her teeth look better and it has definitely improved her breath. It is a peppermint-flavored base which freshens the breath. Main active ingredient used in this product is 0.1% clorhexidine acetate. This chemical is very helpful to wash away the bacteria. This product is really very effective and good but one should remember that in case the pet is suffering from periodontal disease it cannot be treated as original medicine’s replacement. Formerly, I used a product which I purchased at the Vet. When they couldn't get the product back in stock, I tried Nolvadent. It worked so well, my Vet's office asked what I was using. My Dog has not needed a dental cleaning in nearly two years. The veterinary staff now uses this product and recommends to their customers.Kerry

When reading the info on this product you could be excused for thinking if its half as good as it says its worth giving it a try. Believe me its worth the expense of delivery from the US. 2 of my horses had acquired cuts. One was on the body & the latter one was a nasty over reach. I purchased Schreiner's to try on the first injury which just wasn't reducing in size and kept opening slightly. It worked wonders & healed in no time. After having the over reach stitched & following the vets instruction we found we had got so far but not completely healed. I decided to try the half bottle of Schreiner's I had left and in no time at all the improvement was easy to see. I have just ordered 2 more bottles just to keep by me. Just one other thing to mention, it must sting initially so be light on your feet when first applying it.9jessica6
I have been using this for decades! It works with gruesome horse wounds and mild ones. Chickens can also be treated for injuries with great results. Dogs, cats and even a pet pig have had their wounds healed in record time cutting days to weeks to MONTHS off their lay up and recovery.
