I purchased this collar to go with the Garmin Pro 550. The system is of the highest quality, used by professional dog trainers who only want the best. Easy to pair with my existing transmitter and works exactly as intended. The only negative point I can make is the lack of colors. I have three hunting dogs, and my transmitter will work simultaneously with three collars. My transmitter has a color coded toggle in Red, Black and Blue to chose the dog that needs some encouragement. My transmitter came with a black collar, therefore, I just needed to buy a red and blue collar and all would be well in the world. Cabela's only sells this collar in Red! Great! One down, one to go. That is when I discovered that Cabela's only sells a "Red" additional collar when Garmin offers about ten different colors. This e-collar is definitely worth the extra money hands down as its a safer option for counter-conditioning out some nasty habits. Whether it be resource guarding, dog based aggressive tendencies, human based reactivity, or long-term rehabilitation of stubborn habits. This collar is the way to go. Larger dogs require larger solutions and this collar is much more comfortable as its not as sharp compared to some. this e collar is amazing. My 100lb plotthound is a wanderer. When the other two dogs were out playing in the yard, we'd have to keep him on a long lead, which prevented him from fully playing free with our other dogs. … we tried numerous times to start on the lead, then let him off and continuously do call and reward, but eventually, he'd always sneak over to the neighbors. With The Boss I'm able to correct his behavior from across the yard. It took less than one week to get him fully trained. Works on my 120lb Pyrenees lab mutt! He has thick hair. Hes stubborn as all heck. I had to turn the power down to 35% there is plenty left if a deer comes I can juice it up for his safety (if needed.) most of the time 35 will stop him. I rarely need to shock him now. He knows how to win. The only thing I use the collar for is the come here command as that is the most important command ever and I dont want to confuse him. The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. I am dog trainer, I have been using Electric Collars for over 15 years. I was married with another major brand for me it was the best brand on electric collars I even refused to try new ones. One day I was traveling to a seminar in Denver with my Mondioring sport dog and the TSA at the airport remove my 2 electric collars from my carry on bag. Once in the seminar I met a participant who has an extra 300TS and she offered to sell the collar to me I was in need of a collar so I agree and bought the collar from her. At the end of the 1rst day of the seminar I was almost convinced that the 300TS was superior to my other collars even my most expensive one. When I came back home I begin trying the 300TS with new dogs and I found it was far superior at every level. Let's begin, the handheld unit is very light and still fell very solid the buttons placement are very intuitive and is almost impossible to deliver the wrong correction to your dog, The vibration mode can be switched to sound mode which is the way I train my recall I always disable the vibrate mode and use the sound mode this great with skeptical people around electric collars. There is 2 delivery buttons the black which is the stem mode and the red which is the boost and deliver up to 20 times your stem level but thiscan be modified to fit you dogs needs, The level of electricity can be locked making impossible to shock your dog. Highly recommend! My dog never came when called . Now she does . She had other really unwanted behaviors that we had such a hard time getting rid of like nipping at our knees to get attention, pulling on her collar, bark at other dogs, and even rip the leash out of our hands while trying to walk her and run crazily through the backyard. It took me awhile to really use this product consistently, but I'm glad I did. I have a stubborn bulldog mix that I rescued from my local animal shelter and she had lots of bad habits that were getting worse over time. My dog's biggest problems were leash pulling, not listening to come/sit, jumping on our bed and – worst of all – aggression toward other dogs, usually while on walks, and even my husband. These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.
I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

I have been using these collars for a few weeks now on my 75 lbs pitbull and my 20 lb chihuahua/sheltie mix and they have been awesome. I have only used the beep and vibration and have made a world of difference in my house. my pitbull would jump and paw at us for attention which was hurting us due to his size. the beep stops the behaviors immediately and rarely have had to vibrate him. my pit also was being extremely possesive of food and starting fights at meal times. the beep makes him.stop instantly and he sits down. my chihuahua mix has a problem with getting on the table and stealing food and also barking non stop. he isnt as affected by the beep as my pitbull so I tend to have to use vibrate more often with him but he is slowly getting on the table less and less. I dont know why I waited so long to try these but I guess it's because I was one of those people who said they would never use a shock collar. I'm so glad I tried these collars before making any drastic decisions due to behavioral issues. the only downside/complaint I have is the charger comes with 2 ports so you can only charge one collar and the remote at the same time. if they are being sold in a 2 pack there should be suffice chargers to charge all 3 at the same time which is why I only gave 4 stars. the collars also tend to need to be resynced but it's an easy process to do.overall I'm very happy with the collarMandy
This collar works great! We have a 135 pound Saint Bernard that likes to run into our pasture with the cows. It definitely has enough kick to get her attention and the collar has plenty of room. All of the advertised capabilities work well , the directions for set up and use are easy to follow ,the collar comes with a testing block which nice , (I dont the shock function) the reason I rated it four 1/2 stars is the actual collar piece is made of plastic . I've tried several of these collars but my main issue has always been that they would need batteries every few days and the batteries were really expensive. This one is rechargeable – both the collar and the remote. I also love that it has the vibration feature so I can warn my dog before I actually have to "shock" her. So far since we've had it, she's only been shocked twice. She is a completely changed dog. We went from a dog who jumped up on me when I came in the house, barked at every person walking by and chased the cats incessantly to a very well behaved dog who now does none of those things. We rarely ever even have to use the stimulation. The product seems very sturdy and the remote is very colorful and bigger than most others so it never gets lost. It has a lanyard so you can wear it around your neck but that is somewhat awkward for me. I think that would be very useful when bringing her out in the public which is our next adventure.MichiganDogLover

Charged and set up exactly as the directions stated. The collar lasted for 4 vibration warnings within a 6 hour time frame and then completely stopped working and would not even recharge. It's being returned for a refund. After reading reviews on Walmart and Amazon, it seems that you have a 50/50 shot at getting a good one regardless of brand or price. The collar seems to work just find so far. The belt on the collar is much too long, but we just tuck it under his dog collar. It is simple to understand how to use it. The price, I feel, was reasonable. I like that it has a vibrator on it. You don't have to use the shock feature. Not sure if it covers 1100 yards as stated. but I like that it is waterproof.Bobbie

I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. Our lab/retriever cross became frightened of loud noises, using the collar has steadily improved the situation. It doesn't work immediately, be patient for a week or even two. A noise de-sensitisation CD (follow the instructions exactly) will also help considerably. Just check the tightness of the collar every few days because some dogs will scratch at it and can occasionally loosen it slightly – when cutting off the excess length leave an inch so that it doesn't fall off if the dog does scratch at it (they soon stop).Nicholas J
Very pleased with this product and seems to have calmed my anxious dog prior to Bonfire night. My only niggle is that the small collar was too small for my dog but the large is too big. Our 16 year old terrier became terrified of the car about a year ago – hyperventilating, fighting to get out – heartbreaking and we couldn't take her any further than our dogminders so we could go out on business. We bought the Adaptil collar about 3 weeks ago and she is far less frightened. Sits fairly comfortably without 'twitching' and doesn't fight to get out when the door is opened.
