I love this three step training collar. First you send a sound, then you send a vibrate, and if they dont respond to those, then you let them know youre serious. This collar has been training our dog quickly and only after wearing this collar twice she already knows the process and usually responds before you have to get serious. Thats exactly what you want. NEVER zap your dog unnecessarily. The sound could be louder for the human side of things, but I do know my dog is hearing it. The buttons are conveniently close together for switching from one step to the next. I recommend this collar for your training needs as its working very nicely for my training needs. I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus
I am, so far, very happy with the design of the collar and remote handset. I especially like that you can do either vibrate OR static corrections with this set, AND can adjust the level of stimulation, immediately, for each. My only complaint is that the slide on clip is NOT useful. It does not grab either a collar, belt, or pocket, to any real degree. It slips off easily and drops to the ground, to be either lost or damaged. It would be better to design a stronger spring clip or clamp that is stronger. Because it continues to fall from where it is clipped, I am forced to hold it in my hand continually. Giving the dog a visual cue that I have control handy. It is more useful for the dog no not be able to connect such an association. Putting it in my pocket results in a possible inadvertent correction to the dog unnecessarily. Although I like many aspects of this product, and being a professional dog trainer, it would be nice to be able to recommend an affordable, good quality product. But because of the handset clip, I hesitate to do so. If this design was addressed, I would recommend it.dpcclm
My dog used to jump on anyone that came over and she was hard headed about listening. Been using for about a month now and have only shocked her once (on level 2) and now she listen with or with out wearing collar. We still put it on her every day and especially if company is coming over, but she knows when she hears the beep she's gone to far in pushing her luck. Most of time beep gets back in line and if not vibrate does. Can't beleave we waited so long to get one. Now friends and family can come over again and we don't worry about her jumping up on our guest particularly little kids. We put it on her in the morning and take it off before bed time and turn collar off at night and battery will last almost 2 weeks on collar before charging (wonted to see how long battery would last between charges) , Generally now we charge it once a week over night and haven't had it die yet while she's been wearing it. Can't say how water proof it is at this point haven't allowed her in the water with it yet. Only complaint is as others have stated it's easy to change channels on transmitter if your not paying attention. But have gotten used to looking at transmitter before pushing button. Besides If your going from Beep to vibrate your gonna wanna see what you have it set to before you use transmitter again, so I don't find it that big of a deal.jnmpatterson4

These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.
I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

Finally, I found the perfect system for my needs. have two dogs on the collar for walking. I walk them in the woods and sometimes they'll run off to chase something. I use the collar to keep them in check but still allow them to run. I've tried three other training collars and my issues with all were- 1. I had to re-connect the collars to the transmitter after each recharge. 2. Switching quickly between the dogs took too many steps to switch. 3- The range of them were not as advertised. This system solves everyone of those issues. It's the best one I've found that has no programming after charge. The charge last longer. No 9v battery required to transmitter. Used this item with two dogs, both strays. One vets says was probably born in wild. Both been with us about 2 years now but both run free whenever they can. Used collars without the probes fitted. worked one morning with them, Tone not bad but vibrant works a treat. Now tone works well. Both dogs now stay within bounds. I have been using these collars for a few weeks now on my 75 lbs pitbull and my 20 lb chihuahua/sheltie mix and they have been awesome. I have only used the beep and vibration and have made a world of difference in my house. my pitbull would jump and paw at us for attention which was hurting us due to his size. the beep stops the behaviors immediately and rarely have had to vibrate him. my pit also was being extremely possesive of food and starting fights at meal times. the beep makes him.stop instantly and he sits down. my chihuahua mix has a problem with getting on the table and stealing food and also barking non stop. he isnt as affected by the beep as my pitbull so I tend to have to use vibrate more often with him but he is slowly getting on the table less and less. I dont know why I waited so long to try these but I guess it's because I was one of those people who said they would never use a shock collar. I'm so glad I tried these collars before making any drastic decisions due to behavioral issues. the only downside/complaint I have is the charger comes with 2 ports so you can only charge one collar and the remote at the same time. if they are being sold in a 2 pack there should be suffice chargers to charge all 3 at the same time which is why I only gave 4 stars. the collars also tend to need to be resynced but it's an easy process to do.overall I'm very happy with the collarMandy
This collar works great! We have a 135 pound Saint Bernard that likes to run into our pasture with the cows. It definitely has enough kick to get her attention and the collar has plenty of room. Love the beep and vibrate mode (all we use now) and the range is great. Even with her longer hair, it still works effectively.Jason

All of the advertised capabilities work well , the directions for set up and use are easy to follow ,the collar comes with a testing block which nice , (I dont the shock function) the reason I rated it four 1/2 stars is the actual collar piece is made of plastic . ( it does the job) , I purchased a thin leather collar and it works great. Other than that the device is well worth the price.john

Bought a second collar to be able to sync with my existing collar and two-channel controller. The new collar uses a different power mode and syncing system and is not compatible with the older version, so you will have to just carry two controllers. Still a good product. DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF ILL DESIGNED JUNK!!!!! The buttons are ill conceived with the "Mode" button large and center. The mode button changes the collar from light, tone, vibrate or shock. The "fire" button is located in the upper right and is hard to locate-impossible without looking at the unit so this piece of junk is useless for what it was supposedly designed to do. You will spend your time screwing around with the control unit rather than giving your dog timely correction and input. And it HAS NO LOCK BUTTON!!!! It will fire accidently and at level 99 and SHOCK YOUR DOG FOR NO REASON!! Don't waste your money on this piece of GARBAGE!Marie
The default settings are made to cover any liability of the manufacture, there to low to have any effect on the dog. I had to increase the intensity on all modes I have only used this a few times but suspect this won`t be strong enough to train my dog. This might work on a small dog, and like I said I just started using the collar and have yet increase the power past 70.rikstark69

Yet again, like other cheaper models to the Garmin, this collar claims to have anti bark but it is horribly unuseful. It goes off anytime my dog shakes her head and j can tell and set off the collar. For one year Old English Lab. Not neutered, was getting a little defiant, and was running out into the street, and eating ALL KINDS of garbage. Was reticent to get a shock collar, I could NEVER hurt any animal, but only had to shock him ONCE in two weeks ! He is a different Dog ! As long as you follow the "Command, beep, vibrate order?" He now stops his running away, AND drops any "food" he finds usually just from the beep ! Half the time just the command works ! (Which NEVER did) He knew I was too old to catch him, so there was never any consequence to his misbehavior. I truly feel this thing will probably save his life, either by not getting run over, or from a blockage or poison he'd pick up on the walks. Labs eat EVERYTHING !sobrmn5
We love this collar. We purchased another shock collar previously and this one is by far superior. The battery life is great and my dog responds to the beep, vibrate, and I rarely have had shock him bc the other 2 work so well. This collar has a long range and I am able to beep him when he is doing something he shouldnt outside without having to be close to him. I love that this remote locks so our little ones dont shock him. This has helped us teach him the behaviors to avoid and he has become such a better dog.
