I have a pup that is a large breed, he looks like I been feeding him steak and potatoes cause he's so dang big. He is ALL puppy though. Chews on everything loves running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Been trying to train him to chill with me, yeah, right. He wants to play. And because he wants to play, he wants to run every stinkin where. Decided, for my sanity as well as his safety, I'd get this thing. Put the flags out, set it on a low static charge, and it didn't take long before he figured it out. You DO have to WORK a dog with this. It's not just a plug it up and watch their hair shoot up when they get popped. Walked him around the perimeter for 7 days, he sees and sniffs the flags. After that, I let him run around, and he got popped maybe 3 times, and figured it out. Now he's pretty dang happy, and I can let him rip around with zoomies while I work in the yard. I have a 2 yr old LARGE French Mastiff that weighs 180ish! I bought with the (red in color) “stubborn” collar. We previously installed a wired underground fence. (Which I have to mention took 2 FULL DAYS TO INSTALL AND READY TO USE!!) My Bo would realize he was close to the boundary, take a step or two back then take a run right through it, with no second thought!!! We watched him do this several times. I guess he was thinking, well this is going to hurt but only for a few short seconds. Idk?? But it did NOT phase him one bit! I had talked to 4 or 5 people that had this system, so reluctantly I decided to give it a try. I thought to myself well if it doesn’t work I will simply return it, no harm no foul. My boyfriend had it installed and collar on Bo in 30 mins flat. We walked ole hard-headed Bo around maybe 4 times to show him the boundaries. Once he heard the beeping, he kept walking then he felt the shock 1 time and that must have been enough because he never ventured close again! It has been about 2 months of use and I would give it 100 STARS IF IT WAS AN OPTION! We live in a subdivision where houses are fairly close. I was ultimately worried that the zone would lead into the neighboring yard. (which was the #1 thing we are trying to prevent) And although it may, Bo doesn’t even attempt to go that far. I believe he now understands to stay in his own yard! Living in a subdivision, many people take walks and Bo just sits and watches them now!! Matter of fact, just to see, we have sent him outside WITHOUT the collar and ironically enough HE STAYS IN OUR YARD!! The ONLY complaint I have is the small clear piece on the collar broke off the first time I went to adjust the strength of the shock. So far it hasn’t effected anything so fingers crossed on that! Just an FYI, we set ours on a level 3 to begin with and my boyfriend was ready to give up, so I told him to have some patience and we just kept adjusting the level on the collar and we ended up discovering for Bo he needed to be set on a #6. Again, I repeat he weighs 180 lbs, and the Mastiff bread is KNOWN for their stubbornness. I would suggest starting at the lowest level for a smaller dog PLEASE! But, if you are hesitant as myself, about this system just give it a try AND I PROMISE YOU WILL BE SO SURPRISED!!!!! I love this system, and just hope that it lasts!!!!!!Owner of French Mastiff

The Dogtra Arc collar is just what my American Treeing Feist, 11 month puppy needed. I had borrowed the same collar from my daughter for about a month, but she needed it back, so for the past two months he had begun to get a little independent in the woods. As soon as I put the new Arc collar around his neck, he was a changed dog. Even without paging him, he began to hunt about 75 yards out and would return to check on me every few minutes. Whenever he gets out of sight, and seems to wander too long, I simply "page" him about three seconds and he comes running. Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. I purchased this collar to go with the Garmin Pro 550. The system is of the highest quality, used by professional dog trainers who only want the best. Easy to pair with my existing transmitter and works exactly as intended. The only negative point I can make is the lack of colors. I have three hunting dogs, and my transmitter will work simultaneously with three collars. My transmitter has a color coded toggle in Red, Black and Blue to chose the dog that needs some encouragement. My transmitter came with a black collar, therefore, I just needed to buy a red and blue collar and all would be well in the world. Cabela's only sells this collar in Red! Great! One down, one to go. That is when I discovered that Cabela's only sells a "Red" additional collar when Garmin offers about ten different colors. Since Cabela's does not offer the Blue collar, I am forced to purchase the blue collar somewhere else. These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.

I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

This e-collar is definitely worth the extra money hands down as its a safer option for counter-conditioning out some nasty habits. Whether it be resource guarding, dog based aggressive tendencies, human based reactivity, or long-term rehabilitation of stubborn habits. This collar is the way to go. Larger dogs require larger solutions and this collar is much more comfortable as its not as sharp compared to some. this e collar is amazing. My 100lb plotthound is a wanderer. When the other two dogs were out playing in the yard, we'd have to keep him on a long lead, which prevented him from fully playing free with our other dogs. … we tried numerous times to start on the lead, then let him off and continuously do call and reward, but eventually, he'd always sneak over to the neighbors. With The Boss I'm able to correct his behavior from across the yard. It took less than one week to get him fully trained. Works on my 120lb Pyrenees lab mutt! He has thick hair. Hes stubborn as all heck. I had to turn the power down to 35% there is plenty left if a deer comes I can juice it up for his safety (if needed.) most of the time 35 will stop him. I rarely need to shock him now. He knows how to win. The only thing I use the collar for is the come here command as that is the most important command ever and I dont want to confuse him. We installed the in ground wire around the perimeter of our property. I have one dog that digs under our fence and one that climbs the fence. These collars keep our dogs away from the fence and keeps them from running out into the street. We have had our fence for 5 years now and only replaced the collars once because I misplaced them. Batteries need replacement every few months. I like that the dogs get a beeping warning once they are within a few feet of the perimeter and only get shocked if they cross the boundary.fldolphinmc

I purchased this one as I wanted a wireless version vs the perimeter one I had to bury. We use this when we go fishing as well as around the house. We have only had to use the continuous shock once at level 2. The tone works so well we dont really need the other features but we have them just in case, our dog decides to be really stubborn in the future. My favorite is how easy it is to use, charge and the fact the tone is the best way to get my dog's attention. It has not taken long for him to know the remote goes to his collar and that just showing him he knows to heel or the tone sound will come on and get his attention quickly. My sister is purchasing one as well since my purchase, as she has seen how much it has helped our strong willed dog. He just needed a little extra guidance for his safety as we live off a highway and next to woods with coyotes. Literally bought this as my second attempt first was a petsafe wireless fence and it wasn’t as user friendly as this petsport with a remote. I’m able to keep basic corrections in house and outside in the yard! I was worried it wouldn’t be small enough for my mini Heeler but the collar comes with an abundant amount of holes for proper fit on anything ! Supper pleased with the collar and the three bases it has for training. The beep tone the one hit simulation and the longer hit stimulation gives me theee options to ask my dog according to what she’s doing. I like that it can be supper mild and allow her the chance to be asked nicely and then reinforced mildly and then reinforcement with a sterner setting. A true life saver. My pup was running out to the neighbors across the street and up to meet cars it literally only took thirty mins in house training on basics and then outside yard training for a little under an hour! I am now no longer stressed about her getting hurt she comes right back to me and treats me as I am her safe spot! If you use this properly, it is a great training tool. I use it on my 13 pound pomeranian, and he absolutley went to rock start training status with the mini educator. I think the biggest thing for me was that I was educated first on how to use it. I worked with a professional and certfied dog trainer first to ensure I was using this device effectively. I typically use this between a setting of 6-10, which I can not feel when place directly and firmly on my own neck. I typically can't feel anything until it hits a 14. It is NOT used to inflict pain, but a stimulation in order to get the desired response from the dog. I also use it in conjunction wiht positve reinforcement with treats. I can now walk my little dude through the city, with no leash and he stays right by my side. I rarely have to use the stimulation. While it is not often that I walk him without a leash, this gives me the freedom to do so. It gives both myself and my dog more confidence in training and obedience.latsirk

I was real unsure about using any electronic collar for training, however, our trainer reassured us and provides this product to her clients. We we allowed to feel the stimulation that is needed for my rowdy pittie and it is barely a tickle, but somehow it works. I've been using this unit on my own for several days now and love it. I have not had to go above 11, which I held up to my own neck. It's a very slight stimulation that somehow gets her attention and is working wonderfully. Generally i keep it between 7and 9 which i can't feel at all. Purchased for my bull arab (50kg) who goes barking mad on the way to the beach in the tray of the ute. It's only excitement but upsets all other dogs around. I only put it on 3-4 and he barked once, then was quiet for the rest of the ride. Exactly what i was after Only ever have had to use it on level 2 and it has shocked my dog maybe twice and she doesn’t really bark much at all anymore. I only have to put it on every now and again if she gets barky again but it’s made an amazing difference in our home. Our dogs were barking all day everyday and we live on a corner block so whenever anyone walked past they would bark their heads off and wake the baby. Now they walk to the fence and sniff. We have a very very stubborn German Shepherd male who barks through all of the cheaper collars we have bought him. I swear he barks at the wind or an ant crawling past the gate it was unbearable and many many sleepless nights. We bought the Dogtra YS600 and had to buy longer prongs as his hair is SO thick. Setting 1 and 2 did not do anything so we turned it up to level 3 and he barked and let out a big Yelp! And was quiet straight away. The 435 X series is really nice and has a small remote control that fits into my hand (I am only 5'4). The XS series is stronger (for large dogs that can be stubborn) and was too much for my need… that's why I really wanted the X series. The 825 X is the same as the 425 X except is has a longer distance reach (1/2 mile) but the remote is a little big bigger. Works great…. make sure you read the manual for the different settings and understand that this is not a training tool per say but a corrective tool (meaning your dog has to know and understand commands BEFORE using it)…Do NOT use as a punitive tool. The nice thing is this item allows you to choose either tone, vibration, or static mode. 99% of the time I only need to use vibration for my dog to get his attention (he cN get sobfocused on a scent that he doesn't pay attention to my commands). He sometimes takes off after a rabbit/wild pig etc. and that's when I have to use the static mode to quickly get his attention away from his chase. I really like that it is waterproof (my dog swims into ponds and rivers)…some other brands claim to be waterproof but really mean to say water resistant! I have tried everything I knew with this dog, built a relationship with him, treats, toys, praise and I wasn’t able to find anything that would motivate him to actually follow the commands that I knew he knew. I was afraid to use a “shock collar” because I thought it was going to be cruel but it had been 5 months where this 3 year old pit was with me and there seemed to be no progress. I really was not able to find something that worked. I was at a loss and willing to try just about anything. I watched some of the training videos on sportdog’s page. I ended up buying this and I charged it up like they said. I then tried it on myself first. I was very surprised, it reminded me of a tens machine that the chiropractor uses, not what I thought it was going to be at all. It’s been 3 days since I started to use this collar (425XS) and he is responding to voice commands now and the “beep” function on the collar. It is a pleasure taking him out and I’m sure he enjoys not having to be on just a 6’ leash and he gets to run around.Trucker Jeff

Bought this for the intention of training my bulldog to stop running out of our driveway. Never had to use the vibration setting only the beep setting, and seems to work perfectly. Let me prequalify this by saying that I am a fan of PetSafe Products. The Stay and Play Wireless fence and the Large Dog Citronella Anti-Bark Collars have worked flawlessly for my medium size indoor/outdoor pup. I also have a 1.5 year old Yorkie, and the PetSafe Elite Little Dog Spray Bark Control has design and operational flaws that I can't overlook: 1. The unit's sensor is not a typical rear sensor, and it doesn't pick-up normal barking unless it is high intensity (this is WHEN it works). 2. The unit does not last for the full amount of sprays. 3. The unit has to be at a high level of tightness to the point of almost choking the dog to remain in place in order to be correctly positioned to both pick-up the barking and deliver the spray. 4. The unit does not have an ON/OFF switch other than turning the battery, and then you have to manipulate even that when wanting to reset the bark counter. The bark counter should be reset in the electronics when the battery is removed if that's the case and reflect this in the refill directions for the spray. At the end of the day, I have use spray collars for my outdoor dog at my home for years, so I am familiar with the quirks. I have remained faithful to PetSafe, and they never let me down. The Elite Little Dog Spray collar is not up to their usually high standards. I have bought one, exchanged one, and bought another to give this product a fair chance, and I am heading to Petco this morning to return the last one as a disappointed customer. I have moved to an apartment from a home in the process of building a new house, so it is imperative that I be able to reinforce that excess barking is not acceptable. I bought two of these and neither of them worked. The first one worked for about a week of occasional use. Then it started leaking a steady, tiny hiss of spray from the intake hole. Months later, on a road trip w/now 2 small dogs I picked up 2 of the older, silver models that use the 6 volt batteries. They still work great (2 years later, intermittent use for overnights away from home or having exciting visitors that the dogs celebrate vocally, Enthusiastically, unceasingly. Also for occasional backyard relaxing if the neighbor kids get the dogs too excited.) I shared one with my sister for her dog on a hotel overnight and it was a revelation to her. I tried to buy her one but can only find the new “elites” with that proprietary battery so I caved, hoping the leaky one I had was a fluke. I got a few inconsistent sprays out of it, many barks without spray, then it just quit completely. I tried a new battery, refilled the spray and The lights did their thing correctly when I followed the steps to turn it on. Then I tested it by loudly barking right up against The back of it, tapping the back of it, holding it against my own throat and trying different tones of loud singing and yelling… nothing. I’ve wasted too much $ on the bad new design ones that don’t work. I really wish I could get another old silver model one to give my 4 legged niece. Obviously the requirement of a $15 proprietary battery makes this PetSafe’s preferred model to make, regardless of it’s consistent failure to function. Disappointing.JenMN

First of all I have a very heavy 180 gallon tank that's up against the wall. So the only way to install this background is to completely empty my tank and remove all my fish so I can move the tank away from the wall to acess the back. I purchase this background assuming that it will include everything I need to install the product. So I sprayed it with water from a spray bottle and smoothed it out with a squeegy as directed. It looked great when finished so I put the tank back in place and filled it back up with water and fish. The next day it absolutely looked AWFUL. It started to bubble and peel off and was filled with scratches. So I wasted a whole day of work emptying, moving and filling my tank because the directions failed to tell me that IT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT THE GEL. Now I'm stuck with a huge tank in my living room that have bubbles and scratches until I find time to fix it without stressing out my fish. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THEY INCLUDED THE GEL OR TELL ME THAT I NEED TO PURCHASE THE GEL FOR IT TO WORK.precious1964

This seed is great! I only buy from this site and Wild Birds Unlimited. I find the quality between the two to be equivalent. I buy from whomever offers the lower price. Although, I have to say I prefer the packaging from Drs. Foster and Smith, so sometimes I buy from here even if it's a little more. I always buy in bulk, which usually means I'm stuck lugging around giant packages. If you buy seed in bulk from Drs. F&S they send you the quantity you wanted, but in much smaller individual bags. This is awesome because it keeps fresh longer, is easier to store, and I don't have to deal with managing unwieldy giant bags. I definitely recommend this seed!o0MW0o

Our birds LOVE this seed blend. I've purchased other bird and finch seed from a couple different chain stores over the years and usually the best the store had. Apparently it wasn't as good as I thought! This seed is much cleaner, no sticks or chunks. This product has been AWESOME for our 6 lb and 8 lb chihuahuas! We do not use the shock function. The noise and vibrate options are sufficient for recall as well as correction when they are barking! LOVE having one device to control both. Previously, we had 2 remotes for 2 e-collars. We have found this to be a humane way to encourage the behavior we want to see. It has also allowed us some off leash freedom because they sprint back immediately when they hear the beep on their collar. Thank you!!!Momof3

I have a couple items from Patpet already and have had great experiences with them and their customer service. I needed a two dog system, so decided to get this one. I do like how small the receivers are on this. My dog who is scared of everything likes this one better than the larger one we have. Also, my 100 lb dog is responding well to it, and she is quite stubborn and is very good at ignoring things. The beep feature on this one seems to get her attention a lot better than some others. I only wish it had a lanyard on the remote, or at least a place to add one.nicole

These collars work great! One controller for two collars is so handy. Our dogs learned very quickly to stop barking if we just beep their collars. It really distracts them from what they are barking about. I like that I get to control the collar, rather than the noise activated type. That way it can be used to correct them when they are doing something other than just barking, such as jumping up on someone or trying to steal the other dog’s toy. The batteries don’t have to be charged very often either. Great way to train your dogs.Cathy

Purchased this collar from Chow Down pet supplies. It had absolutely zero effect on my dog. He completely ignored whatever sound was coming from the device. I threw this away and got a much pricier static correction collar that has customizable settings. No comparison, much more effective… don't waste your money on cheap pet safe products.D Cooper

When I first got my puppy at 6 months old he would constantly bark. I was told at the store this is not a very good bark training collar, but if I wanted something inexpensive to try it and if it didn’t work I could return it. I was then hesitate that it didn’t work, but still tried it and loved it! Every time he barked you could see the light flash on it. 1 downfall is the collar can be easily rotated around the neck no matter how tight you have it if the scratches at it. It needs to be kept in the front of the dogs neck, and as high up the neck as possible. So you have to keep adjusting it, but I also found it shocks them if they are doing something they aren’t supposed to, and when you yell loudly at them it shocks them as well. So it serves a multipurpose of bark control, and obedience. I only had to use it on my dog for less than a week, and he stopped the constant barking, chewing, and was 100% more obedient! I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on training collars, or bark collars! Worked great!Lauj

my dog can’t even shake his head without getting a correction. Almost any sound cause him to get a correction so it is scary and confusing for him. It would be nice if there was a sensitivy adjustment but the collar as designed is not helpful. The average bark of a dog compared to the sounds that are setting this off are not the same and all will cause the dog anxiety due to the false stimulations.Heather52

This was purchased to replace an item that didn't work very well and was more expensive. The design is great. We use the tone and the static. We use the tone first and if that doesn't work then we use the static. It is set on the lowest setting but still works well so if you have to use the static then start with the lowest setting. We haven't had to use the static hardly any since he has learned if he doesn't obey by the tone then he will get the static. It doesn't harm them. I've seen ratings where people didn't use the static and if you don't have to that's great but sometimes you have one very energetic and stubborn so it's a must. That's why the option is there.basc

This product is awesome for my use! I live on a State Road that’s busy at times! My dog always has his collar on when I let him loose! It has trained him not to go out to the road! So I use this collar every day! Also the operation is very easy! I dont have to look at a screen to see what it is set on! Basically used the tone button or the shock button if needed! I have not had to use the shock very much at all over the years! Also so convenient when hunting! I can keep my eyes on my dog to know what’s going on with him without having to look again at some screen for my settings! Easy to use and they have lasted much longer than any other collar I have had over the years! There’s nothing better out there for this price and dependable operation!Truggles

This is the best recall collar… It is easy… So simple… You never will by mistake "Zap" your dog… Most recall collars are way too digital and way too complicated… I have actually purchased two more s backup in case they stop making this great product and go digital also… I HOPE NOT..
