Very happy I chose to try out this product. My cat has had upper respiratory problems in the past and sometimes he gets stuffed up and has trouble sneezing out any blockage he has, and with that comes some slight wheezing almost as if he is trying to pass a hairball. My 18 month male cat came home very poorly and developed a very nasty cough, the vet diagnosed asthma so gave him a steroid injection and said when they neutered him they would cray him. So I searched the Internet for something that would help him, the first couple of doses I did put in a small amount of food but I then tried it on a spoon and he lapped it up like a good boy. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I'd have to wrap his paws and watch him like a hawk. Not so with this! He stays away from it so it can work…bonus points bc spray plus consistency is easy application. My 12 year old Chihuahua has heart disease and collapse trachea. These help with the cough without going to the extreme of using pharmacological medications. In my opinion the risks of pharmaceutical drugs out weight the benefits. He was prescribed hydrocodone for cough and the risk and how it changed his personality and he would not eat. He has always had a good appetite and after taken him back off this drug after 2 days of use. He is eating good and much better using Creative Science cough Tabs. I highly recommend trying this first. In most cases it will not Eliminate the cough, but will decrease it Drastically enough without going to more extreme measures.Jeffery
My sckipperkee had a terrible cough the vet said was caused by a narrowing trachea. While I have to give her these cough tablets three times a day, her cough has gone away. I was very surprised with how well it worked. My cats nose cleared up quite nicely. I think the taste wasn't so good for her though. Maybe you can figure a way to give it a flavor cat's like. I turned to this product for my cat after everything else failed. She has a chronic sinus infection that did not respond to multiple rounds of two different antibiotics. She stopped eating and was losing weight. I put drops of this on her food twice a day and she seems to tolerate it. I cannot dose her directly into her mouth, being a cat once was enough and she wriggles free when I try to dose her. She is not cured but is much better and her quality of life is much improved. Our vet prescribed Vetprofen for our twelve year old dog when he started having mobility issues. The Vetprofen does an excellent job, helping him run and hike and play. My 10 year old Westie has been on various medications and most recently monthly injections for his endless scratching and even to the point of pulling out some of his fur. My dog had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on after having a few teeth pulled. The itch was driving him crazy. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. The Adaptil helps with my dogs separation anxiety some, he has an extreme case of it. So anything that will help is worth trying. I believe in less extreme cases it would work even better, that is only my own option. I have been working with my Vet to relieve his extreme separation anxiety and the Adaptil is one of the things I use.Momalyn632
I cannot 100% say that Comfort Zone does not work, but for my dog's anxiety needs, it does not appear to work. My dog is clever, the Thundershirt stopped being even mildly useful because she recognized that something nerve-wracking was about to happen when I put it on her and would start getting worked up. Trying to work around this I sprayed her blanket and area under a nightstand she likes to rest under immediately upon receiving the product and would respray a few spritzes every so often, regardless of lack of incoming storms or fireworks. A mild rain fell one night during sleeping hours and she did seem mostly calm. However a few nights later a storm with thunder and heavy rain came in and she started her pacing and panting. The Comfort Zone may help moderately, and perhaps other dogs' anxieties can truly be helped, but for me, it likely was not worth the $$.
