I've been a dog trainer for going on a decade now. At least once a month I have people who come to me because they can't get their dogs to stop chewing on their shows, electrical cords. Pretty much anything they can get their chompers on. There are some training options that I use to curb the behavior, but they don't work in all dogs. A lot of times it's just because the owners can't give puppies enough time to actually stop the chewing. The dogs get anxious and they start biting everything in sight. Like a lot of people, I bought a bottle of Chew Not because I got a puppy that would not stop chewing. He was the cutest little chihuahua, but nothing I did could get him to stop. I even put him in a cage when I was away from the house. He would literally chew on the metal wires. It got so bad that I was worried about him hurting himself. I asked the vet what I could do to stop this and she suggested that I get something very bitter that the dog would hate. She also wondered if the problem was related to the dog's new teeth coming in. I bought the P.H. travel set to see if this would help my highly allergic, health challenged Scottish Terrier. (I've tried so many things, prescription and non prescription) Shes constantly on antibiotics for the sores that crop up all over her body and stomach from allergies. At this time shes on her 3rd round of antibiotics and still the sores on her stomach still look bad. 4 nights ago I started coating those sores with the skin soother mini stick everynight before bed. I checked her tummy this morning, wow!! All healed up. So sorry I didn't take a before picture. I'm sure my phone was listening to me trying to figure out what was going on with my pup's lips/jawline/snout- a natural dog co. ad appeared on my feed (s/o to surveillance?). The before and after pics were pretty convincing so I gave it a shot. We thought this package was a great way to sample all of the products and we're pretty impressed with the results. She had developed some nasty "puppy acne" from the bacteria collection on her surgery cone. We would wipe the bumps and sores with wipes and then apply the skin soother and wrinkle balm. Recieved a 3oz bottle of Vetericyn Plus Hotspot Antimicrobial Hydrogel for free in exchange for an honest review. I have to say, this stuff is amazing! My lab/beagle mix suffers from skin allergies, and the poor thing will scratch and chew herself until she bleeds, so I was very eager to try this product. The day I received it, I rubbed down her belly with it (this is where she itches the most) and it seemed like she felt instant relief. When she starts scratching, I apply a thin layer of the gel and she stops almost immediately. And it lasts for hours! I love that it is a non-toxic alternative to antibiotics and steroids for a safer way to relieve skin, and vet approved. How does this product compare to other products you've tried? This product seems to be the equivalent to one that I was prescribed for my cat from the vet. My cat seems to have a habit of biting her fur off, usually after I have put flea medication on her. We have discovered she is a bit allergic to ingredients in most flea medication. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I'd have to wrap his paws and watch him like a hawk. Not so with this! He stays away from it so it can work…bonus points bc spray plus consistency is easy application. Ever since I adopted my little Angel a few months ago, I've wanted to get rid of her overly flaky coat and large amount of shedding. My vet first prescribed the standard fatty acid capsules. They were too large to administer by themselves and with pill pockets. Squeezing the liquid into Angel's wet food was out of the question as well, as she is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to supplementing her food with vitamins, medicines, etc. and refused to touch her dinner if it had the liquid in it. Exasperated, I purchased Ark Naturals Royal Coat and crossed my fingers, hoping she wouldn't reject it. Success! Angel actually seems to like her wet food even more with Royal Coat mixed in it. I am happy to report that, after only two weeks of use, much of her dandruff has disappeared, her coat is really beautiful and shiny, and she sheds a lot less these days. I was told I was adopting an "allergy" dog, and that the dog would likely need to be on allergy meds for the rest of her life. That was in addition to an omega oil supplement I was supposed to give her. I would see what would happen to her coat the minute I took her off of the RX drug, but was still determined to find a natural remedy. This spray was completely ineffective! It seemed to not even bother my nearly 1 year old puppy. By all accounts I could've soaked the items not wanting to be chewed in a bucket of a Fooey, an it would've had no effect. In fact the only one it did have an effect on was me when l accidentally got it on my hands, and are dinner later on that evening. I only wasted 5 bucks plus shipping. No animal will want to lick wherever you spray this more than once.I got this before my dog got spayed. I put a little on a q-tip and put it near her incision (not on it). She licked it once. This spray works but only if you are training a puppy/dog on being better at not chewing but nothing permanent (atleats that what it has done for me). My puppy hates the taste even the smell (she can smell it) even though it has no smell. She usually stops chewing or miss behaving (shes kinda scared of it) the moment i spray this on the object or just let her smell it. I did try as it says on the bottle to spray (like once) the objects and puppy/dog will stop, that did not work completely. I started spraying things like every few hours to get my puppy to stop completely and that was too much. 3rd week in – on Itch Support Gold and my groodle Humphrey has finally stopped chewing his paws. He is regularly at the vet with "hot spots", and ear infections; and is usually constantly chewing his paws. I am truly thankful for the person who designed this product. Our little 5 week old stray that showed up at our home did so with a dislocated paw and a huge pressure sore where she had been walking on the side of her leg. Our local vet and myself had been trying everything to help her. She is just so active now that she's feeling better, and we couldn't find anything to help. Then, I ran across your website and found the front splint that she needed. She has been using it for 5 days now. The biggest problem we have is keeping her in it. Her little leg is so small, and even with the extra foam, she can get her leg out! I've had to come up with some of my own ideas to keep her leg in it. She is going to be a challenge to get her back to walking.Jada

My dog had pins in hock joint & splint is not helping her , unable to use it . I started to return it , but took my dog to a different vet. Yesterday & he removed pins , & she will need more surgery for ligament & tendon repair . I don’t know as of moment if my dog will ever get to use the splint . It’s perfect condition I only put on her for a minute & realized it won’t fit as needed because her leg hock joint is a train wreck . I have carpet so it’s just as it was when I received it . The vet even talked of amputation yesterday so I’m pretty depressed about the whole situation. Can I return the brace , hopefully another dog can use it . I was very curious when I got this for my pup because this is a unique type of dog treat that is great for dental health as well as allergies and the best part, all natural. I have never tried this brand before with Rosie but after reading more about the brand I love that all of Zesty Paws products contain only natural ingredients, and nothing artificial about it. My dog is a small beagle mixed breed but the bag says these are safe for small, medium and large breeds. This is a 25oz bag but it can be purchased in different sizes. These dental sticks will support the immune system, while relieving any seasonal allergies and also improving dental health. I was curious also about the special formula which contains EpiCor. This is antioxidants, fiber, protein, and vitamins. There is a hemp protein which provides omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids also supporting the immune system and helping to relieve any itchy or hot spot which I found fascinating because this is a supplement and medicine-free. With every treat, it helps to clear plaque and tartar from teeth as she chews, and has peppermint oil to eliminate bad breath. The only thing I was worried about was the peppermint oil because I don't care for peppermint taste so I had no clue how my dog would react to it but she seemed to not have a problem at all with it because she took it out my hand. We mainly use the product for calming purposes for our three dogs. We have a 3y8m old 67 pound German Wirehaired Pointer, a 3y5m old 55 pound Small Standard Goldendoodle, and a 1y3m old 16.5 pound Havapoo. The dental cleaning aspect is an added bonus. We don't give daily. We give two to the bigger dogs, and one to the smaller one, and they seem to calm the house just enough. These aren't a magic fix-all, but, for us, it helps our pups relax enough when they are worked up over something. They also smell nice compared to other dental treats out there. What we don't like is that they are too easy for my bigger dogs to eat. So if you are getting them to help with teeth cleaning, your dog might eat them too quickly and not benefit from chewing on it.
My dogs love them! I have 2 large dogs (155 lbs & 130 lbs) so I wish the sticks were bigger, but they just love them as a tasty, little snack. If I give them more than one treat, they always choose the calming dog chews first. I think it's even helped with their doggie breath too. I'm sure it helps with calming, but since I just give them one and because of their size, I'm sure they would need more for it to be really effective. So it's hard to say definitely if it's helped my pups with that, but I feel based on the ingredients that it should/does.Kristine P
