I didn't know what to think from reading the other reviews. Some swear it worked, others say it was useless. Here's my experience. When my Bernedoodle first got sprayed, I used the hydrogen peroxide formula you read about all over the Internet. Although, it got all the yellow stain off his coat, the smell was still horrendous. I waited a week thinking it would dissipate over time but there was no improvement whatsoever. Accordingly, I set out to purchase a commercial product and settled on Nature’s Miracle. Initially, I didn’t think it had worked at all – I was in the camp of the 1 star reviews. But then I noticed a small improvement the following day, maybe 10-20%. You might think it was just time not the product, but trust me, after living with the smell for over a week I could tell there was an improvement not related solely to the passage of time. I called the Nature’s Miracle support line to ask how often I could reapply it without harming my dog’s coat. The agent advised repeat applications were fine as long as I waited a few days in between. More importantly, she advised that I should not rinse him off before using it, like you normally do before applying shampoo. That was my mistake with the first application. I had assumed he had to be rinsed first in order for the product to lather up. In any event, after a second “dry-coat” application Nature’s Miracle got rid of at least 90% of the smell…hallelujah! So, follow the instructions, apply it dry and repeat if necessary…it will work. My only advice to the company is to add “Do not rinse first” to the instructions. This was an ok cleaner for pet related messes. I bought the one that has enzymes that is suppose to help neutralize the smell. I have a small chihuahua and even though she’s trained to go to the bathroom outside or on a pee pad, she still sometimes loves to go on any carpets/mats we have lying around our house. This spray helped with cleaning that up but I honestly didn’t really notice it helping to eliminate or neutralize the urine smell. It got most of the stain out but to get rid of the smell or to prevent her from going back to that same spot, I still have to take the carpet and wash it in my washing machine. This is the second time in 3 weeks our black lab has been sprayed by a skunk. People had referred us to this the first time after the fact. This time we did the home remedy of 1 quart hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and a teaspoon of dawn. We did that twice, then use a full bottle of Nature’s Miracle Skunk Odor Remover. Instead of using dog shampoo like the product recommends after sitting in the dogs for 5 minutes, we really worked in baking soda into the fir before we washed off this product. The animal must be saturated in this shampoo as skunk spray is an oil that penetrates into your animal's body and fur. My 3 dogs got sprayed. I used this once and the smell was gone. This shampoo smells good but it does not lather well. I used almost a full bottle on my dogs. Two have short hair, but my shepherd mix has a lot of fur. I left it on for several minutes as I rubbed it in their fur It rinsed off well. I received the 32 ounce bottle of "De-Skunk Odor Destroying Shampoo" and have used it on my dog once already. This shampoo has a very cinnamon/black licorice smell to it. It is a VERY strong smell which my dog did not like at all, she actually kept sneezing when I was bathing her and she has never done that with other shampoos before. This shampoo is not very runny which I liked because a lot of dog washes are and you tend to use way too much and waste it. This shampoo also lathered up very nicely with little effort. I liked how I was able to really massage this into my dog's coat. This shampoo left my dog's coat nice and shiny afterwards too. Instructions say to allow this shampoo to sit on your pet for 3-5 minutes before rinsing it off. I really liked the fact that this shampoo does not remove the topical flea and tick treatments that are used on the back of the dog's neck. This is a great shampoo for any dog owner to have on hand. We use "Natures Miracle" products regularly, but this particular product was a total failure for us. We first treated our dog with peroxide and backing soda, and that took most of the smell out. The next morning we purchased this product in an attempt to removed the remaining smell. We followed directions, and used it twice, but the remaining smell was unaffected. Wow….I've had 3 dogs in my life, 2 that passed away about 7 years ago, and 1 hellion and beautiful lover lab who came into our lives six years ago. My two Westies got skunked for the first time. Without any remedy on-hand, I used the peroxide/baking soda/detergent recipe. That worked somewhat, but both dogs still had a strong odor, especially when they got wet. After trying two more treatments, I got the Skout’s Honor product. It’s not a shampoo, but almost like water. The odor dissipated a bit more, but there’s still a faint smell left. I expected complete elimination, but maybe I’m wishing too much. So the dogs got sprayed again tonight, which gave me the opportunity to use Scout's Honor on the dogs. I was able to 100% remove the skunk smell on the three of them that got sprayed. TIPS for best results: 1. Fill up a spray bottle with Scout's Honor, don't try pouring it right from the bottle that it comes from. That way you can spot spray directly and deeply into the fur to the skin. 2. Spray directly onto dry fur like the directions say. Use a washcloth to scrub hard at the areas that got a direct hit. Spray and scrub, spray and scrub. 3. Keep at it until you can't smell any of the worst areas. Then rinse with warm water, dry the dog as much as possible with a towel, and then sniff again. This time you'll be able to hone into the small areas that still smell. Spray and scrub with the washcloth, spray and scrub. Rinse again. Do the smell test. Get your nose right down into the fur so you can identify those remaining areas. Spray and scrub. If the dog was directly sprayed, this process may take 30 minutes but IT IS SO WORTH IT!! My two Westies got skunked for the first time. Without any remedy on-hand, I used the peroxide/baking soda/detergent recipe. That worked somewhat, but both dogs still had a strong odor, especially when they got wet. After trying two more treatments, I got the Skout’s Honor product. It’s not a shampoo, but almost like water. The odor dissipated a bit more, but there’s still a faint smell left. I expected complete elimination, but maybe I’m wishing too much. So the dogs got sprayed again tonight, which gave me the opportunity to use Scout's Honor on the dogs. I was able to 100% remove the skunk smell on the three of them that got sprayed. TIPS for best results: 1. Fill up a spray bottle with Scout's Honor, don't try pouring it right from the bottle that it comes from. That way you can spot spray directly and deeply into the fur to the skin. 2. Spray directly onto dry fur like the directions say. Use a washcloth to scrub hard at the areas that got a direct hit. Spray and scrub, spray and scrub. 3. Keep at it until you can't smell any of the worst areas. Then rinse with warm water, dry the dog as much as possible with a towel, and then sniff again. This time you'll be able to hone into the small areas that still smell. Spray and scrub with the washcloth, spray and scrub. Rinse again. Do the smell test. Get your nose right down into the fur so you can identify those remaining areas. Spray and scrub. If the dog was directly sprayed, this process may take 30 minutes but IT IS SO WORTH IT!! If the dog still smells like skunk the next day, it's because you weren't patient enough to identify the sometimes very small areas that you needed to spray and scrub again.kfitzz77
Our family pet is a fox. The odor of her urine is very strong. Like 3 week old litter box mixed with skunk spray strong. This product is the only one that gets rid of the smell completely and quickly. No second or third treatments needed. I have been through a multitude of odor removers (some quite expensive) and this is simply the best. It leaves behind a slight citrus scent but not overpowering or unpleasant. I ordered this for our little Yorkie who got sprayed face on, in her mouth and down the front of her (none in her eyes thank goodness). We used this shampoo as directed and when she was dry there was a pleasant odour of coconut. As soon as she got wet in the rain the first time after being bathed there was the horrible smell of skunk mixed with the smell of coconut . So after she is bathed in this and dried she is ok until she gets wet again and then there is skunk. We have tried several things on her and nothing seems to work I don't think we are going to be rid of the odour until her hair grows out and is cut off. The product works well. Unfortunately I have to keep it around because I have 2 large dogs that get into fights. The spray does most of the breaking up of the fight but it takes the whole can. If the can is not completely full as I've come to learn it isn't enough to help me break up the fight. I wish the can held a few more ounces. I have a big German shepherd/malamute mix, a very sweet dog but with problems around other large breeds. We adopted him 1 1/2 years ago and didn't know his temperament entirely, but noticed his aggression. I've been through at year of training with him, but still there's an occasional problem. SpraySheild has effectively diverted the dogs' attention to allow me and other owners/handlers to intervene safely to prevent a real dog fight. I have a mare who has super sensitive skin. She was out to pasture in the spring and before I could notice the gnats got to her belly and it was bad. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. First off, this product was shipped to me with every precaution against seepage, spillage or the bottle leaking (see photos). I order a lot online and was very impressed at how the product was packed for shipment. The bottle was encased in a bubble, sealed pack that I had to cut open with scissors to access the 32 ounce bottle. This product contains 1600mg of Glucosamine Hcl, 1200 MG Chondroitin Sulfate and undisclosed amount of HA (Hyaluronic Acid). The formula also contains aloe vera juice, citric acid, potassium sorbate, vegetable glycerin, Stevia and water. There are some cautions such as pregnant or animals intended for breeding that safe use hasn't been proven so read the caution section carefully. For my small dog, the directions stated to shake the product well, and measure out two teaspoons; there is a weight chart to indicate what dosage you should use according to your pet's weight. (Refrigerate after opening the product). I mixed the formula in with my dog's food, and she didn't seem to turn her nose up at her food, she is a very picky eater. She finished her food with no issue each time I added the liquid which was daily. I haven't used this for very long but after a few days, she seems to be moving with more ease. I will continue to give her this supplement because I believe just like humans, as our pet's age their joints begin to deteriorate and anything I can do to lessen her pain as she ages, I'm all for.Paige

This supplement is easy to administer, I just mix it in my dogs dry food. She did not seem to like the taste clean, but it mixed into the food really well. I'm hoping great improves very little ones. She has been on it for about a week now and I haven't noticed much difference, but I am hoping that it will change. I was very surprised with how well it worked. My cats nose cleared up quite nicely. I think the taste wasn't so good for her though. Maybe you can figure a way to give it a flavor cat's like. Also, you should make it so we can administer it easier. I had to use a syringe to be able to manage giving it to her. I turned to this product for my cat after everything else failed. She has a chronic sinus infection that did not respond to multiple rounds of two different antibiotics. She stopped eating and was losing weight. I put drops of this on her food twice a day and she seems to tolerate it. I cannot dose her directly into her mouth, being a cat once was enough and she wriggles free when I try to dose her. She is not cured but is much better and her quality of life is much improved.
