I have used Happy Jack 40+ years but after moving off the farm 15 years ago forgot all about it and began using holistic medications, etc. Well, I do rescue and got a little jack russell with 70% of her body scarlet, oozie red, infected red ears, thick red, hairless legs, tail, chest and face. She had been ill for so long her skin was very thick and discolored. I spent hundred of dollars for 4 months without results then ran across Happy Jack again in the Tractor Supply. My dog was scratching constantly causing hot spots an scratches that bled a little not to mention she had this smell that's was offensive. I tried other products and then I heard of this one from a friend, bought it and brought home and put it in a spray bottle to evenly spray her entire body (except in her ears, eyes, mouth or sanitary areas) and to my surprise I Seen instant relief for her and she was able to sleep peacefully and so was I. You might want to buy a few bottles because you'll have to make sure your pet is wet and massage it into their skin (use gloves) might want to cover areas where your offer lays until your pet is dry. Leave on your pet for 3 days… You'll notice flakes (scabs) that's normal, wash your pet.. Let them dry completely and repeat the happy Jack mange medication. You'll start to notice the hair growing back. You'll be happy and your pet will be happy an you will have saved alot of $ then you would had you went to a vet. I bought all mange treatments from happy jack… I have a white pit with enlarged paw found out it was NOT yeast like the lying vet said it was…..another vet told me it was cancer? only after years of bull! money sucking vet visits! to find out it was mange attacking the animals for YEARS ! My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. I also originally bought this product with the intention of using it for one of my dog’s dry skin. With that being said I have a miniature poodle with severe allergies that caused him to scratch at himself until he was bleeding and scratched off the skin in multiple location on his body. He is now medicated and is a lot better with the correct products. This product did help with his allergies minimally but did help his over all coat a lot. His coat was soft and shiny after using the product and after a few weeks his dry skin that was caused by a previous product was much better. This has been a complete life saver. My elderly dog keeps chewing one specific spot. With many expensive vet trips, we've tried so many things that I was feeling discouraged. I'm quite surprised with the reviews that say this product doesn't work. For my dog, it truly was a LIFE SAVER! I've been battling with my dogs hotspots (and dry, flaky skin) off and on ever since we moved back to the Midwest, at least a year of her issues. I've tried shampoos, conditioners, a handful of trips to the vet to trial different foods, and hundereds of dollars later I honestly just gave up. I started putting alternative topical agents on her that simply gave a temporary resolution. While traveling out of town, she (Mini Schnauzer) had a really bad case, to the point where she was starting to bleed. Tea oil, hot spot spray and the above HomeoPet drops were what I returned with, after another visit to the pet store. After the first day her redness had diminshed greatly and she wasn't itching nearly as much. By two, she wasn't itching AT ALL. I decided to remove the Tea oil and spray since I'd used them in the past without long-term results. It's been a week and my schnauzer has had 3-5 drops a day, oral dose of this product and she is doing exceptional! Seriously! No redness, no scratching. Today I hadn't given her any since yesterday afternoon and she started scratching again. I gave her 3 drops and about a couple hours later, again, her scratching is gone. This product worked exceptionally on my dog. On the other hand, I don't think her issues were due to food allergies, vs environmental surroundings, my guess. I have a cat that has a tendency to lick patches of fur off her front legs when the weather turns either warm or cold in the summer and winter. The vet told me it's likely due to seasonal allergies. Well, after a couple of years of having to take the cat to the vet twice a year and spending upwards of $200 each time, I looked for an alternative and came across Hot Spots. My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. Every now & then I come across a product that works so beautifully that I have to tell everyone. This is one of those products. My 160lb 8yr Rottweiler has been suffering from severe yeast itching for months on end. It was so bad that he couldn't even get rest, no matter how many times I bathed him or what I did to help him. So I have a beabull, mostly English bulldog. He’s a 7/8 mix. Out of nowhere his cute little black nose started getting crusty and cracked. I waited a while and it didn’t let up. I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day. Used it on my German Shepherd Dog who is going through the shedding stage now. I normally don't bath her but three times per year, being she is a healthy female she doesn't have hardly any odor except if she gets wet. Then for some strange reason she smells like a dog.
