I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. You can continue every other day for another 2 weeks.Cricketoes

I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Im not a vet but am thinking whatever it was it was some type of fungal infection. Benefits of product; it wasnt expensive, was easy to apply, and has a light pleasant scent.Debbie

I am so thankful to have found this today! My poor dog could not stop scratching and licking under his front legs, and they were raw and bleeding. He was whimpering but would not stop. About 6 months ago, my cat, who has feline leukemia, stopped eating, was constantly vomiting, sleeping, and cringed whenever I touched her. She would still come in and sleep on me, but had no energy and whimpered a lot. The company insert says to keep FROM freezing so I was a little confused and uncertain if I should proceed but she needed her injection. Purchased this product with not much confidence made a huge difference in my GSD allergies. Sprayed on the area he was chewing when he would begin chewing. It gave him instant relief, he now comes to get the area sprayed when he chews. I am going to use the same product which is an ointment to see how well it does. Rosebud was biting at her nether parts due to itching. This applied liberally relieved her jitters. 5he skin soother is a great as described! My pup got an abrasion on the side of her snout. The healing process made it itchy so she'd rub her face on the carpet thus rubbing off the scab and the wound would bleed and we had to start the healing process over. I put skin soother on her abrasion at bed time. The next morning it wasn't red and angry looking and she didn't rub her face on the carpet. Started my pup on the skin soother after he developed allergies. He was scratching himself raw and needed a steroid taper to alleviate his discomfort. Slippery elm helps heal the gut lining from gluten. Gluten is in wheat/barley/rye..oats/corn/rice. Rice is low in gluten. Wild rice has no gluten…is a grass. Gluten/Xanthan gum/carrageenan can hurt the gut lining so less nutrients absorb. The dog got all three in a canned food which greatly hurt him and he was eating grass. Slippery elm was great help to heal his gut lining. One squirt in his blended food and zero food that hurt the gut lining helped him heal fast along with other supplements. Apoquel has done wonders for my German Shepherd who recently developed seasonal allergies at six years old. He was scratching and biting at himself 24/7 and he caused an infection on his foot from the constant licking. He was so miserable until our vet put him on apoquel along w an antibiotic for his infection. The apoquel worked very quickly with relief felt later the same day he started. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. My male cockapoo had started scratching and biting at his skin about a few months ago , it got so bad to the point where he wouldn’t stop until his skin was completely raw and bleeding and we had to keep a cone on him at all times. I take care of feral cats and I Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) them in order to decrease the cat population in my neighborhood. When spaying a female cat, you have to keep them for at least 4 days for them to appropriately heal and have the affects of the anesthesia to wear off completely. One of the ferals that I trapped was a skin-and-bones female that was really too young to be having the kitten she was towing around with her. So I trapped her and her only surviving female kitten, had them both fixed and proceeded to "Fatten them up" and have them heal completely. "Under the Weather" Ready-Cal was the perfect supplement to give to both mamma and baby while they healed. I kept mamma in my care for one month because she was so pathetically thin. In that month, Mamma's coat changed from a rusty brown to a glossy black. She gained weight to where you could no longer feel her ribs poking through her fur. She did not like indoor life AT ALL and could not be socialized or handled, so she was released back to her outdoor home. I continue to feed Mamma every day, even built her an outdoor heated shelter in my fenced in yard. She is very content now. She now loves people, but cannot be picked up off the ground or lifted, but allows petting and head scratches. As for her kitten, she socialized very well, is awesome at vet visits and handling, and doubled in size very quickly because of the added Ready-Cal supplement and gained weight at a rate of 1lb/month. Her blood work came back from the vet as perfect. She was de-wormed, de-fleaed, and now is added to our family as a "foster-fail" which means that she is just too stinking cute to adopt out, so I kept her as part of our family. This is an excellent product with the best ingredients to heal (not just treat) intestinal lining problems. My girl has a bad case of IBS and was constantly crying and in horrible pain even after I put her on an organic home made diet. I bought the power version and for 3 weeks I mixed it in with her wet food as directed and did NOT do anything. Her 24×7 pain was excruciating for her and for me so I did not give up. After doing a lot of research, I realized that similar 'human' products for the same problems suppose to be given 30 minutes before meals. So, I diluted it in water and added a bit of sweat potato (for taste) and gave it to her, 30 minutes before her food, and IT WORKED! Like a miracle her pain was gone. For the first time after 3 months she was able to sleep peacefully. She is 11 lb so I give her 1/8 tsp of the powder and ¼ tsp of sweat potato (for taste) diluted in 1-2 tablespoons of water, 20 minutes before her meals, 3 times per day. I also give her probiotics, digestive enzymes, DGL(Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice), and Seacure (contains L-glutamine which repairs the mucosal lining) all mix with her food and I am happy to said she is no longer in any pain and on her way to full recovery! Just remember if you get the power version dilute it in water first (you don't have to do that with the liquid version) AND please give it 20 minutes BEFORE meals if your dog is in bad shape like mine.Loving pet owner

I occasionally add this to my 13-year-old cat's food, or even administer a few drops directly into his mouth, when he's having tummy troubles. My Bichon has inflammatory bowel disease which has caused loose stools sometimes with blood. I tried changing her food, but she still had bouts of it. She has also been very uncomfortable a few times when she had an episode of it. Since I started giving her the Colon Rescue 2-3 times daily she has had only one or two short episodes of diarrhea. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. I haven't had the nerve to try it as I thought it could just be some nut trying to infect your pet even worse. My senior dog's liver values have been elevated due to medications and age. SAMe and Milk Thistle were recommended and we have been using both by Vita Pet Life. My dog likes the taste and eats them as a treat. He's 95lbs so we do have to give 4 tables/day but this brand is still the most economical for a large dog's dosage and it is clearly written on the bottle in the description pictures. I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day.
