I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. I would recommend the lightest dose possible (weight-wise) as this med could upset your pups tummy. My boy is "borderline" dose via weight and the higher dose did upset his stomach. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 pills 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. The dog had a TPLO surgery and had half of his back and his leg fur shaved off. The leg fur was coming back in about a month, but his back was completely bare with almost no sign of new fur growth. This products works well. My older Cocker Spaniel started having health issue that has required me to place him on a low fat diet. Due to his health issues and I think changing his food, he started having skin problems. He now has very bad dry skin / dandruff. In addition to a medicated shampoo, the vet recommended coconut oil to help hydrate his skin. The coconut oil was really oily on his fur and I don't think he was fond of the smell. I ordered this for my elderly Boston Terrier. She has always struggled with skin and allergy issues, but they've gotten increasingly worse with age. My pup already loves Finn treats and she has had some issues with allergies so I was intrigued by this new supplement. I've used bee propolis products for my own immune health, but I never thought about how it could be helpful for dogs too!
