My big guy isn't exactly what you might call graceful. He's a dork. A giant clumsy dork. So little aches and pains are just a part of our life together. I'm taking ibuprofen because he's nearly pulled my shoulder out of socket after trying to run and hide from the wind and he's taking his doggy aspirin because he tripped over his own feet while running and now yelps every step he takes. These really do help. They're easy to give wrapped in a little bread or dipped in peanut butter. I combined this with Charlotte’s Web Hip and Joint hemp for my dog with osteoarthritis. She could barely walk for three days. I can't really review Hip & Joint as well as I thought I was going to be able to. It doesn't really compare well to other supplements like this that I've tried, and I wouldn't consider purchasing it either. I wasn't aware of Hip & Joint before trying them, and I'm not sure I would recommend them to cat owners, but I would probably recommend them to dog owners. I have four cats and only one out of the four of them would even eat them. The other three cats just walked away, and then I had to pick up the other three before my fourth cat ate all of them. The one and only cat that actually did eat them started spraying in my house, which he has never done before taking Hip & Joint. I immediately stopped giving them to him, and he immediately quit spraying. I gave the Hip & Joint to a friend who has 2 adult dogs, and she is excited about trying them in place of her regular supplements. I wish I could have given a better review, but this is my opinion. We adopted a 13 year old dog at the start of the year. His joints were clearly very stiff when we got him and he had trouble with a lot of normal movement and dog behaviour. I bought these and after giving them to him for only a week we saw clear improvement. Now he stretches every day with front and back legs out, scratches himself behind the ears, and is able to reack his back legs to clean them. He will even run a little sometimes. He manages to go down the stairs where before he would stumble and fall. He seems overall happier and more spry. He likes the chews a lot, so it's no problem getting him to eat them even though he is a very picky dog. They are also very easy to break in two for very small dogs. This is not what I would call a 'chew'. It is more like packed powder. My dog does not even like them. That said, I sprinkle the powder into her FreshPet food and she eats it that way. She was almost unable to walk before I ordered this, one of her hind legs was suddenly too painful to move and she would end up falling over. My arthritic labrador loves the water, hence I couldn't stop her paddling in a very cold stream and she suffered for it the next day, couldn't put her weight on one leg in particular and limping badly. My dog has had degenerative disc disease and for several years he has days where he cannot walk that far. He walk .25 miles or less. I have a dog carrier that I put him in when he starts limping. Since he is 11.5 years old, he walks very slow and I walk him for him to help keep and try to keep some muscle tone. Anyway, I bought Four Leaf Rover about one month ago and I have noticed a difference. He now walks up to 2 miles per day. When I first started this product, I would put him in his cart at 1/2 mile, at 1 mile and finally 2 miles. He has been walking 2 miles per day. He does not walk fast but now he can walk for a longer distance. I will continue to give him this product since it seems to be helping. As a side note, he does get Galliprant every day, but the addition of Green Eggs really has enhanced his mobility. I hope this review helps someone. I was skeptical at first, but it does work my dog.
I have bought countless jars of this for my two big senior dogs, one who died in late winter 2021 and the one I adopted as a senior a couple of months later. The first dog was a gourmand who ate everything with gusto, including this. The second one can be much more selective with flavors and textures. Most of the time he likes this, which is a big relief because it’s so helpful for his achy old joints. He’s a giant dog and has ‘the worst knees’ one of his vets has ever seen. This blend works really well, and weirdly I like the way it smells 😂. I need great big jars of the stuff! Throwing away lots of little dark plastic jars is really bad (most recyclers don’t recycle dark plastic, especially black). I never like to be without it for my big old dog.Stefanie K.
I am the mommy of two furkids, a five pound Chihuahua and five pound Yorkie. They are quite active, and bouncy, and the Chihuahua will play fetch with her toys until your arm falls off from throwing said toys. My Yorkie girl has some conformation issues with her hind quarters, and too much bouncing on and off furniture, even if she uses the doggie steps, can cause a painful situation. Both of them seem to think that gravity doesn't apply to them. I started with the small container of Green Eggs, after researching ingredients and reading comments. I have definitely seen improvement in my Yorkie girl. She has a better range of extension, and flexibility with both rear legs. Although my Chihuahua girl seemed to have no issues, I was giving it to her as well, because being a toy breed, I know that she would be susceptible to knee issues problems. I ordered the large container after finishing the first, and I'm sure glad that I did. My Chihuahua was zooming around on the hardwood floor, and I heard her yelp, really loud. When I got to her, she was holding her left rear leg up. In flexing the leg, I heard the popping sound that told me she had a luxating patella, and seemed also to be tender around the hip joint. I started increasing the amount of Green Eggs, as well as CBD oil, and limited her activity. It's been three weeks, and she still skips on that leg on occasion, and I know that her knee is more prone to reinjury, but I feel certain that the Green Eggs helped speed her recovery. This is a product that I will continue to supplement both girls with. The only downside is that Green Eggs smells awful, due to the mussels! I can get over that, because it works! My dogs ate it right out of my hand. I was surprised as all get out. When they don't want it, I put it in the empty cat food can that needs to be washed out and I squash them and they get mixed in and stuck in the bottom of the short can and they lick and lick to get it out. Don't judge me about the can, they have never cut their lips or tongue. My biggest dog was a rescue from a junk yard and he loves at night while we are watching TV, he goes over to the recycle bins and gets a plastic bottle out, he loves to take off the caps and then he is finished. Amazing product! I have a husky and a corgi. My husky had surgery about 3 years ago for a broken leg injury. Recently, the cold has been really hurting his leg and sometimes gets sore. I have 4 dogs and too of them are starting to get old so I decided to give this a try. One of my dog's is a very picky eater and does not eat everything. Fortunately, she enjoyed this. She eats it right up. They are heavy dogs but I have only been pumping one pump in their food for now, just to give their stomachs time to adjust. Bought this product to help my 2 aging Yorkies. While it is a pellet form & mixes well with their dry food the smell was a bit much. Yorkie terriers have a beard which gets dirty when they eat. The pellets got stuck in their beard & got smelly. I then tried mixing it with water which only made it worse. As far as value, it did last a long time with my little dogs. The other plus is that the pellets are small so its hard from the dogs to leave behind in their dish. Dogs did love it but I didn't. Would I buy again, maybe??Becky M.
