We found these about a year ago and boy have they made a difference! Our dog is getting older and consequently, his breath is slowly getting worse and worse. We've tried other brands but these work the best by far! Our dog LOVES them and gets so excited for his daily stick. These have natural active ingredients that actually help treat their bad breath instead of just covering/masking it which we love. My in-laws are huge fans of greenies which are crazy expensive and just don't work. Their two lab's breath always smells bad even after consistent daily use of the greenies. My little dude isn’t the biggest fan of brushing chews- but he loves these! I have a 3 year old Chinese Crested (hairy hairless) and the hairless variety of this breed suffer from a gene that causes them to lose teeth or have improper dentition and dental issues. We have a 6 pound 12 year old Chihuahua who recently had a reaction to a newer and larger "chew-able" heartworm preventative that contained an added ingredient. It's like she was in a daze, staring, trembling and walking in "slow motion"…very scary! After discussing it with the vet, and reading the possible side effects of the new medication (which included neurological symptoms), we decided to return to this Interceptor medication, which she's taken for years with no problem (it's also a much smaller pill, only about 5mm, and easy to slip into a piece of banana or apple… since she refuses to take pills without disguising them). Unfortunately, our vet was out of them and informed us that this specific pill has been discontinued and suggested we check online. So I purchased two of these 6 dose boxes from Valley Vet Supply, enough to last me an entire year (we live in a warm climate that has mosquitoes all year round). My vet recommended Interceptor as I was convinced my sweet Greyhound became ill every month when I gave her Heart Guard. She would have an upset stomach and diarrhea for days after receiving it. I wasn't sure if this was what caused the diarrhea initially so I took her off this for a couple days and added it back into her water after she recovered, she proceeded to have diarrhea again the next day. My poodle has a lot of ear hair that needs to be cleaned often. In between baths, the smell can get kinda funky. Used this ear rinse to see if it would help and it does. It keeps the waxy smell away longer but it's not mask any existing smells. It's easy enough to use and my dog doesn't seem to mind it too much. My dog had a spider bite on his neck and he kept scratching at it until it got bloody and infected and some of his hair fell off on in the same area. I purchased this product and applied it on the area that evening, and applied it again the following evening. The following morning I checked the area to apply some more and saw that the area looked clean. My dog stopped scratching at it and just about healed. My dog’s paw was inflamed and seemed like he had an infection going on. This was the perfect tool to use on my boy before I could take him to the vet’s office the next day. It is a topical cream that you can apply to the wounded area. It didn’t make my pup feel discomfort or make him go crazy. It’s an amazing product because it is an antibacterial and it helps fasten your pets recovery rate as if you were to leave the wound untouched. It did help clean it up a bit but did not entirely get rid of the infection. The vet did tell me that this was a great product to use for first aid. For first time pet parents I advise you to not wrap up the infection and just let it air out with a cone around your pups head. My 12 yo cat Magi has urinary tract disease and has crystals on her bladder, my vet originally ordered Clavamox which is quite expensive. I did some research and found that clavamox isn't much different from amoxicillian and asked my vet if Magi could switch meds. I would highly recommend this medicine, it's affordable and effective. The only down side of it is that it came in bubble gum flavor and Miss Magi wasn't thrilled with that lol normally she takes her meds very calmly and that's it but with this flavor she scratched me up pretty good 🙁 but it worked and that's all that matters!!

I have an almost 5 year old golden who absolutely hates having his teeth brushed. He has had seriously terrible tarter and plaque build up (and bad breath) and I was seriously considering have him put under for a deep teeth cleaning. I started using this stuff twice a day, sprinkled and shaken with his dry kibble. I wasn't expecting anything major, but y'all the results are seriously AMAZING!!!! The tarter and plaque has all but disappeared from his teeth (especially his back molars and front upper canines) without any brushing at all, and his breath is significantly better. His teeth are significantly whiter and cleaner looking, and I swear they almost sparkle again like when he was a young lass when we're outside in the sunlight. He's had no side effects and doesn't seem to mind the taste of the powder at all. I am absolutely purchasing again!!! Also some reviews mention an overpowering odor…I have a strong nose and while there is a smell to it, it's not a bad smell and is certainly not overpoweringly strong! I started using this a few years ago. It does a good job of keeping the tartar from hardening on the dog’s teeth. I still wipe the teeth a few times a week and they clean up with just a dental wipe. The other thing that this does is prevent tear and saliva stains. I discovered that when I ran out, a few years back, and didn’t reorder right away. My white chihuahua’s tear stains came back, as soon as it was out of her system. And my other chihuahua that licks his white paws, turned brown again. I cannot figure out how this works to be honest and nothing I've read is particularly helpful. But . . . whenever our boys go to the vet and have their teeth checked we are told what good condition their teeth are in. Which is great given that our two Chihuahuas are both over 10 years old and are not very fond of crunchy food (kibble) so we mix in wet food. I purchased this tube from Chewy.com for my Sheltie. I've been brushing his teeth since he came home as a baby, and he also gets Plaqueoff in his food. The breed is notorious for dental issues, so I'm hoping to keep things at bay by being proactive with his dental health. Petsmile interested me because I saw that this was the only toothpaste with the VOHC seal–so I opted to try it. He doesn't seem to be in love with the flavor, which I took a shot on, but it's not bothering his gums or his stomach. He has some tooth staining, which this paste hasn't really removed, but I have noticed some small bits of plaque on his smaller bottom teeth is now gone, by about half. I brush his teeth every night, so other than adding this paste into our routine, I'm inclined to think that's what finally dissolved that tartar. Yay! I wish Petsmile offered every flavor in a smaller tube, though, because even though this was pricey, it was still cheaper than the $25 standard tube. I also am keeping my fingers crossed for a vanilla or mint flavor will become available, because my boy loves vanilla so much. I currently use a USDA organic dog toothpaste, which is cinnamon flavored, but it doesn't have the VOHC seal, nor the enzyme technology. However, he loves that flavor! I actually brush with the cinnamon flavored paste, then apply the Petsmile as a finisher, because it'll sit in his mouth all night and I do like the fact that brushing with this isn't necessary. I'm going to purchase the cheese flavor today, even though it's a bigger tube, because I'm hoping that he'll enjoy it a bit more, and I do think it's making somewhat of a difference. We have been using this toothpaste for about 6 months, after having to spend $$$+ on specialty dental care. They had a follow up exam this week, and got an A from their veterinarian dentist. He commented that he rarely sees actual improvement- but both of our senior dogs did improve “vastly” after 6 months of daily use. I ordered this months ago after checking the list of VOHC-approved dental products. I've always brushed my dogs teeth and, although this product is expensive, it's the only VOHC-approved toothpaste. I notice a difference in teeth cleanliness and am looking forward to the dogs next annual veterinary visit. The dogs might get a dental because all I can see is what's above the gum line, but if a visible inspection was the only criteria for a dental, my guys would not need one.
