Product initially worked well. Combination of tone, vibration, and shock works well for training. My golden retriever responded well. Unfortunately the second time I went to charge the collar, the connection between the collar and the charger would not make contact. I chatted with cabelas and asked if they could send me a new charger dongle and they said I wanted that option I would need to work directly with Garmin. They gave me the option to return by mail, but I didn't want to be without the collar for that long. Instead I drove to the store to exchange it but they did not have the model available in the store. I returned it at the store and ordered a replacement on line. Once the replacement arrives, I am hoping I just got a lemon.Renegade08

I bought this collar about a year ago, and it is still just as effective and powerful today. This has all of the capabilities I need for training and enjoying my time with my dog. With the multi-collar functionality, it’s also great for people who own multiple dogs as you would just need a new collar and program it to a different color code switch. My dog can go swimming, get dirty, muddy, get hosed off, and the collar still works like a charm. I am extremely impressed. We bought this a couple months ago! Best investment we ever made! Our dog doesn't like the neighbours dog and would bark like crazy every time he was out in the yard. put the ecollar on him and only had to use the shock button a couple times and it stopped the bad behaviour in its tracks! Love it! The only thing I noticed was the collar became unpaired from the remote after we took him to the lake to swim. I have always been apprehensive of shock collars, but my dog was back-tracking on her training. She has always behaved very well on a leash, just to forget that training when the leash comes off. In only 2 weeks of use, this collar has worked like a charm! I have only had to shock once- the vibration and beep modes are enough to correct her. Both the collar and remote batteries are still charged after 2 weeks – I haven't had to recharge yet. Also, the SportDog website has a ton of articles, FAQs, and links to videos to assist in training and proper use of the collar. I had a waterproof beeper before. I learned quickly after drowning it. It is not submersible. Now. I know the difference. And this one is a keeper. I love its freedom. I love to walk around the neighborhood pond with our dog, Louise. She loves to play fetch, Especially in the pond. When others walk by she wants to greet them enthusiastically. She normally follows my commands. But when people are involved she can be out of control happy. Anyway this beeper let’s her enjoying fetching in the water, and obeying my “here” command as well. I purchased the Garmin/Tritronics Pro 70 first. I was totally unsatisfied with it! I realize we have some hilly terrain in WV. But this thing would not reach approximately 500 yards (maximum) behind one house, on a slope. I returned it. It was virtually worthless…unless you wanted to train a dog on chasing cars! Then purchased the Pro Trashbreaker. It reaches as far as 2 miles, in WV terrain. Have not actually used it with a dog as of yet. But, have checked to make sure it actually has a useful range for hunting dogs. I would buy the Pro Trashbreaker again! Outdoor Dog Supply is very nice to deal with! Excellent service! We adopted a dog who is a nervous guy and not food motivated. He would bark at people walking by our house and wouldn’t come when he was called. I used this collar to train him and only had to use the static stimulation twice on the lowest setting and now just use the tone. Four months ago we picked up a 3 year old yellow lab at a shelter near Denver. The dog is lovable, has had some hunting experience, but was WILD when we got him. It was necessary to keep him tethered at all times, or he was GONE for 20 minutes pursuing some scent in the nearby forest (we back up to public land). I purchased this device in the hopes I could control him. To my surprise I discovered he must have had some time with a similar device. He instantly responded to the Tone/Vibration mode. When he would start to take off, one tap on that mode made him instantly come back. Only if he chased a deer on hikes did I have to "tingle" him a little. He would immediately drop the chase. Now I can take a hike with him in the forest, without a leash, & he stays right with me, if wearing the collar.mstar5

I bought the sport dog 425x for my lab a few months ago & loved it but it recently fell off him while we were walking on a trail and I was never able to find it. For the money it costs, I don’t think it should fall off that easily. I then bought the 825x, but I’m not sure I recommend this collar for extremely active dogs.esport dog collar

Purchased for my bull arab (50kg) who goes barking mad on the way to the beach in the tray of the ute. It's only excitement but upsets all other dogs around. I only put it on 3-4 and he barked once, then was quiet for the rest of the ride. Haven't tried in in water (especially salty water as the last collar perished because of this) but it's easy to put on and remove so not a hassle when we get there. Also very sturdy.Ingrid B.

I only have to put it on every now and again if she gets barky again but it’s made an amazing difference in our home. Our dogs were barking all day everyday and we live on a corner block so whenever anyone walked past they would bark their heads off and wake the baby. Now they walk to the fence and sniff. It’s great. Highly recommend and amazing customer service. My dogs are German shepherds and cocker spaniels for reference.Amy

My 75 lb boxer is on the adjunct staff of my cardiologist. His job is to walk me, hard, every day, 30-45 min. I have osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis as well as heart issues. When I used the training collar for the first time, it was like magic. Those plastic teeth work perfectly. Before, the dog usually behaved, but a nearby squirrel, or another dog, could be too much temptation to pull. Now, the gentlest tug and the usual "Leave it" command keep us walking like pros. I have little trouble disconnecting the links, but really, folks, surely you can add large tips to the cord ends instead of permanently joining them to a ring: one tip is the leash loop and male connector; the other is the female connector and release button. How hard is that? Connected, the collar fits with proper snugness after the owner adds or removes links. Disconnected, the collar opens so far it will slip over the dog's head and ears with ease. No more complaints from owners of impatient, wiggly dogs. Sure, this would add a dollar or five to the price. Big deal. Ease of use would be worth it. I have a 100 pound dog and it pulled so bad that nobody in the house could walk it except for me. And it was a struggle even for me. I had to keep an eye on her at all times because is she took out after a squirrel or something and I wasnt prepared, she would either break free or throw my shoulder out. I did some research and came across this collar and it had some good reviews, so I got one. My dog stopped pulling INSTANTLY!!! No joke!! She was like, What the heck???, and has never pulled since! Shell sort of pull, but nothing at all like before. Now my 90 pound 10 year old walks her easily. This collar worked so good, I got another one for my much smaller Australian Shepard, and now she dont pull anymore either. The collar seems well made and its easy to adjust. I think Ill eventually wear them out, but as soon as I notice wear, Im getting replacements. Best 20 dollars I ever spent!johnofthecosmos

I have two dogs and this has a separate button for each dog. No more pressing a button to switch between dogs. Love it! Mine does not say Einstein on it 🙁 but it's well made product. I've had it for a month or so and haven't had to recharge the batteries yet. Very happy with it so far.Jimbo

I have had this since January of 2018, best purchase IMO, is it perfect? No, does it work really really well? Yes it does. Is it sometimes slow to lock onto your phone? Yes, easy fix as I turn the collar and receiver on prior to getting ready or when we get into the car, that way everything is good to go when its time to go. The longest it has taken to acquire and lock on to my phone had been around 5 minutes. I use this several (3-4) times and week and haven't had any issues with the collar prongs bothering my dogs neck or causing issues. IMO it is an excellent value for the cost and its peace of mind knowing I know where my dog is at all times.Alexis

So far I have not used this to train my pup. My pup is to young (only 4 months). I have down load the App to my I Phone & have set it up for use. So far everything has been straight forward & easy to set up. The website for the product contains a lot of information on how to use this product for training & for Trouble Shooting if needed. This collar has tracked my husky as she ran off leash while out on hikes. It shows on our phones where she is, when she stops running, when she barks and what path she takes. It is neat to be able to watch the paths she takes when chasing the deer in the woods. It has tracked her over half a mile away. My only comment – which has more to do with my dog than the collar – is that the shocks don’t seem to phase her. I think her fur may be too thick.Dallas

We purchased this with it stating it was a new collar. The actual collar that it came on has been cut off. There is no charger with it. It does seem to work but with the collar being cut it won't fit our hounds & without a charger u cant charge it. It came in a envelope, not in a box like the new ones do.boyces08

We have two dogs and they work like a charm. Nice to be able to control 2 dogs at once. The vibration does the trick. Only gave one minor shock to one dog and that was it. We just put collars on now and they know what they're there for. Dogs are too smart.michmers07

It is great to have individual control over two dogs without having to switch any settings. This has a pretty hard vibrate that grabs their attention so like other comments there hasn't been a need to shock. Also like other comments, just putting the collars onseems to do the trick. I will say I did shock myself though testing and there is a huge difference between the low and high shock. I guess it's there if you really need it. Build quality is good and I like that the device goes into a sleep mode when they are not moving. The red light is nice too at night time. Collar charge last at least all day and we have not tested battery life to full fail. I will say another huge plus is the remote takes an easy to find 9 volt battery and not one of those strange batteries that you can only buy online. This is a great buy!cguagliardo

I purchased this product on my brother's recommendation. I have 10 dogs and 14 guineas and only one of the dogs would kill our fowl. My brother had used collars on his dogs with problem behavior and they are now great dogs. I was a little hesitant to use it because I'm not a electric stimulus collar user. It worked great. I don't have to use the stimulus button anymore, just use the tone and she knows she's too close to the guineas. It's not harsh–u determine the settings–and it's well made.guinealady

I bought this collar because we have 3 small dogs with varying issues mostly barking that one starts and it triggers the other two and drives us crazy lol. I started with one dog it took a day and maybe 4 corrections and practically instant results. Second dog had the worst issues especially maniacal barking on walks at other dogs and people. It was almost instantaneous with him and it's abit of a shock(no pun intended) how fast it worked to help. Was hesitant to get this b/c I wasn't sure it was humane. After talking to my vet, I felt comfortable making the purchase. IMMEDIATELY, my wonderful, yet poorly socialized Mini Schnauzer changed his ways. It only took a few zaps, and now he responds to tone only. I would NOT walk him b/c he would go spastic when we met other people and/or dogs — now, although he is still interested in them, I can hit the tone and he just keeps walking. Also, his barking in the backyard has improved tremendously. I send him out, and if he starts barking excessively, I hit the tone button and it stops. I now have no fear about taking him out in "public." Some worry that it makes them more aggressive, etc., but I will tell you he is still the same playful, lovable dog. It truly saved us from having animal control show up on our doorstep!! You will wince at the price, but after one day you will realize it was a bargain — best money you ever spent.Xandi

Fantastic all in one collar. I love the fact I didn’t have to buy a beeper and stimulation unit separately. I have a small dog, a French Brittany, and thought lower levels of stimulation might be too much as the range is only 1 to 16. But the lower level ranges are fine. Never had to go up past level 5. I’ve had the unit a little over three months. Service was great. Because of the small neck size, and the placement of the stimulation unit and the beeper, it was impossible for me to just put new holes in the collar to tighten it up. I sent it back and they moved them closer together to permit additional holes for my dogs neck size. At no cost. Compared to other collars, for what this offers, it is a great price. It also has the button on top so it is possible to have the transmitter in one hand and still hold a shotgun and fire.Dobbin

I bought this collar because I lost my controller for my tri tronics g3 exp in the field on a Montana hunt. I was happy with my old system but didn't wan't to buy garmin after they changed the product and didn't take care of their customers. I am happy I went with D.T. and I like this system better. The beeper system is what makes this collar better. I really like using the beeper to locate my dog in thick cover. I also like the fact that the controller is light and orange so I have a better chance of finding it if for some reason I misplace it. The downfall of the system is it doesn't have a rechargeable battery in the controller and the collar needs to be more adjustable for a smaller neck size.vomtsc

I bought this collar two years ago to help train my deaf Australian cattle dog. I have been very pleased with its performance and durability. The dog has worn it almost every day, swimming most summer days, and have had no issues or malfunctions with it. I bought the XC Bundle for training my 10 month old Drahthaar after I was disappointed with another brand…I love Cabela's Customer service and return polices, no issues retiring the previous product. I won't mention the other brand but wished I had went with Garmin from the beginning. I find it hard to believe the negative reviews on this product after my experience with it this winter. I've had no issues with battery life in the collar or handheld…its actually surprised me with how will its performed in cold weather and direct water contact training my dog in Lake Ontario,…the 1/2 mile range is more then enough for both training and field work. The control buttons are excellent, don't be fooled by guys saying dial buttons are better, this handheld is well built and very nice to carry and I've never accidentally changed settings, and you can work the buttons with light gloves easily. The contact points are great…the long version is perfect for my dogs dense wire coat. I honestly do not have a negative thing to say about this purchase..if you do not need the bark control feature the Delta XC will do everything you need it to. Bought the Delta XC couple of years ago and had no luck getting my stubborn dog to respond. Finally out of frustration I hired a qualified trainer to get this dog’s reactive aggression under control. Told the trainer that I had one of these after the first session where the dog was not giving into our will. Trainer took the time to educate how it works and why. Helped us set it up and we began using this as a tool to get compliance. It really hasn’t taken long to get the dog to understand the command, the mild correction (2-4 setting), and the treat or no treat for compliance. The dog is by no means perfect, but barking can now be controlled with command and either tone or small correction. Dog recall is much improved as before the dog would not come when called. Now, call once. If no response, call a 2nd time and add a minor correction and the dog returns to me immediately.Thanks Bob

We’ve been using our Garmin Delta Sport XC for quite some time now, and it’s been working pretty much flawlessly. Sometimes our GSP reacts more, as though she’s more sensitive to the static signal, but then she’s a stubborn dog that *wants* a stronger signal than most dogs. She usually responds best at 13-High. (She’s trained to the collar as a signal for the most part, not so much as a “correction.”) The dogs wear their collars every day from wake-til-bed without issue. The remote’s signal strength seems to be at least 1/2-mile through heavily wooded terrain, so it’s lived up to our expectations.Joyce

Very happy with this collar. Has taken away the risk of our golden retriever chasing wildlife or hassling other people when he is off leash. Can get his immediate attention and recall. The only two improvements to this collar I would like would be for the hand held transceiver to have a belt clip as well as the lanyard and also the ability to switch off the transceiver so the collar can stay on the dog while the transceiver is off. Have inadvertently bumped a button when carrying in my pocket and given him an unwelcome shock. Range, functions and levels of stimuli are excellent though. Would recommend.Andrew M.

I have an adopted fur-baby that had a lot of control and behavior issues. Training, the usual way was just not working. I tried this and, within one day, the disruptive behavior (running and tearing up things in the house, jumping from one piece of furniture to another, non-stop barking) all stopped. He began with sitting, immediately after only two "vibrations" of the collar. By the end of the week, all I had to do was take out the remote control, say the words of sit, stay, no and wait, and he did so. Now, I don't have to use the remote at all but just say the words. I will tell you that, under no circumstances would I recommend the "shock" feature. Because it is easily changed on this model, by accident, I found out, the hard way just how much it hurts the animal. If you click MODE, by accident, from it being on vibrate, it switches over to Shock. BE VERY CAREFUL when you are about to use the Y button, for sound or vibration as, if it's on shock–and this was the very low setting–the dog whelps loudly and jumps, shakes, etc. I would not recommend it for any animal lover as, I don't even want to know what it feels like. Because the vibration is strong, even on low settings, and the other setting of "beep" is a high frequency sound, I found them the most effective. Thebeep sound is for Guiness (my new family member) to come–I use the vibration for correction, when needed. Guiness was the most difficult dog that I have worked with and I have behavioral training for dogs, which I have used for all of my pets. If this worked on him, it will work on most dogs that have behavioral issues. I would recommend it for the vibration and sound settings–and hope to get one that doesn't have the shock setting as, I feel that is just inhumane to use on a dog (my opinion after seeing how he reacted, on just a low setting). PLEASE USE CAREFULLY until you are used to the remote. That is my only advice when purchasing this for training.kelly4jesus

I am, so far, very happy with the design of the collar and remote handset. I especially like that you can do either vibrate OR static corrections with this set, AND can adjust the level of stimulation, immediately, for each. My only complaint is that the slide on clip is NOT useful. It does not grab either a collar, belt, or pocket, to any real degree. It slips off easily and drops to the ground, to be either lost or damaged. It would be better to design a stronger spring clip or clamp that is stronger. Because it continues to fall from where it is clipped, I am forced to hold it in my hand continually. Giving the dog a visual cue that I have control handy. It is more useful for the dog no not be able to connect such an association. Putting it in my pocket results in a possible inadvertent correction to the dog unnecessarily. Although I like many aspects of this product, and being a professional dog trainer, it would be nice to be able to recommend an affordable, good quality product. But because of the handset clip, I hesitate to do so. If this design was addressed, I would recommend it.dpcclm

My dog used to jump on anyone that came over and she was hard headed about listening. Been using for about a month now and have only shocked her once (on level 2) and now she listen with or with out wearing collar. We still put it on her every day and especially if company is coming over, but she knows when she hears the beep she's gone to far in pushing her luck. Most of time beep gets back in line and if not vibrate does. Can't beleave we waited so long to get one. Now friends and family can come over again and we don't worry about her jumping up on our guest particularly little kids. We put it on her in the morning and take it off before bed time and turn collar off at night and battery will last almost 2 weeks on collar before charging (wonted to see how long battery would last between charges) , Generally now we charge it once a week over night and haven't had it die yet while she's been wearing it. Can't say how water proof it is at this point haven't allowed her in the water with it yet. Only complaint is as others have stated it's easy to change channels on transmitter if your not paying attention. But have gotten used to looking at transmitter before pushing button. Besides If your going from Beep to vibrate your gonna wanna see what you have it set to before you use transmitter again, so I don't find it that big of a deal.jnmpatterson4

My wife ordered this and picked the one with 2 receivers and only got 1. Also it will not connect to the other two colors that I already have. We emailed the company and they will not respond to make it right. The product holds up great-as we had the same system for 10 yrs and still worked but someone lost the remote.Justin

This collar is a good buy but…pet safe makes one that looks the same but it has a button on/off and 3 intensities Of static shock. This one does not have the button and the battery screws in for on out for off. And my lawn mower causes this to continuously shock a d my German shepherd likes to follow me when I mow.rave1999

I decided I wanted a dog a couple of months ago and I ended up with 2 rescued German Shepard Dogs , before getting the dogs I did hours and hours of reading about dogs and especially GSD. The female is about 3 years old and from what Paul the owner of the rescue kennel told me she came from a really bad human home and she definitely had some issues . The male is about 2 years old and the previous owners just couldn't keep him any longer and he had issues just not as bad . Right after I received the dogs they both went to the vet for spay , neuter and shots etc . The vet who was also a dog behaviorist flat told me that I would have to be on top of the female all the time or I was going to have problems . After a couple of incidents / bad habits over the first few weeks of having 2 new members in the family I was really considering taking the dogs back to the kennel , the stress level was way to high , but I kept telling myself I wasn't going to let these dogs down and I told myself I would never use a training collar , I was wrong about the collar and I decided to purchase one ….the BEST thing I have done with these dogs , and the dogs are more than glad to let me put these collars on . The Dogtra SuperX2 has been great , the collars and receiver stay charged a good 8 hours and are very sturdy , the dogs will play and and chew on each other for hours and no problems with collars at all . The price I believe is very fair for the high quality product I received . I highly recommend the Dogtra Collar it has literally saved this relationship between dog and human . I love these 2 mutts and they love me thank you Dogtra . PS If you have a rescue kennel in your town drop off a donation or maybe a sack of dog food it would sure help them out .
