As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. She is also is not shaved down for colder weather so I tend to buy larger sizes for the colder seasons. Besides the price was great.Marlene D

I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. As a physicist / engineer, the first things I consider are the intelligence and suitability of the design and manufacturing quality. No other competing product comes remotely close to the intelligence of the design of this product. The low mounting height (minimal upsetting vector forces) is absolutely critical. It took my dog, a Dobermann puppy of 13 weeks, all of 10 seconds to fully adapt to this leash device. In an afternoon at a large park, I tried this device on 8 other dogs, excluding only old and seriously obese dogs. All of the tested dogs, of a very wide range of breeds and sizes, took to this leash quickly, none requiring walking the bicycle more than 50 yards. Given the enthusiasm each dog showed for this, I strongly recommend purchasing multiple, complimentary lighted devices to be attached to the dog's collar. This addition cannot be emphasized too strongly as an athletic dog will not want to quit quickly and returning after dark with the dog to one's side on any road will be unacceptably dangerous for the dog. Please strictly avoid any such device which mounts high as the balance upsetting lever moment will be too great for any reasonable safety factor, especially important near any motor vehicle.Wuodan
We adopted Macie, a 6 year old German Shepherd about 6 months ago. She is high energy, much more than we really wanted to handle. She does not want to play ball. Walking was just torture for her, she wants to RUN!! I feel so lucky to have found this amazing product. She learned the bike tow leash in about 10 minutes, and now I can really exercise her to her level of activity. It only takes about 25 minutes for her to feel great and be much more relaxed when we get back home. We ordered a bike tow leash for our 70 lb APBT. She is very strong and loves, loves, LOVES to pull. We have had a lot of fun on bike rides using the BTL. She took to the leash right away but I quickly learned that she can pull so hard that the rear tire will skid to the side just a little. It hasn't made us fall, or even come close really, but it is a little unnerving. Another issue that we've had is that the leash bends so far backwards (say if she sees something to the rear and right of the bike that she really wants) that it can lay against the rear tire, causing it to slow down. Again, not enough to topple us but it was unexpected. We've only had the BTL for a week or so, so hopefully as she gets more accustomed to focusing on our ride she won't be so distractable but, while we like it a lot, it isn't the fail-safe ride that we were hoping for. The bike leash works good on the bike, our dog likes to pull and the strap works great. My only problem is our dog likes to run close to pedals and I brush her slightly with my leg or foot. I have tried different lengths of the cord and number of springs. She is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and using two springs works the best as recommended. This is a good product. It is a really long harness so it bunches up in the middle when my dogs sit and when we are walking sometimes. The quality of the material is good and I do not feel like they are going to pull out of the harness. I do have an issue with the sizing chart. I got a large because that is what I normally have to get for my labs and then after the order looked at the chart. It showed that I should have gotten an XL at least. The large fits both of them fine and I have a 50 lbs and 80 lbs lab!Huntere
I picked this harness because it looked comfortable and tough, both highly important things when it comes to gear my dog wears. My dog is a husky/border collie mix and walking him with only a collar is unpleasant for both him and me. With this harness I have much better control with him, and he seems happy to wear it. What a fantastic harness! My 90 pound dood is a consummate outdoorspoodle and now he can pack his own water, snacks, and frisbee thanks to the bungee cord feature. The harness is wonderfully customizable. I have a Huge, deep chested giant pal who is wearing the 2-3X size. The straps are incredibly adjustable at the shoulder, neck, and across the girth to fit a wide variety of pup shapes. The material is extremely durable, seems to resist staining (I give it a quick rinse when my mudpuppy has really had fun), and most important, the harness is lightly padded for comfort. My pal literally jumps for joy when he sees it because he knows he's off on an adventure. I also love the bright yellow which pops at night when we are out exploring. The bungee cording is threaded though material that feels like the hook side of velcro. I plan to purchase the Backcountry X Petco Go Bag so we can carry even more fun along on our adventures. This is my second harness from Big & Little Dogs, as my puppy grew out of our first one. We were really impressed by the quality and safety attachments of the harness. This is such a cute harness. Very easy to put on since it's a walk in to type and then just click closed. I had a bit of trouble unclasping the attachment but I think it is because it is so tiny. I will be using this as a gift as my smallest dog is 28pds and definitely will not fit the extra small. I believe this is great quality and for my purpose will make a lovely gift!!Mom of 2 Red Dogs
*Please note the picture currently showing is NOT the harness – it appears to instead be a collar made of the same material, snap closure, and branding* As I hope you can see in the pictures, this is actually a harness (not just a collar) that fits around/in between both front legs and clasps above your dog's shoulder blades. The material is soft, but thick and durable, and double-stitched so securely that the material would likely rip before the seams holding the (what appears to be stainless steel) rings. In other words, this harness can hold up to a ton of abuse and still look/function like new. I would have given 5 stars but for the placement of the cute but annoying brand label that prevents me getting a perfect fit on my dog – IMHO a better place would be on the material between the front legs on the chest – but otherwise can't highly rate it enough.Bueler
Very nice Harness! The harness is very well made and a beautiful shade of bright blue….like the shade of blue you see with Duke University or University of Kentucky colors. The size XS is for a very small pet. The measurements are stated to fit a pet 11-15 inches in chest girth and approximately 5-10 pounds. For reference, I have a Cornish Rex cat. She is 15 years old and very thin. She weighs approximately 4 pounds. The harness fits her pretty well. I took a few pictures so you can see how cute she is in it and I do not have the adjustments as small as it could go. I have it about in the middle, so it could go larger or smaller than you will see in my picture. I realize that most people use this harness on a puppy but it is difficult to find a strong nicely made harness for a cat. This one works perfectly! My cat really doesn’t like for me to put any clothes, harness, collar, etc. on her. But when we go places, I cannot let her go free because she will take off and get herself lost. This harness is really great. I will make it smaller before I taker her outside with it. I do not take her on walks outside. She is strictly an indoor cat, but I sometimes have to travel with her and this will be very helpful. What’s even better is that the stitching along the color provides reflective properties to help see if she’s in the dark for some reason.Princess Mary

Strong and sturdy stitching. This harnesses will grow with my AussiPit into her adult stage. The handle on the back is useful for more hands on training. I like that it has the space to tuck the excess strap in. The padding is good and doesn’t make it bulky. Super quick and easy to put on and off and i like that the latches lock.
