No its like everything else I have tried does not work I can't even get my cats to get it down. When I first got it I let my cat smell it and he literally gagged (should have stopped there)?then I put it in a syringe and gave it to him and he threw up right after I gave it to him. My 20 y.o. senior cat has had upper respiratory issues since he was 1 year old, but had gotten so chronic and so bad that he has literally had a stuffy nose and sneezing for an entire year straight. My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. Went out one morning and caught a glimpse of what looked like a little scratch on my horses eye. Upon inspection the eye itself was untouched but the eyelid was cut about an inch long from the back corner towards the front. I cleaned it and figured I would just leave it alone. This product helped me when my dog had an eye wart. The vet said it did not need to be removed until it got to the point that he was scratching at it or it started to affect his vision. My bulldog's eyes has improved 90% since I have been using it. I still might have to get Cryosurgery for his eyes. not sure though if I have to mix a new solution daily or can I just use the same mixed solution until it is gone. My dog began to experience squinting, runny eyes and a swollen inner eye lid that through research I discovered to be called cherry eye. The swollen inner lid covered about 3/4 of his right eye. Eye drops didn't work, nor did salt water eye wash. I decided to try this product along with gentle eye massage therapy (procedure explained/displayed on various sites and on youtube). Use of this product since about 1 week, has eliminated the squinting and greatly diminished eye redness. I am continuing to use it along with the clear eye wash. Both contributing to soothing and healing. His inner eye lid problem has also been corrected through massage, a viable home alternative to surgery.
My dog doesn't mind when I put it on his eyes, so I know it is gentle. The smell is so mild you almost don't smell at all. It seems to be soothing and he knows it's to help him. I'm using the recommended diluted dose that's on the bottle, but haven't been able to get it on him 3 times a day, which would help it be more effective. I have two dogs, one large and and one small. I gave the Greenies to both dogs to see how they reacted to them. My large dog loves them. He gulps them up in one sitting. My small dog doesn’t like them at all. I believe it is due to the oily smell they have. She took a couple of sniffs and goes the other way. This review is for Greenie’s Hip & Joint Supplements. We were honestly skeptical about what this product could supposedly do for our 70lb rescued furbaby. Tortilla is an 11+-year-old Cattledog mix. It took a couple of weeks for us to start noticing little things, such as he is jumping up and down from the couch; not just walking down off the couch. My animals tend to get what I call "goopy eyes" from time to time, mostly irritated from hay or just allergies or dust etc. I have used products similar to this in the past. I used this antimicrobial gel to help clear the irritants in their eyes. It worked and seemed to soothe their eyes right after I used it… However, unlike the current product I use, I found myself having to use it again a few hours later because the symptoms had come back. Compared to another brand that I use for the same purpose, I would not switch at this time and would not buy this product. As far as recommending it to a family member or friend, if what they were using was not working – I would recommend using it and giving it a try. I have actually passed along this sample to a family member who has horses and will be giving it a try with them. I am very pleased with this product. It has a great consistency-not too tacky but not too runny either. I use this product on our 2 dogs. One tends to get dirt/other irritants in her eyes and then her eyes get red and itchy. Before I scheduled a vet appointment I figured that I would give this product a try; I'm glad I did-within 2 days her eyes were no longer red or irritated. The price seems fair for this product, especially since I would have had a more expensive bill had we gone to our vet. In addition to 2 dogs, we have 6 chickens. We received this free trial of Vetericyn Antimicrobial Eye Gel for Pets and decided to test it on our 3 year old English Shepherd, Cooper. Cooper's favorite past time is running through long grasses in our field, which seem to cause him to get eye goobers. Cooper was very unhappy to get the eye gel drops and we often used 2 or 3 times more product than needed since so much ended up on his face and muzzle. Despite the challenges we faced when applying the eye gel, we were happy with the results. After 2 days of 2 applications each, Cooper's eye goobers had disappeared. This lasted for about 4 days before we started noticing the goobers again. Overall the product worked and we were happy with it. However, it was difficult to apply and seems unecessary for simple eye goobers, especially with the 1 to 2 times a week application requirement. My poor kitty has been suffering with an eye infection which doesn't seem to heal. I think it's because he is constantly licking his paw and then rubbing it up and down his eye either because it hurts or itches. I've been putting the tetracycline gel in his eyes 3 times daily but then he runs off and starts wiping his eye with his saliva-laden paw! I am hoping this product will help to soothe his eye in order to decrease him further irritating the eye with the constant rubbing.
