In June of 2013 I rescued my black cat. The Humane Society told me Sooki was about 2 years old at the time. Within a few months she started licking everything—including the furniture and especially the house walls. I took her to a Vet and she was diagnosed with feline stomatitis. Her gums were inflamed and it was recommended that all of her teeth be removed–a standard practice. I found another vet who said he had previous success with 1-TDC with cats suffering from this incurable disease. He started her on 2 per day. After 6 months there was about a 50% remission. After a year she showed no signs of the disease. The Vet said she would have to remain on 1-TDC for the rest of her life–1 per day, which I have continued. 5 stars for performance and convenience. I have used 2 other Kenmore Canisters over past 5 decades. Pretty good static. Yes there are more plastic parts and Yes they will break more easily than the older models (reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). What products haven't changed over to plastics in the last 50 yrs? Granted I have to be more careful handling the newer replacement items BUT they still clean better than the so called latest, greatest and better designed ones. I have an almost 5 year old golden who absolutely hates having his teeth brushed. He has had seriously terrible tarter and plaque build up (and bad breath) and I was seriously considering have him put under for a deep teeth cleaning. I started using this stuff twice a day, sprinkled and shaken with his dry kibble. I wasn't expecting anything major, but y'all the results are seriously AMAZING!!!! The tarter and plaque has all but disappeared from his teeth (especially his back molars and front upper canines) without any brushing at all, and his breath is significantly better. His teeth are significantly whiter and cleaner looking, and I swear they almost sparkle again like when he was a young lass when we're outside in the sunlight. I started using this a few years ago. It does a good job of keeping the tartar from hardening on the dog’s teeth. I still wipe the teeth a few times a week and they clean up with just a dental wipe. The other thing that this does is prevent tear and saliva stains. I discovered that when I ran out, a few years back, and didn’t reorder right away. My white chihuahua’s tear stains came back, as soon as it was out of her system. And my other chihuahua that licks his white paws, turned brown again. I have an almost 5 year old golden who absolutely hates having his teeth brushed. He has had seriously terrible tarter and plaque build up (and bad breath) and I was seriously considering have him put under for a deep teeth cleaning. I started using this stuff twice a day, sprinkled and shaken with his dry kibble. I wasn't expecting anything major, but y'all the results are seriously AMAZING!!!! The tarter and plaque has all but disappeared from his teeth (especially his back molars and front upper canines) without any brushing at all, and his breath is significantly better. His teeth are significantly whiter and cleaner looking, and I swear they almost sparkle again like when he was a young lass when we're outside in the sunlight. I started using this a few years ago. It does a good job of keeping the tartar from hardening on the dog’s teeth. I still wipe the teeth a few times a week and they clean up with just a dental wipe. The other thing that this does is prevent tear and saliva stains. I discovered that when I ran out, a few years back, and didn’t reorder right away. My white chihuahua’s tear stains came back, as soon as it was out of her system. And my other chihuahua that licks his white paws, turned brown again. My cat has had stomatitis for years and traditional vet medicine has not done much for him. I decided to try the Healthy Gums drops for his painful gums that one steroid a day kept mainly under control although there were always flareups. From the first time I applied the drops, it was like I had a new cat who was frisky, wanting to play, eating like a horse, going outside, climbing up the cat post. I don’t know whether the drops are healing his gums but they are certainly keeping him pain free as far as I can tell. I start with a new vet who practises holistic as well as traditional medicine on June 3 so I will see what else she will suggest. But the Healthy Gums product has been like a miracle. My dog Brock is 14 and I have been doing everything I can to save his teeth. Brushing, water additives, dental specialist, you name it. We have an older 14 yr old bichon/pom. His teeth had plaque and tartar and his breath smelled like poop. After using this product for about 3 days, I noticed his breath was better and the yellow on the front of his teeth vanished. Also, his back molars are improving. We have a standard size Goldendoodle at about 70lbs. We had been using Greenie's dental for a while until we discovered Kirkland ones. These look similar but are slightly smaller when comparing the large ones. But these cost fraction of what Greenie costs. Can't comment on effectiveness as have not had enough time, however, I have no difficulty getting the dogs to consume these. They jump up and down when I'm getting the product out of the packet in the next room. After a couple of months, they still are just as excited. With two large dogs it's a little expensive to give them out every day but if it helps to keep their teeth clean then that will make it worth it.94Viper
