This is our second Gooby harness purchase. I actually prefer this style to the previous mesh one with suede trim. We had previously purchased the Gooby Trekking Step-in Memory Foam Dog Harness РMandarin Orange РMedium and loved it so we thought this harness would be great as well. We ordered a medium, yet runs smaller than the ‘trekking’ harness (that medium fits her perfectly) Therefore it seems a bit too tight even on the loosest setting. We also ordered a large (from another website) and although that seems to fit her a bit more comfortably, it seems a bit too big. As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. I own a 50 pound Cocker, Poodle mix. He isn't a large dog, I'd call him medium size, but he has a very muscular chest. I need a strong Harness to handle him on walks. This is the only company that makes these large, strong, well made, and easy to put on dog harnesses in large sizes. My dog wears an XXL. I only buy this kind, and brand. He is 5 years old now, and this is his fourth harness. The first two harnesses he out grew, and the last he just wore out. These last a good log time. If every dog owner knew about this harness, the others would go out of business. So easy to put on and take off. No adjusting of any straps, or anything! Best harness out there!pennyklyber13
This harness is soft and padded. My dog seems real comfortable in it. I used the measurement guide provided in the listing, ordered by his girth /chest measurement and it fits him well. He is a medium size dog, weighs about 35 lbs, and he needed an XL in this harness. He cannot slip out of it, and there seems to be no way this harness could cause discomfort if he pulls back on his leash.robot42

It looks like a great dog halter. This is the third halter I ve gotten for my cairn terrier mix. This one looks like he might not be able to escape. Unfortunately, it is way too small for my dog. There is only one size smaller, and I expect it is too big, also. The receipt was illegible, and I have no idea how to send the halter back. I plan to donate it to the animal shelter. I am still looking for a halter he won t escape from.

But he didn't like it either – it is pretty heavy and made him overheat. Might work for winter but I have to figure out how to modify the back strap so he can pee free.

I am very particular when it comes to dog 'stuff', especially collars, leashes and harnesses. I purchased this harness to use when my dog does dock diving. I needed a waterproof harness and she is insane about the sport so her training and manners go by the wayside so she pulls like a plow horse! Usually, we get a size large harness for our dog (50lbs, Australian Shepard). However, this large was too big, but would be fine as a normal XL harness. It does not get small/tight enough with the one adjustable point it has. It comes with a d-ring in the front, which is nice to help combat pulling if you’re going that route. Overall I am happy with this backpack. The fabric and stitching seems strong and well made. I was excited to try this for our very anxious dog who has difficulty walking because of anxiety. I used the backpack both empty and with water bottles for weight. The straps held in place well, and the weight did not shift the backpack around. I didn't like how awkward it is to get onto the dog, you actually have to make your dog step into it and fit it around the torso. With an extra added buckle the backpack would be able to lay across the top of the dog and then buckle under the torso instead of forcing an unwilling dog to step into the harness. But, that's truly a minor inconvenience. I'm not sure if the weight actually reduced my dog's anxiety, but I'll keep trying it and see! I received this product free in exchange for my honest review
Love this harness backpack! I wish it came in more colors though. It's a nice way to have my dog with endless energy carry a few items to add a bit of resistance. He has high energy who could run for miles, while I have some disabilities. Got the XL for my 72lb muscular Shephard Mix. At first I thought the straps were too small to wrap around his chest but finally figured out how to lengthen the straps. Great backpack and he loves wearing it because Vic knows we're in for a hike. It's very fashionable and has nice reflective material. 2 big side pockets are great for carrying items (it says has 4 pockets & access to poop bag but that's inaccurate but I like the 2 pockets better). Carrying a water bottle is really useful but vest tends to slide slightly to the side due to uneven weight of bottle. Doesn't seem to affect him though. Water comes in handy on our 1.5 mile hike after we both get thirsty! Highly recommend this vest!Vic's Dad
