After I took the cot out of the box, I set it up inside in front of some large windows where I know my dog likes to sun himself. He was not sure what to make of it but I invited him up on it and the rest is history. He know uses it daily. It's plenty big to stretch out on and he acts like he is the king from high on his "perch". I really was excited to try my Lucky Dog Elevated Pet Bed Cot when it arrived. I wanted to see how the dogs would like it. They have always used more traditional type beds and this was a totally new experience. First of all, it needed to be assembled. When it arrives you see all kinds of tubes that need to be connected to set up the bed. The directions say it should take about 20 minutes to assemble for 1 person. We did not find that to be true and the instructions are not as clear as I believe they could be. It took my husband and myself well over an hour to get this bed right. Lining up the pieces and getting the connecters in tight was much more work than we anticipated. As far as how my dogs like it, one is still afraid of it after having it over a week and the other likes it pretty well. So the reaction to it was a bit mixed. To be fair, the dog who is afraid of it has a tendency to be a bit wimpy about things in general. The dog who likes it really doesn't sleep on it much, she just likes sitting on it to look out the window. The material is canvas like and I am not sure she finds it that comfortable to lay on, plus the middle kind of sinks down a bit and is not supportive. I tried putting on a blanket on it and she does seem to like that better. She will lay on it from time to time. Overall, I wouldn't neccesarily recommend this bed. It is just okay in my opinion.

plastic parts have nubs that stop the side bars, when I pushed ( not very hard) the plastic piece snapped and broke. I found a way to fix it with long splints and zip ties, but very disappointed it broke. also, instructions say the middle legs should be facing in, but the middle support bar won't fit, so one one middle leg has to be on the outside of the frame and the other has to be on the outside of the frame. In addition the material in the middle sags, even without a dog laying on it. Glad I have small dogs. They do love it, but will eventually have to replace the zip ties and wooden splints, as I do have a chewer.Lila

The cot is made of very duarable materiel and metal legs. My dog is an Australian Cattle Dog, he is about 45 lbs. and the bed is perfect for his size. He always tears up beds so I thought a cot would be better and he can t tear this one apart cause it s made with quality durable materials. He hasn t really used it a lot but it is a quality product and he seems to like it when he does use it. He likes to lay on the cold tile floor cause it s hot now but, I m sure in the winter he will lay on it more. I would recommend this product for anyone look for a pet bed.
I ordered three new cots from Groupon and after two months all three cots the seams came apart. I have four dogs, two labs 85 lbs each, one goldendoodle 65 lbs, and a King Charles Cavalier (8 lbs). They love their cots. Each one has their own and the little dog shares with the labs. I bought the XL, I am extremely disappointed in the quality and would like a refund. I don t recommend buying.

If you have any issues with strength, make sure you get some help. It took three of us to do it. Yes, I would recommend. Yes, it is a good value, and yes, it is of good quality. The why did I give it a rating of 3 stars? Well, because the picture is deceiving. So, I guess I'm rating the seller verses the product. That looks like a good sized dog, at least, 55 – 60 lbs minimum. It's stretched so prettily on the gorgeous red cot. Warning: Pay very close attention to the measurements! If the cot pictured is the same size cot I purchased for my dog, I'm tempted to say I'll eat my hat. My dog is on the small side. She is about 37 lbs and under 3 feet long. She takes up nearly the whole cot when she's laying on it. I've had other cots for large dogs that were considerably more roomy. This does not detract from the quality or value of the cot. I just forewarn do not use the picture as a point of reference for size, do an actual measurement.ajul6163
I have 3 chihuahuas ranging in size from 10 lbs, 17 lbs, and 25 lbs. This bed is big enough to fit all 3 of them. So far only one of them has hopped up on it and she seems to like it. It's only a matter of time before they all try it out. My back porch has an awning so I put it there so it won't be affected by the weather. I wanted an elevated bed because when it rains heavy the water starts to flow onto the porch because the patio to the side of my porch has a crack in the cement and slopes downward in the direction of my porch. The last bed I had on the porch wasn't elevated and it got soaked and dirty. Assembly was pretty easy to do by myself. My dogs aren't chewers or destructive so I expect this bed will last them for several years. I'm very happy I bought it.JKR
This is a high quality, easy to put together bed. I was not sure about the large size and my bigger springer spaniel would like to claim it as his own, but his smaller brother gets up by him to snuggle and enjoy the bed. The smaller one just prefers it to the orthopedic bed on the floor. Will probably buy another smaller one after the holiday, because I'm so happy with the item. I will get the same brand and hope to buy from the same seller because the shipping was fast and instructions were so clear. Thanks for making our life nicer. Great concept, but not sturdy. Bottom started to rip in the middle from the weight of a medium sized 8 month old Australian Shepherd. Then he began to get himself tangled in the top, so that had to be removed and it was tearing at the seam. It seemed like he was too big for it. The cat had done well with it before I have ot to the dog that was kept outside. Shouldn't give it to a rambunctious puppy.Barbara G.
This is my 2nd bed. The first one succumbed to the weather after a couple of years. The fabric of the shade canopy ripped to shreds first, but we continued to use the bed for another summer until a heavy child tried to stand on it and his leg went through. As lightweight and easy to move the bed is, though, I didn’t expect it to last forever, and I purchased a new one as soon as the large size version was restocked. I can’t get my old severely arthritic and stubborn bulldog to use it, but she’s happy to stay inside when I work outside. My mama’s boy pug insists on being with me wherever I am, and he absolutely loves the bed and it helps him with the heat. I know he doesn’t really need this huge one, but I still have hopes that the much larger bulldog will try it sometime. The cot is made of very duarable materiel and metal legs. My dog is an Australian Cattle Dog, he is about 45 lbs. and the bed is perfect for his size. He always tears up beds so I thought a cot would be better and he can t tear this one apart cause it s made with quality durable materials. He hasn t really used it a lot but it is a quality product and he seems to like it when he does use it. He likes to lay on the cold tile floor cause it s hot now but, I m sure in the winter he will lay on it more. I would recommend this product for anyone look for a pet bed.
I ordered three new cots from Groupon and after two months all three cots the seams came apart. I have four dogs, two labs 85 lbs each, one goldendoodle 65 lbs, and a King Charles Cavalier (8 lbs). They love their cots. Each one has their own and the little dog shares with the labs. I bought the XL, I am extremely disappointed in the quality and would like a refund. I don t recommend buying.
The bed is fine for what I had hoped. It seems durable. The dog uses it. The assembly was not as easy as I thought from reading the reviews. The design of the set up is easy to understand. If you have any issues with strength, make sure you get some help. It took three of us to do it. There is a Velcro side that doesn t get immediately put together until the canvas relaxes enough to stretch.
