So thankful for this crate set. It came just in time for us to take a last minute 8-10 hour round trip. I was glad to be able to leave our pup at home with food and water! Purchased the 48” and the bowls are giant! Great for lots of water but silly looking for only 1-1.5 cups of dry food. The cover is nicer in person, I was afraid it was going to look like a tarp or plastic garbage bag but it’s good quality. Super easy setup, this is folding even though it’s not in the title. My pup does try to chew it a bit but so far no damage. I did have to remove the bed because he was clawing it and eating the fibers that he pulled off. I did wash the bed and lay in sun to dry. Washed well. Divider easy to use. This is my first ever wire crate. The least likeable part is how easy it is for my kids to open anytime they want. Wish there was a child lock! Haha. My pup is a Lab/Border Collie/hound mix. Went with 48” because I have no idea how big he will get. The height is perfect because he is super tall. I bought this crate because I was honestly too lazy to build another for my dogs. The look is clean and I like that it is tall enough for my dogs to not have to hunch over if sitting and looking out. It was also easy to assemble if you have basic build knowledge/ screw driver experience but there are a couple poor design qualities: 1) The designers supplied two latches to be installed INSIDE the crate living space for one door to be able to latch closed to the frame. Yes, this is essential but my dogs like to dig and fluff and get comfy and my pit has very easily scratched skin. There is no doubt my dogs would eventually get scratched on the cheap metal latches supplied. That paired with the fact that I don’t have time to reach into the crate while my dog is attempting to exit out of one side of the door. They’re too big and will need both doors open to exit. I will be altering this design to latch on the outside. 2) The actual door latch. Being placed in the middle of two hinged doors makes a weak attachment and the latch to secure your dog in the crate should attach to the crate frame to be secure. This ties into the above issue but again, I will be altering to make it more secure. If you have little dogs that can’t put much weight against the door, you’re fine. But with medium sized dogs, I’d rather not risk getting the particle board split on accident if my dog leans her fat butt against the door. 3) Its particle board. So price is a little high just for that. 4) the door handles are fragile. Will be replacing. A few easy alterations to secure the doors and I’ll be perfectly happy with this crate. The large is good more medium sized dogs. I have a 25lbs border collie mix that it is perfect for and my fat 50lbs pit will be able to use it as well since she likes to curl up. Also, for those asking about where the pee goes… this is a dog crate for house trained dogs and is not meant for a dog to live and potty in. The removable tray is there and easily slides in and out in case of an accident but hopefully you’re able to let your dog out to go potty before an accident happens.88JenS

I am very pleased with this Dog Crate – it is a very attractive addition to my cottage decor. My dog, a 70# labradoodle is very comfortable in it, however, I had to replace the bed cushion because the bolstered sides of the cushion eliminated about 6 inches of room for him to stretch out in. I just replaced it with a flat dog bed I had that fits the crate perfectly, and now he uses the bed cushion elsewhere in the house. The only reason I am not giving this a 5th star is that the locking mechanism on the doors is pretty flimsy. And one of the slide locks at the bottom of the door is not properly aligned so it is unusable. Fortunately, my dog is content in a crate and does not try to get out – but he could get out, easily, if he tried. I will have to put a stronger lock on the doors myself.Donna

The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09
We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! Over the last 2 years, I have completely purchased all new furniture from the Slumberland in Maple Grove Minnesota. The salesman knew that I had 3 upcoming surgeries and I also had fractured bones in my right hand. When my delivery came, the driver told me that he wasn't allowed to carry these 2 boxes into my home. Each box was 33 pounds. I had to lift them into my home and up 7 steps to the upper level of my home. I was very lucky that my grandson came and put them together for me. The next day I went back to this same Slumberland with my daughter. The salesperson, Nancy, came over and asked me how I liked the pet beds. When I told her how the boxes were left outside and no one would carry them upstairs, she replied, that's what you get with free delivery. I am still upset with her comment. NO one gave me an option to pay to have boxes brought into my home and put the beds together for me.NANCY

Instructions were good but brief, missing some smaller details on placement of blocks, also short you about 6 pieces of wood that need to be cut making the process a little confusing. Also had to bend the tabs for the front door to fit on the wood frame since they were bent inward. I bought this crate because I was honestly too lazy to build another for my dogs. The look is clean and I like that it is tall enough for my dogs to not have to hunch over if sitting and looking out. It was also easy to assemble if you have basic build knowledge/ screw driver experience but there are a couple poor design qualities: 1) The designers supplied two latches to be installed INSIDE the crate living space for one door to be able to latch closed to the frame. Yes, this is essential but my dogs like to dig and fluff and get comfy and my pit has very easily scratched skin. There is no doubt my dogs would eventually get scratched on the cheap metal latches supplied. That paired with the fact that I don’t have time to reach into the crate while my dog is attempting to exit out of one side of the door. They’re too big and will need both doors open to exit. I will be altering this design to latch on the outside. 2) The actual door latch. Being placed in the middle of two hinged doors makes a weak attachment and the latch to secure your dog in the crate should attach to the crate frame to be secure. This ties into the above issue but again, I will be altering to make it more secure. If you have little dogs that can’t put much weight against the door, you’re fine. But with medium sized dogs, I’d rather not risk getting the particle board split on accident if my dog leans her fat butt against the door. 3) Its particle board. So price is a little high just for that. 4) the door handles are fragile. Will be replacing. A few easy alterations to secure the doors and I’ll be perfectly happy with this crate. The large is good more medium sized dogs. I have a 25lbs border collie mix that it is perfect for and my fat 50lbs pit will be able to use it as well since she likes to curl up. Also, for those asking about where the pee goes… this is a dog crate for house trained dogs and is not meant for a dog to live and potty in. The removable tray is there and easily slides in and out in case of an accident but hopefully you’re able to let your dog out to go potty before an accident happens.88JenS
