Easy to put together, all the pieces were there and even some extra to make it a full rectangle and not a U shaped. Some of the boards were cracked a little but it doesnt affect the integrity currently. I plan on getting another one to add on top of the current one i have, or maybe add to it. Who knows. This is awful. The wood is cheap and splintered, cracks if you breathe on it. Was difficult to assemble, boards were warped – looks terrible. Several caps split apart when screwing in. My Dad pulled it to slide it and adjust the way it was sitting and it busted apart. Two of the support pieces broke completely. We drilled some screws in to hold it together and even threw in some wood adhesive hoping for the best. I can’t imagine it would make for a second season – just hoping it makes it through this one. This wasn’t a cheap buy, so if you are going to spend $80/$90 invest it in something else. Sigh. 🙁Melinda

First of all, the customer service is outstanding…Melissa was so patient with me. I needed to make sure the delivery was not just dropped at the curb…she made sure the freight company FEDEX would pallet it into my garage, which they did. Now for the garden. It is so well made. Just like I hoped it would be. My handy man put it together by himself in about 5 hours. Came back and put up the deer proof screens in an hour. I’ve wanted a raised garden bed like this for years. We moved to a larger wooded property 2 years ago and finally had the space, so we pulled the trigger on a purchase. FedEx called to schedule delivery and iron out details (we had access to a forklift so didn’t have to pay the additional fee). Instructions were pretty easy to follow. Only confusing part is they send instructions for 8×8, 8×12, and deer fencing. We found the 8×8 first and thought they sent the wrong item! Eventually found the rest of the instructions and got down to business. Took my husband and I most of the day. Probably 6-8 hrs as others have said. Having two drills would’ve really helped decrease the time spent switching between drill bits and screws. We filled the bottom with about 8” of rock to prevent moles from digging up underneath and help with drainage. Covered that with 12” of good top soil. The kit WITHOUT deer fencing has the option of fold down panels at the back to make reaching some of the plants easier. We made some modifications to the deer fencing kit so that the large fencing panels at the back were able to fold down. All pieces were already included. We are very pleased with the end results and are hoping for a fruitful harvest! Friends and family have made numerous compliments on this garden. It’s beautiful!Rachel G.

I just purchased this (including deer proofing and watering system), within the last month and I really love it. It's just enough space for a small garden without feeling overwhelming. It's also beautiful and adds to the landscape instead of looking like an eyesore. It makes me happy every time I look at it! But even more importantly was the time saved. Once the yard was leveled and cleared of grass, which took on and off work over two weekends, it only took a few hours of easy labor for me and my husband to put the garden together. Typically, things like this are such a pain because you have to make a list, go to a store where you'll spend quite a while gathering all the material. Then, you have to spend a significant amount of time cutting the wood to size and attaching the fencing. All that before you can even begin! To me, it was worth it to spend a little extra money to have all the materials shipped to me, ready to go. I remarked several times to my husband, who is always building something, that this was the only project he'd gotten through without cussing up a storm! Also, the shipping was super fast, which I wasn't even concerned about, but was nice. I placed my order on a Saturday and had the garden by the next Friday and the watering system a few days after that. I really can't say enough good things about the product or Eartheasy!
Was pleased with the ease of ordering, the short time it took to have it delivered, and the quality of the kit. As other reviewers have mentioned it is CRITICAL that the ground is completely level before assembling the kit. This is not an exciting task to perfectly level the ground, but it makes the assembling of the kit relatively easy with a helper. . Remove the grass if it is in a area with grass. I found the best way to level is to take a 1" x 4" x 8' board and put a level on top of it Get the ground to be about 90% level. Once this is done cover with 2-3 inches of sand. I recently had my Deer Proof, Cedar Raised Garden Bed assembled. The assembly went fairly quickly however establishing the foundation was time consuming due to sloping grounds. I'm very happy with the set up and my plants are thriving! This is no small project from unpacking, weatherproofing with a cedar stain, preparing a level foundation, purchasing bags and bags of topsoil and potting mix, and hooking up an irrigation system inside the beds(optional). Besides that, it's very costly. However, my family and grandkids will be rewarded with a basic gardening education and edible organic fruits and veggies over the years. This was a high-quality "kit". It took patience to assemble but I have a garden that I'm excited about. Their time estimates were probably low – but I assembled by myself so that made it more difficult. There were a few pieces that I had to trim (with a circular saw) so that things would align. That doesn't bother me – the individual sections were all solidly built and made of quality cedar. I was looking for a large planter box to put on my patio, and it was my faulty that I did not understand that the term "raised bed planter" means it has no bottom and it is intended to be placed directly on soil. The wood is unfinished as well, so it needs to be painted or stained or it will warp. I don't think the quality of the material is very good for the price. I wish Hayneedle this product description had clearly stated that this produce was not a self-contained planter as are the other planters and pots. I bought this to help my plants get some extra heat this summer as I live in the Pacific Northwest where we seldom get really hot days. Also, this winter I will be able to grow some greens as it is tall and will keep the lettuces from suffering from frost. You unzip the plastic and under that is another zipper with mesh for ventilation. Zippers do have a life that is shorter than the actual enclosure but I have found that when the zipper ceases to zip properly you can open it all the way and use clothes pins and it works just fine and will extend the life of the enclosure. I would not be without this and am pleased with the purchase.Madriverwalker

I am not too handy with tools but was able to quickly assemble after consultation with Greg Bailey who spent a few minutes describing the process. With help from my son we assembled in less than an hour. Looks great and we love it – got our peas in and they quickly sprouted. Took one star off because a 2×2 piece came broken… and the hinges are plastic… otherwise it's a 5 star garden. I'm glad they had an 8×8 size. Would have loved the 8×12 if our yard could have fit a garden that size. Easy enough to put together. We had two drills set up… one with the drill bit to predrill holes as needed… and one drill set to screw the screws in. One 2×2 top piece came broken and they are sending a replacement piece. For being so well built, I was surprised that the hinges on the flip up trellis are black plastic. They won't last even a summer of use here in Arizona. I'm replacing the plastic hinges with metal ones. I love that I don't have to bend to the ground to tend the garden. I can also control my soil conditions … and the extra depth helps roots grow deeper into the garden. We added the Titan Squash Tunnel and look forward to when the squash leaves have covered the tunnel creating a more shady spot for vegs to keep growing during our very hot sunny weather this summer. I might try sitting out there in the shade! I'll try to post progress pictures later this season, and add additional comments as I discover them. We're pleased with the quality of the components, packaging, and assembly instructions. The delivery person didn't love the weight of the 3 boxes (and they *are* heavy), but things arrived intact and undamaged thanks to efficient packaging. Individual panels were well made and everything went together in about 4 hours. Please note, though, that I have a lot of experience with this sort of project. Note also that it would have been difficult for me to replicate this raised bed on my own/with my own materials for this price (including my labor costs) and thus was worth the expense. An extra pair of hands might be useful for some folks, but I found that Quick-Grip style clamps held things together just fine for assembly on my own. The directions do not include information about the importance of squaring everything up before installing final braces, so be aware of this detail before trying to install the gate at the end.Drew B.

I did not find the assembly hard. I am a woman in her 60’s and used a socket wrench. There are a lot of screws but I appreciate how small the packaging was for shipping to save energy for the planet. I really like the light green color, it blends in beautifully with my garden. I will be ordering another. I did purchase an extra set of bracing bars because even when the container is not filled the metal is bulging a little in the middle. I am filling the bottom with wood logs, compost and then top soil. I cannot speak to how long it will last as I have just received it and I am now in the process of filling it. I’m very pleased with this raised bed. The material seems durable with a good coating on it. I was able to put it together easily. The wrench for tightening the nuts actually has a socket on it for good grip. There were a few more nuts, bolts and washers than needed. In the past I’ve been frustrated when I’ve dropped a needed nut or bolt and then can’t find it. No problem here! At first I thought the raised bed might be larger than I needed but it fit perfectly into the space and I’ve already filled it with soil and plants! I did not order what might have been my preferred color because it was back ordered. Due to supply chain issues I was afraid it might be a long time before it arrived. The in-stock one I ordered arrived so fast I was glad I ordered that color.Mary B.
I ordered the 8’ x 2’ 17” tall kit. Shipping was super fast. The beds went together easily although it was time consuming. I did not have any problem removing the plastic film like other people have said. I think they look awesome and I can’t wait to replace the other three wooden beds that I have! The only observation/suggestion I have is this: the 8’ beds need an additional support rod for the bottom. When we filled the first bed, with just the two support rods, the bottom of the bed bowed out. My husband, who is a machinist, took the extra, shorter support rod pieces, put them together and made another rod for the bottom center. This bed did not bow out like the first one did.Denise W.

I have very sensitive eyes & theyre usually pinkish. Very few brands of eye drops improve them. I mainly use the Walmarts Equate brand for eye allergy which works the best for me. I bought two of the raised planters with the grey color. They look great and are nice looking too. Here's the bad news. The metal they are made from is not quite thick enough to keep the sides from bulging when full of dirt. I even reinforced mine because of what I read in the reviews, and they still bulged but maybe not as bad as they would have had I not done that. With all that said, I still think they are a good value for what you get. I would pay more for a heavier gauge of metal if they offered it.Daniel C.
This is my first time ordering a galvanized garden bed as I previously built redwood ones. For the price of $110- it did not disappoint and may be the future for my garden needs. Unsure of how it withstand over the next year(s), but for now it serves its purpose. The downside the the bad directions; although not hard to figure out, just more of an annoyance that it is vague and parts weren’t labeled. An example would be: 6 steel sheets all just attached back to back so it all appeared to fit. Nope, found out one sheet was a different size thus needed to swap with the other one. Hence, has to take apart 48 nuts and bolts only to put them back together. Pay close attention to the sheets when ordering the 6×3.Amy C.
Bought this because it was one of the taller beds I could find and I live in an area with Bermuda grass. Instructions said assembly takes about 45 minutes but this is most definitely not the case; there are so many screws! Each bed by myself took about 3 hours. It also scratches very easily, if looks matter to you. The real issue for me though is the metal; the top and bottom edges are folded, ostensibly for safety, but the sides are not; I gashed my hands on every bed I was assembling (wasn't wearing gloves at all times because I needed the dexterity to fit all the screws and remove the plastic film).Ronald T.
