Our dog is still loving and playful, but is no longer terrorizing the house. I am eating right next to her and she's simply chewing on a toy. Before, I could never leave her out of her cage unless I was directly on top of her. I combine verbal commands with either vibration or beeping, and treats. I haven't tried the shock, and I hope I never have to. I don't see how it would shock because there is rubber over the electrodes… Also, it is disappointing to see the amount of people on here who say they bought this to essentially electrocute their dogs simply because they got breeds they have no idea how to handle. Do I know how to handle a gigantic, stubborn dog? Absolutely not, and that's why I got one that fits my abilities. Dogs are a hug decision. For many people, you do need to shop around a lot until you find your friend. You can't walk into a shelter or store and pick up just any dog and expect everything to work out.
This helped immediately. He was already aware of the beeping because of the underground fence. This helped let him know very quickly to stop the behavior that was making him hard to handle. I highly recommend this. My dog is a German Shepard mix and he did feel the shock the few times we had to use it.
I have had this for a few weeks and I'm very happy. New puppy did not want to listen this is a great tool because you have the beep the vibration and the shock.I have never had to use anything but the beep most of the time and the vibration once in awhile have never used the shock. It works great would highly recommend. never have to touch the dog, or raise your voice.

disappointed. Its a poor design. The rounded part (NOT the part against the dogs neck) is what really vibrates. My dog (35lb spaniel) doesn't seem to feel it! Only twice in the past week have I had to stimulate him, somewhere between level 6 and 11. Then for a day or two after that, only the pager button is needed to turn him around. I have always been apprehensive of shock collars, but my dog was back-tracking on her training. She has always behaved very well on a leash, just to forget that training when the leash comes off. These collars work great with a little bit of time and training. After a year of use, with supervision, I can now take my dogs (Basenji & G.Shep) outside on our 3 acres without the collars because they have now learned the boundaries. My favorite feature of these collars is the nightlight and the beep function. The nightlight is perfect for going out at night and keeping my eyes on where each dog is located. The beep function is fantastic, my dogs have learned the beep means to turn around and come back. During training I used the shock function (level 8 & I did test the level of intensity on my own leg) only a handful of times when absolutely necessary and it's never used now. Both dogs now respond to the beep and if they're chasing a deer they'll stop to the vibrate function. The two CONS I have with these collars are the rubber covers for the progs come off so easily when the dogs are wrestling and get lost constantly. The other con is that I've had the collars close to a year now and the rechargeable batteries within the device are dying. The collars are on charge constantly now so that they are charged up for when they are needed. The collar dies within about 8 hours before it needs a charge even if it's turned off. Whereas when I first got them the charge lasted about a week. This is after treating them correctly, turning off when not in use and only charging when needed.Elizabeth R.
I have used this collar for 2-3 years now, I went with it as it is one of the highest rated collars when researched. I do run into technical difficulties as you do with anything else and have had no problem with having them replaced. I favorite part is the range and diverse control settings. When my dogs are out of the yard, I just hit the sound button and they know they have went to far and to get back. They come usually immediately. My least favorite part is the product does not seem to last very long.. in the two to three years I’ve used this, I have had to get a few replaced and all with different problems. I recently bought a brand new set of two, and I am very happy. I just have a problem with one of them flashing the green light constantly while the device is on and the battery life on that specific collar does not last. I love how the vibration & shock can be set from 0-99. The sound tones are also pitched slightly different for each collar & has the option to add a third collar. I’ve had this for months & the battery in the remote lasts extremely long. I think I’ve only charged it once. The collars last days as well. The only thing I wish was easier is the ability to switch over from each channel. When you switch from shock to vibrate, the first click is to switch over, then the second click actually vibrates the collar (& vice versa). When switching over to the other channel, you have to follow the same procedure. Which is fine for normal circumstances. But, when it’s an emergent situation, that extra time it takes to shock/ vibrate the other collar can make a huge difference & lead to a struggle in a stressful situation.Erin

As far as the tone and vibration the product works well. But the shocking feature seems to run the battery down very quick. I can usually get about 4 corrective shocks out of the receiver before the range decreases dramatically and then 1-2 closer shocks before they loose all effectiveness but the tone and vibration will still work. The collar works very well. I do not know if it is the collar or my dog, but the shock button is rarely used because the vibration seems to work with her. I'll first start by saying I never do reviews. However I was at my wits end with our nine month old chiweenie. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery… It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky… I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I wasted almost $100 on collars that do not work on either dog. Petsafe customer service recommended that I should purchase the more expensive Deluxe Petsafe Collar. No thanks. I bought this about a week ago after I received a complaint from a neighbor and was given a warning from our HOA for disturbance. We had just moved in about a month ago and didnt want to make enemies. My dog barks at everything. From shadows, birds to airplanes. I decided to give this a try. best collar yet! I start with the vibration first and then resort to shock last case scenario. It does not hurt as long as you have the shock on the low setting. I have a puppy who is a Aussie blue heeler and it helped a lot especially since I work from home. We got a 6 month old long haired dachshund puppy to add to our family, which already included a 12yo indoor only cat. That was 8 months ago. We did everything correctly from the beginning to ensure that our two fur babies would, at very least, tolerate each other enough to peacefully coexist in our home. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we just never have been able to stop our pup from chasing, cornering and general tormenting of the cat. Don't get me wrong the cat has now for the most part stopped running and stands her ground which means there is a noisy fight. To clarify, the cat is fighting and hissing and growling. The dog thinks she's playing and loves the game and he hears nothing else when focused on this game. Out of desperation to stop the yelling, fighting, hissing, etc I began researching training collars and finally settled on this one. We LOVE it. It worked the first day! "I have 2 dogs I use this with. After several years of working with them, there a few things I have yet to accomplish. My larger dog sneaks off to steal the cat food at night. I put this on her and used the shock part on level 4 twice now, without a word, and she bolts out of the kitchen; the cat food remains untouched. Instead of getting frustrated with constant corrections, I easily adjusted the collar to fit her in the day time. Most times the vibrate, on level 4, is enough to make her stop. (I still use a verbal correction once before using the vibrate.) She is doing those thing far less just in the first week of use. She’s almost abandon those bad habits entirely now. I’ve only had to charge the collar and remote once since I started using it and That’s with them turned on 24/7! Very good quality product. I would definitely recommend it for anyone working on distance training."
I have a small, 16 pound Boston Terrier that I think identifies as a velociraptor. I have finally decided it is going to take a little more than my strong verbal reprimands to stop her going bezerk over the cat and any dogs walking by. I like the look of this unit, seemed streamlined. It works great! I have seen improvement in her behavior, thinking twice about being so reactive to everything, after just a couple shocks. The shock unit itself is rather big compared to her size. No fault of the brand as they all appear to be quite large and she is so small, with hardly and fur on her neck, so it sticks out pretty far, even with the shorter prongs. She just needs little stubby prongs and I wish they made one more set that was smaller. I've had it a week and haven't had to recharge the collar or the remote, so the battery time seems pretty good. I do wish the beep and vibrate buttons weren't completely white, it is hard to see which one is which. The shock button is orange and larger, so can't miss that one!
We have a fenced in acre of property. We named the dog Waldo because we were always asking where is the dog when he went out with the other pups. Calling him and then using the alert he learned to come back. I used the shock set on 6 once when a fence board had been knocked down by bad weather and he was trying to exit the yard. He backed up about 10 feet and sat immediately. I gave the beep and he came in. I think he believes the fence shocked him. Now he avoids the fence by a 4 foot distance. Definitely good purchase. We have coyotes out here and even when he hears them, he still comes when I beep him. We just rescued a 4 month old Yorkie mix and she could get out of the fence without much effort. But I think Waldo told her it would shock her! She follows him and now she returns even without the collar on when I beep him! Would purchase again.
