this is a really well made, sturdy, and nice looking pet carrier. there are solid feet on the bottom for setting the carrier down so that it isn't sitting directly on floors. the bottom comes out for easy washing and care. the look and material are all well made and attractive. really nice design. the handles are very sturdy and solid and carrying the pet around in this carrier is easy and not flimsy at all. easy to wash out if need be. and collapses for easy storage or travel if need be as well. highly recommend. would be great for a cat, a small dog. of even if needed to be a travel bag that is breathable. it's a really nicely made and attractive carrier. highly recommend.fetchedbygrace

I just received my cat carrier today. It is sturdy and well-equipped. It has the regular carrying handles and it also has a large shoulder strap with ample cushioning on it. It opens from the top or there is a flap on the front of the carrier if you prefer to put the cat/dog in that way. Our cat has only been in a cat carrier one time and there was a lot of "fighting" just to get her into it. I suppose this one would be no easier to load a cat/dog. The carrier is black with mesh sides and front and there is a short leash attached to the inside, if needed. I wish it was a nicer color though. Our cat is also black, so it will be harder for us to see her once we put her inside. The carrier looks and feels very strong and durable though. It is something you would need in any emergency or just if you need to transport your cat/dog. It is large enough for a large cat or small dog, for a short, temporary transport.ddcrz

This Vibrant pet carrier is a very attractive sharp looking pet carrier that looks a lot more expensive than the listed price. I call that a great value bargain. Looks and feels like it's made with strong materials that will last a long time. It's lightweight, big plus. It has plenty of air circulation coming from one whole screened side and from both screened ends. Nice to have 2 carrying choices, by shoulder strap or hand grip. The inside floor bedding is soft and can be taken out and washed. It is the perfect size carrier for my 10 lb. cat. I leave it out and open so she can get used to it. Bulkier version of their original bag. The bag we had was amazing, it had enough mesh to allow air flow and my dog could see out. This new version is bulkier than the original and has reinforcements inside that secure with velcro which my dog will get tangled in her hair. An absolute must have for short car rides. This carrier is soft and has a padded bottom, which provides comfort for your fur babies. It's easy to clean by wiping it out or simply removing the bottom pad and tossing it in the washer. I wouldn't suggest this for overnight or for long road trips as it doesn't have a stable surface where you can place food or water without it spilling all over your car.mary.g

This carrier was nearly five times the cost of my last one BUT though I hemmed and hawed about the price, I have no regrets having used it only once. It's wonderful that it has a sturdy frame. I bought a large even though we have a 1 year old kitten. She weighs about 7 lbs and the carrier is quite big. But I love that she has the extra space. The straps are super sturdy! I highly recommend this for anyone who travels often with their pet. It feels like it will hold up for a very long time. The day after we returned from our trip, our kitty slept in the carrier all day. She's taken very well to the carrier. One note is that while we did not get push back from any airline staff, the carrier barely squeaked under the window seat and did not fit under an aisle seat. I blame this on the airline (United). This review is coming from a crazy dog mom lol, and I've switched through over 3 bags in the past week to ensure the best of my little crazy Poochon. Purchased the famous Sherpa, the one from Wild One as well as another off brand and I have to say THIS one is the ONE. Teddy is decently sized and very long. He weighs exactly 16 pounds and has long legs as well. This bag is absolutely perfect. He loved it. It's very comfortable, the straps are comfortable and it's just quality material. I purchased the large size for him and he has enough space in there to roll around and even extra space to fit some of his favorite toys. I would give it 10 stars if I could. It's perfect.F.M.

I bought 3 of these carriers for my family’s move. Two 11-14lb cats and a 11lb chihuahua mix. The carriers were a great fit for each of the pets. Roomy enough to turn around in, small enough to fit under airplane seats (basic economy, Alaska). While I was acclimating the pets to the carriers, my two cats actually preferred to cuddle in one carrier (see picture). The handles are sturdy, which I like, but the rope design is quite bulky. The longer strap was at an odd length, at least for my height. It was difficult to find a comfortable way to carry my pet, for me and the pet, using the shoulder strap. I would have liked a longer strap. The construction of the carriers is great, the materials are nice and they held up well against three travel days. My chihuahua was able to chew a small hole in the mesh of the front panel, but she was very anxious on this trip and doing her best to escape the carrier. On that note, I really appreciated having the top panel opening as we were able to have it open after takeoff so my dog’s head could stick out and we could calm her. There is only one zipper on the front panel. I would have preferred two, as getting the cats in and zipped up before they squeezed out was quite the feat. The small pocket at the back of the carrier is a great feature. I was able to fit pet snacks and other items there for easy access at the airport. Overall, I do recommend these carriers. I have used cheaper carriers and their durability and security has always been lacking. On this trip, I felt reassured that my pets weren’t going to be able to escape, and that they were comfortable and secure. I’m happy I went with these.K.P.

My emotional support cat/ adventure buddy goes on all of our hiking and camping adventures with us. Currently living in Alaska but we do a lot of traveling. He claimed this bag as his own the moment I brought it out of the bag and set it on the floor. He sleeps in it like it’s his own little sleeping bag. And when it’s time for hikes I found that the attachment lead on the inside was still a little too long to keep him from jumping out so I tied a knot in it which solved the problem. He has plenty of room to sit and look out or lay down and hide from the wind when it’s chilly outside. When I don’t tie him down he has figured out how to turn around and stand on the back with his paws and head on my shoulder so he can watch where we are going, and if he doesn’t want to walk he will turn himself around and slide down into the bag, so if I don’t put the rods in place inside the bag I just reach around and hold the back open for him. I tend to keep the rods attached in the back for more stability against my back. I like to do weekend back packing trips and I wish there was some sort of attachment piece that could hold more supplies and clip to the carabiner attachments at the bottom. Over all I love this bag, I find it comfortable and easy to use, instructions for the rod use was attached to the tag. Wish they attached a little better then just those little loops but or like another reviewer said attach on the outside somehow. I did a similar mod so thought I would share what I did. I'm not crafty so it's a little messy, but it works perfectly. I cut a hole in the existing roll-down flap, then used hot glue and double-sided bias tape to attach it. If I were to do it again, I would hot glue the mesh directly to the inside and glue bias tape on the edges outside to give it a finished look. I tried to get a pic of her inside with the flap down but she's black and gray so you can't tell she's in it. I'll probably add a couple very small mesh cutouts at the top of the bag. Took about two hours since, again, I am not at all crafty so went slow because I was convinced I'd ruin it. It hasn't been long enough to know how well it holds up but my dog is pretty chill and it seems very sturdy. Happy modding!Nichol

I bought this almost 3 years ago and have used it so much abs it’s held up like new this entire time. My dog weighs around 13lbs and loves going for rides. Brian is 16, hiking is much slower these days but now he can be included because of this backpack. It’s so comfortable to wear, I have never had any back or shoulder pain from wearing this for hours in a day hiking. I feel confident he’s comfortable the entire hike in this. Would absolutely recommend buying this, worth the cost. I love that you can set the bag down and it holds up or you can lay down as well. Brian is a jack russell and can sit down perfectly fine without being smashed. If you are considering buying this but are hesitant because it is pricy, I’m telling you that you will not regret spending the money on this. great size for 2 guinea pigs.. have the smaller one too but as piggies were getting older bit of a squeeze for both at once I move them from indoors to roam free in the piggy playroom each day and back inside for the night, could even accommodate 3. like the fact it is solid base so they don't get spooked and top opening so they can't shoot out like they would ne able to with a side/front opening I didn't give it 5 stars for a couple of reasons. I wanted to love the Wild One pet carrier, aesthetically it looks so well designed. Unfortunately, in use, it’s just not as great as I wanted it to be. My dog is 11 lbs and I used this carrier for the first time on an international trip just 3 weeks ago. Using this pet carrier while connected to / on top of my suitcase before checking luggage was fine. Problems arose when using the pet carrier independently of other luggage. Due to the zipper along the top of the carrier, the shoulder strap is attached off center which tipped my dog either into or away from my body while carrying him. It would have been a lot easier if the strap kept the carrier centered so my dog didn’t easily sway / tip back and forth with every step. I live in a small apartment so I really liked that the carrier was collapsible for storage but it was also easily collapsible with my dog in it while traveling. The side zippers that hold the shape of the carrier easily unzipped and my dog nearly slid out on to the floor at the airport. The snap on the end of the zipper pull is just not enough to secure the zipper from unzipping, a carabiner or ring through the zipper pull may be more effective. This was point where I knew I had to write a review – I purchased this carrier to give me peace of mind that my beloved dog was contained and safe for travel but an unzipping compartment that my dog very nearly slid right out of is not easier nor safer. After TSA I ended up carrying my dog, carrying the pet carrier and carrying my carry on – my confidence that my dog was safe in the Wild One pet carrier was gone. Upon return from my trip I left the carrier with a luggage repair service to get some feedback about fixes to make this carrier safe and secure for my dog. The green color is so pretty and less likely to get dirty and not as boring as black. My pet is 7 pounds, she can’t stand up when the zipper is closed but lying down she still got a lot of space. The bag is super functional and the material is a bit stretchy like a wet suit material but super durable and great quality. I bought tons of carrier over the years including designer names like LV Prada. None would cover many features like this bag. It has zippers at every corner so you can assemble those in whatever way you want. You can leave the mash open or covered it with the inner liner. You can put The bag through your luggage handle, put your personal items in any of the pockets ( it has plenty pockets everywhere ) meet the only two carry on items standard for most airliners, so you don’t have to use the luggage claim area at all. This item came in in monogrammed shipping box with free gifts wrapped nicely like it’s from a luxury retailer. The only complaint I have are all the zippers, they can slip down when they are not pinned together, I wish there are less zippers as all I need is one side to be open. I suggest the seller to sell this on Amazon because there is no any other carriers like this one in the market, in terms of design,functionality and quality. trust me, I bought them all! One point I was going to design one myself. Please add A plastic pad/shield for the airplane floor, this bag will last much longer. And please have more color choices. I bought this carrier in December. Given the price, it was a significant investment and I expected to use the carrier for a long time. By May, my 11lb dog had figured out how to escape from the carrier. I saw a few other reviews stating this, and I assumed it was just a minor design flaw that they had fixed (because 2 of the zippers snap together). I was wrong- my dog manages to escape by bending the flimsy wiring on the carrier. I cannot even travel with him in it anymore, because now he knows he can escape. My previously silent, well-behaved and well-traveled dog works himself into a frenzy trying to escape from the carrier now that he knows he can. This had made my last times traveling with him a nightmare, and I can not use this carrier any longer. I contacted customer service about this and spoke to Katie. Rather than offering me any sort of compensation at all, they just told me my dog was smart and that was my problem. So now I'm out $125 and need to buy a new carrier. I would've thought that with this high price tag, it would be something I would use for a long time. Nope, just an overpriced piece of junk that a dog can render useless in a few months. Got this for a rescue cat who is at least 10 years old and only weighs a little over 3 lbs. She obviously belonged in a home at one time and is so affectionate. She loves to be held. But like most people I have lots to do around the house and can't sit around holding her all the time. Being she has lost so much muscle mass, she needs something that conforms to her without putting pressure on her body. This is the perfect carrier for her. It's like a mobile hammock. She can still snuggle next to me as I work about the house. Don't let her weight deter you. This carrier is definitely suitable for larger cats and small dogs. I have a 5.5 lb chihuahua who traveled in this carrier without issue. I love the fact that it is light and compact, with the color that matches his fur. It also fit easily on top of my luggage and was able to roll him on top before/after the flight. I was able to fit him, his favorite blanket, toy and water bottle for the flight. SIZING Although advertised as for pets up to 25lbs, I think this carrier is really more suited for dogs 10-12 lbs or under. My dog is 6lbs and there is a good amount of space for her to turn around and move, but I would imagine a dog larger than 12lbs would be a very snug fit. I have another dog who is 16lbs (with some fluff) and there is no way he would fit comfortably. See attached picture for size comparison. CONSTRUCTION This bag feels very well made. It is not flimsy like other soft-sided carriers and is more like a hybrid between soft + hard sided. If you press down on the bag, it will retain its structure. It is well ventilated and has two entry points for your pet: one large zippered opening in the front and another small zippered opening on the side. There is also a top “petting pocket” which I find handy to check in on my pup when we’re out and about. The hardware (zippers and buckles) seem very sturdy and are of metal construction. They have a dark gold finish to them which I think looks very modern. STORAGE There are two storage compartments on this bag. The first is a large storage pocket located on the small side of the bag. It contains a dedicated poop bag compartment + dispensing opening. The second is a smaller, zippered compartment on the back of the bag that is enough space for your phone, a few cards, and other small essentials. There is also a D-ring in the back to clip the included collapsible bowl + any other accessories you have. I attach her bowl and some hand sanitizer for easy access. FEATURES There is a trolley sleeve built-in on the back side (behind the zippered pocket) which is really handy for travel! The removable mat is semi water repellent, so if you catch a spill quick it is pretty easy to clean. It also folds in half and can be opened as additional lounging space for your pup. When not in use, it is secured via velcro and stays well put in the bag. This is a great feature if you have a dog that likes to dig before getting comfy like my dog. The built in leash clip is handy for keeping your pet contained. It is non-adjustable and has a length of approximately 12 inches. IMPROVEMENTS While overall a really great carrier, there are just a few minor things that I think would improve the product. There are currently no non-skid “feet” on the bottom of the bag. Adding in some feet would increase the safety and prevent your pet’s carrier from sliding around on hard surfaces. It would also help protect the bottom of the bag from damage as you are out and about traveling. To remedy this, I added some adhesive non-skid rubber feet originally meant for furniture. Works great! No sliding and I don’t worry about scratching up the bottom of the bag. The shoulder strap could also use some more padding. It works well for me for short trips, but after a while the weight can be a little taxing on my shoulder, and my dog is already on the lighter side. These minor details to me are not deal-breakers, but it is good to be aware before purchasing. CONCLUSION Overall, I would highly recommend this carrier to any pet parents, especially one looking for a modern, updated version of the classic travel carrier! It would be best for pets under 12 lbs and a great addition for traveling pets.Rena

This is a great travel carrier! It has plent of pockets all the way around so if you like taking your pet places you can put treats, waste bags, leashes, even your own wallet and cell phone for convenience. The fact that it has a large attachable, collapsible dish for food or water is very nice also. It has both shorter handles and a large, padded shoulder strap makes carrying it convenient and comfortable to go places. My larger dog likes the fold out side with the padded bed for laying on. The only issue I had is it says it fits pets up to 25 lbs, mine are all under 18 lbs and when it is completely closed it is a tight fit for my two larger dogs, 18 and 16 pounds but if I leave the top open they were more comfortable. It has a attached leash built inside to keep them from jumping out and is very sturdy so does not seem like it will come loose. Both ends and one whole side along with the top so easy to get my dogs in it.Angel

Our miniature schnauzer has never liked wearing anything other than her collar, so I was worried that she wouldn't like being strapped into a backpack. To help warm her up to it, we set it down on the floor, and put treats in random parts of the pack. We did that for about 24 hours before ever trying to get her inside it. When we finally did, she was a bit confused at first (after all, she thought it was just a treat dispenser!), but once I put it on and started rolling down the street on a bicycle with her, she absolutely loved it! She pretty much just sniffs at the air the whole time, much like when we drive in a car with the window down. She hardly ever squirms, so I think she feels comfortable. Now that she's had the bicycling experience, if I start to roll the bike without her, she cries with that "don't leave without me!" sound! Now that we've had the Knavigate for about a month, her disposition toward the pack is much like toward her harness – she still doesn't _love_ the process of putting it on, but she tolerates it because she knows she's going to love what's on the other side. Finn our 9yr old miniature schnauzer has arthritis so finds long mountain walks difficult. The K9 sports sack has meant that he can now join us on these walks and then rest when he needs it. He finds it comfortable, sits high enough that he can see everything and let’s me know when he’s rested enough to get back out and enjoy the rest of the walk. This backpack is just ideal for our pup. We used it before she could go outside and she loved it. We're now training her to use it to cycle. At first I wore it on my front while our puppy was really small and this works very well. For longer walks, it will clearly be more comfortable on my back but it's easily adjustable.
