I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. I abdolutely feel in love with this harness (by far the easiest to get onto my puppy). I love is so much that I jought 6 of them in the past 4 months. I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. These are my favorite harness for starting training. Measure carefully because it's a fine line between sizes, but it's a good, comfortable harness, with support at the dogs chest. I find those that are only web straps slide around too much and they scare me when the user isn't used to them. Once I received this harness I used it for about a week before leaving this review and I must say my dog has never enjoyed harnesses but she didn't seem to fuss with this one and she has in the past. I think the reason for that is it's very comfortable it's very light and I love to support that goes across the back and it handles the dog very well. Bought this harness to help my dog stop pulling on walks. It does help with the pulling, but it isnt like waving a magic wand and suddenly she walks perfectly. Its a good tool to use while training on walks though and I dont feel like shes going to hurt herself like when she would pull with the leash attached to her collar. Overall, the harness is good quality. No rips or tears have occurred. The only thing I would say thats a negative is the fact that the straps tend to shift looser over time. So you need to check before each walk that they are the proper tightness. I would also prefer four buckles rather than two. Sometimes it can be hard to get over my dogs head, so it would have been nice if it clipped together on the neck as well as the torso. I do love the little handle on the back of the harness. When we see another dog on our walks and they start barking, it tends to get my dog riled up. So its nice to be able to grab that handle and walk her along with more control. The reflective parts arent super reflective, but the orange harness is pretty bright orange so that does help with visibility. Id say if youre looking to try a harness for the first time, not knowing if youre dog will like wearing a harness, give this one a shot. I will upgrade to a more expensive harness eventually, but for now my dog and I are both happy with this one.stitchinwitchvtg
