we all love this raised bed. this is our second one, the first one we purchased several years ago and is holding up so well (it still looks new!). we take it outside during the day for our two fur-babies to sit on it and then move it all over the yard if they prefer sun versus shade. the second one will be for inside the house in our hu-man seating area so they feel like they have a seat that's just theirs. great design with the legs, they never collapse when they jump on it (and one of them often uses it for added height when they play)….unlike other raised bed designs that fold like a beach chair but then collapse when jumped on. easy to assemble.Stacia

I don't know how the assembly process could be improved as the bed surface needs to be under tension which is what makes the final assembly a little problematic. The biggest issue is around registering the product to take advantage of the guarantee. For Europe, you have to register on the Canada/USA site and of course the form is geared for zip codes not UK address formats. I ended up on a chat session with them and still have no confirmation of the registration of the purchase. I have another one in grey outside and its been fine through two summers and winters. Once put together its designed to stay together so i wouldn't say its a travel cot. I think did see a replacement mat available when i ordered this. I may go ahead and order the replacement mat portion for a few years down the road while its available because the cats love it so much it going to get a lot of wear. We purchased these from Cabela’s in the past, but they stopped selling them. Our boys love them! Our boys are 55lbs basset/dachshund and 110lbs redbone coonhound/lab. Unlike the other types of material, this doesn’t get dirty, stinky, and gross from boys eating and lounging outside. We just rinse them down occasionally and it’s like new again. I tried buying a different brand, but fabric ended up wearing and tearing. I also had to break bed down often to take off cover to bleach wash out the “dog” smell. Needed a second cot for 10 year old Gordon Setter, she had outgrown her original. I like that this one has the mesh base. It's a so-so PURCHASE for the price compared to the high-cost brands. The metal frame is light-weight and the canvas is medium-weight. The material sags slightly and my dogs are not flat when they lay on it. I purchased an extra large for a small/15 lbs and medium/40 lbs dog to share because they refuse separate anything and for space considerations. You'll need a large floor space, so you don't trip over frame corners in walk area. My dogs will not lay on it for extended time; they prefer the floor or their cheap dog pillows. I tried adding a soft, fluffy, over-sized blanket, but it didn't improve their use of the bed. The manufacturing quality of the bed is great! All parts were in perfect condition. That's a rare thing anymore, so I'd give them 5 stars on manufacturing. ASSEMBLY was a big pain. It took a lot of strategy to get the screws to drive in straight. DELIVERY was about 2 weeks using standard. The openings of the box were in bad shape upon delivery. Fortunately, the tape kept it from losing contents. This is a great bed for any pets. I used it on my dogs so they can lie elevated above the floor should they chose too. If you have a kenneled dog, this would be great for them. Gets them off the floor. Cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I have several other beds that are similar, but nowhere near as good a price as these. My sister saw mine and will be ordering some for her dogs. Really well made at a very good price. Very happy. Great concept, but not sturdy. Bottom started to rip in the middle from the weight of a medium sized 8 month old Australian Shepherd. Then he began to get himself tangled in the top, so that had to be removed and it was tearing at the seam. It seemed like he was too big for it. This is my 2nd bed. The first one succumbed to the weather after a couple of years. The fabric of the shade canopy ripped to shreds first, but we continued to use the bed for another summer until a heavy child tried to stand on it and his leg went through. As lightweight and easy to move the bed is, though, I didn’t expect it to last forever, and I purchased a new one as soon as the large size version was restocked. I can’t get my old severely arthritic and stubborn bulldog to use it, but she’s happy to stay inside when I work outside. Great concept, but not sturdy. Bottom started to rip in the middle from the weight of a medium sized 8 month old Australian Shepherd. Then he began to get himself tangled in the top, so that had to be removed and it was tearing at the seam. It seemed like he was too big for it. The cat had done well with it before I have ot to the dog that was kept outside. Shouldn't give it to a rambunctious puppy.Barbara G.
This is my 2nd bed. The first one succumbed to the weather after a couple of years. The fabric of the shade canopy ripped to shreds first, but we continued to use the bed for another summer until a heavy child tried to stand on it and his leg went through. As lightweight and easy to move the bed is, though, I didn’t expect it to last forever, and I purchased a new one as soon as the large size version was restocked. I can’t get my old severely arthritic and stubborn bulldog to use it, but she’s happy to stay inside when I work outside. My mama’s boy pug insists on being with me wherever I am, and he absolutely loves the bed and it helps him with the heat. I know he doesn’t really need this huge one, but I still have hopes that the much larger bulldog will try it sometime. I like the idea of this product but after reading the instructions I found this not to be what I was looking for. I like the bed idea which it’s nice the mats are interchangeable. However when putting in the water they recommend grapefruit to prevent bacteria. I’m not a fussy person so now I have to worry about bacteria in my dog bed. Also I thought the blue would be mesh and it’s like a hot water bottle. You add water and it stays cool. I think I’d rather like the idea of the of the regular bed that’s waterproof and bacteria proof.meghan.f
Ashland absolutely loves her cot and canopy as I’m writing this she’s laying outside in our yard on it right now it’s a sturdy little cot and the canopy keeps the sun off for a nice and cool! It’s our third one we purchased from K and H we live close to the ocean so get some pretty strong winds sometimes the canopy can get torn but by far this is the best cot and canopy we found we have tried a couple other ones and they don’t block the sun I just don’t hold up as well as this one! Highly recommend a little puppy loves!! You can add the canopy to this cot. We chose to not fill it with water we just use it the way it is we didn’t want to mess with cleaning still keeps Ashland cool. We also purchased the regular cot to swap out in the fall.Jillene P.
Just received my coolin pet cot which I ordered direct from K&H. My dog is a cockapoo with beautiful curly hair which is great but makes him hot until we get to the groomer. So this cot should really help. So far we're using it to teach him the "place" command, but as the summer hits we will use it as his regular bed. So far he has no problem lying on it, but since it is still cool where we live, we haven't yet added the water to the pad. Hopefully it will be his go-to place when he gets hot.
