I bought an xlge rectangle bed for my minipigs outdoor area. (They ate too much straw and became impacted, so options were the hard ground or nothing). The sow will look for any seam, scratch, zipper or nub to happily destroy anything. The bed held up so well that I bought a round one for indoors. From the minute I laid it in their little house, they’ve been on it! The velcro enclosure on the bottom of the beds are so tough that I can hardly separate it myself. Even though the round bed doesnt qualify as “chew proof”, it appears unlikely that she will destroy it. If you have a chewer dog, a chewer pig will see your dog’s level and raise it to new heights. I highly recommend these beds. Btw, I have had dogs all of my life and was reluctant to spend this much on a bed, being cynical of its toughness. Not anymore!Kathryn F.
After my chewer Bella (we jokingly call her “the shredder” in my house), chewed through her bed and a few carpets we knew we needed something more durable. I bought the large bed for her and she’s a medium-sized dog. She’s about 18 inches tall at the shoulder and 36 pounds for reference. She took to the bed immediately, and finds it very comfortable. It provides a little more support than other comfort beds on the market though, which is great. I love that you can remove and wash the cover. She has been doing her digging and initially tried chewing but you would never know—the bed hasn’t shown any signs of wear. The material looks great and is clearly a good quality. I can vacuum her fur off of it pretty well too. Lastly, it’s definitely heavier than other beds we’ve used, but still light enough to move around with ease. The tough, round, comfort dog bed was tough and round, and very well made. Comfort, however was lacking and the dogs refused to use it. The cover was hard and noisy. There was too much stuffing to be snuggled into. I sanded the cover to soften the fabric and removed a lot of the stuffing. I finally replaced the cover with a softer fabric. The dogs now love it. I would have returned it early on but it had dog hair on it by then from my trying to encourage the dogs to use it so it was unreturnable by your standards. We did not find that to be true and the instructions are not as clear as I believe they could be. It took my husband and myself well over an hour to get this bed right. Lining up the pieces and getting the connecters in tight was much more work than we anticipated. As far as how my dogs like it, one is still afraid of it after having it over a week and the other likes it pretty well. So the reaction to it was a bit mixed. To be fair, the dog who is afraid of it has a tendency to be a bit wimpy about things in general. The dog who likes it really doesn't sleep on it much, she just likes sitting on it to look out the window. The material is canvas like and I am not sure she finds it that comfortable to lay on, plus the middle kind of sinks down a bit and is not supportive. I got the K&H Pet Products – K&H Elevated Cozy Cot Pet Bed and I couldn't be happier. My dog always wants to sit next to me or on me. Now he is in his little bed and I xan pet him, comfortably from my chair while watching TV. This os a perfect bed for a smaller dog or cat. My dog in the pictute is around 24 lb miniature poodle, he fits fine. I wouldn't recommend it for a much bigger dog. The bed has two textures. The gray is a strong smooth fabric very strong like canvas or denim. The light gray is soft and padded. It open up like a folding chair but, it locks into place so its very safe. And it isnt super high so a small dog can get in and out on his own. The bottom feels rubberized for water proofing. This bed works well inside and outside. I am pleased with and will be using it. I have several beds for my dog throughout my apartment at least one in every room, so he can sleep comfortably. I like this bed a lot since its easy to move and looks easy to clean. As a fur baby mommy I always want them to be as comfortable as possible. During the winter months I don’t like that they have to lay on the floor. Well that’s all over now. We purchased these from Cabela’s in the past, but they stopped selling them. Our boys love them! Our boys are 55lbs basset/dachshund and 110lbs redbone coonhound/lab. Unlike the other types of material, this doesn’t get dirty, stinky, and gross from boys eating and lounging outside. We just rinse them down occasionally and it’s like new again. I tried buying a different brand, but fabric ended up wearing and tearing. I also had to break bed down often to take off cover to bleach wash out the “dog” smell. Needed a second cot for 10 year old Gordon Setter, she had outgrown her original. I like that this one has the mesh base. Helinox is an incredible brand. Their products really are the best engineered, highest quality products on the market. This is probably a 5 star item based on quality, but I was disappointed that the long poles don't break down, making this longer than any of my Helinox human cots, which makes packing a bit more complicated. I bought the elevated dog caught for our family dog because it gets extremely hot where we live and after a walk in the evening Roscoe is extremely hot and he’s desperately trying to find a way to cool down. So I purchased the cot in order for him to lay on it to have air flowing under him to cool. When I assembled it and put it in the family room, he immediately went and laid on it understanding that it was for him. It was humorous to see that he immediately personalized it by dragging his blankets onto it to give it his scent as well as him rolling around on it, once he figured out how to get comfortable on it it was nice to see that he used it regularly. It’s extremely well-made and the cot portion and durable aluminum legs are typical Helinox quality and I believe dog claws will have no effect on it. I also love that it can be taken apart easily and taken with you to go camping or other places where you need a way to elevate your dog to be off the hot ground or the cold ground. I ordered two beds for my dogs. The product came with some assembly needed however the small screws and bolts were too long for the tubing making the support beams unsteady. I added an extra bolt to make the support more stable. however, in under 30 days of purchase the bolts and screws are off of one bed and the material has been ripped.RDavis80470

Bought two of these beds for our beagles to sleep in our RV. Quality is great, and dogs have plenty of room in them to move around, stretch out, and get comfortable. (Bought size medium). Fabric seems to be very durable and will hopefully clean well when needed. Only complaint is the noise the fabric or material makes when the dogs move around. (Kind of loud and scratchy). Not a big deal during the day, but hopefully not too much noise at night when we want to sleep – since we are all in the RV together! May end up having to throw a soft blanket on top of bed to not hear the dogs claws scratching the fabric at night? Overall I’m very happy with my purchase. Even though we didn't end up keeping this bed, we had a wonderful experience ordering from (and returning to) K9 Ballistics. We had ordered this and it looked a bit small for my dog. We covered it with a blanket to protect it and he wasn't really able to fit inside comfortably. It was clearly a very high quality bed and no doubt it would have stood up to daily use for years. I hated to return it but it just wasn't a good fit. When we returned it there was an issue with UPS – the K9 ballistics representative was prompt on the chat, sent materials to my email and made sure I had them, and contacted shipping and receiving to ensure the return was received. Awesome bed. Bought this for my older dog (9-1/2) after we got rid of her doggie "bunk bed" because it was getting harder on her arthritis to go up and down the stairs. The orthopedic base sounded like it would be good for her. Although we have a second dog, her son (age 6), he often sleeps on our bed or on the couch so we didn't get one for him. Now, it's kind of like – whoever gets there first gets the bed for the night and the other one sleeps somewhere else. They both seem to like it and will sometimes rest in it during the middle of the day as well. It's very durable and a great quality bed. Looks like we'll be getting a second one so they can each have their own. (Gives me more space in my bed, so a win-win.)Nina F.
