I really like the idea behind this product. The concept is great and totally useful for Furbabies like our 7 month old Big and Restless Rescue Pup. Front seat to Back seat then Front seat to Back seat. She's all over the place like a jack rabbit and not only is it Super Annoying but can be Very Dangerous as well. Only concern i have is that it's quite short so it kinda of pulls her down and she can't sit pretty comfortably and HAS no choice but to lay down. The harness didn’t move on her. She wasn’t sure about being buckled in though. She’s use to laying down sleeping on car rides so I didn’t like that she couldn’t. I have a Mini Australian Shepherd puppy, and this harness is so good!! The way the leash attachment “floats” along the dorsal strap makes it work really well no matter where he is in relation to me (front/back/side), and it had really helped him learn not to pull, because unlike a collar it’s not actually unsafe for him to test his limits (so I dont have to try and keep him from doing it, just address when it happens). Good product, comfortable for dog, easy to adjust for size differences, holds up well for changing weather conditions and stress from use. I have purchased three harnesses in the last two years, all for the same dog as he grows. Only problem is where the harness crosses the dog's back and where it adjusts under the belly. When the harness is attached to a leash on the back clip, it slips and shifts until the back clip and leash attachment is hanging on the dog's side. And where the harness has two fixed adjustments near the dog's belly where the harness is held in place by snaps, the snaps aren't strong enough to stay closed when the dog moves, so the straps going through those loops shift and slip until the harness is out of adjustment. Together with the problem of the loose strap on the dog's back, for a large dog like I have, the harness is always twisted or loose unless I make some reinforcing stitches at those two key junctions. The first harness I purchased when the dog was smaller already had those two key junctions stitched and held in place. The next two harnesses needed to be stitched heavily by me in order to stay in place, which was difficult because the material is very tough and thick and isn't easily sewn by hand with a standard needle and thread. I don't know why the company stopped reinforcing those key junctions for the harnesses needed for large, strong dogs. Once the harness junctions are reinforced, the harness is good for a large dog being tethered or walked, and is easily put on and removed even if the dog doesn't hold still. I especially like the fact that the harness can be custom fit around both the neck and the chest, and from neck to back. That allows for long term use while the dog grows.
Purchased and selected size last year based on Kurgo size chart recommendation. Harness was way to large, at the smallest setting on our 56# Aussie. Also hooks/ slides on back of harness twist and turn, don't stay in place.. The adjustment slides don't stay in place in the front and the harness , after one pull is huge again. Quality materials but poor execution of design. Very expensive for what you get. And CS rep hanging up when I called spoke volumes. mes.Janesdog

I bought this for my 70 pound Doberman puppy. He's 5 months old. I bought a size large and it fits him very well. He is not very good at riding in the car. He wants to walk all over the place and sit on my lap while I'm driving. I was worried he was going to make me wreck. His carrier is just too big to put in my 4-runner. So, I searched high and low for a seat belt for him. This one fits the bill perfectly. The harness portion is a perfect size. It's not large and bulky. It's very simple and easy to put on him. I admit, I am terrible with putting harnesses on dogs. I always get the ropes tangled and am never sure what snaps into what. Well, this one is very easy to figure out. Once you get it positioned correctly for the individual fit of your dog, it goes on with ease. Then you snap it into the back seat seat belt. I probably need to shorten it a bit because he still climbs a little further toward the front console than I prefer but it's really ok. I like it so well that I ordered a second one for my other vehicle. Also, I like to use the harness with my leash and use it to walk him. He walks so well with it. I can not be happier with it. It is really good quality and is much nicer than others I have seen. I just like that it fits him so well without being over cumbersome and I can put it on with ease. This car harness is easy to get on and off of my dog and attach to/ detach from my SUV. It feels comfortable to me, and so far my dog has seemed perfectly at ease wearing it. I have a 6 month old Irish Wolfhound, so he still has a lot of growing to do. The harness is easy to adjust (both on and off him) and there seems to be enough room for when my dog is fully grown – though only time will tell! I do wish the tether was a little longer. This harness is a well padded nice harness but it has one serious flaw. The strap that goes across the chest continues on down and around the waist. My 31 lb Boykin Spaniel is a puller and he is out of it in no time flat. Two short trips around town resulted in him getting it off his chest and only around his middle the first trip to totally out of it the second trip. The strap material makes it super easy for it to slide when the dog pulls. I gave it 4 stars because the tether is absolutely the best. It might also work on other harnesses but my guy even got out of his Halti harness yesterday during a 3rd ride. I am going to purchase industrial strength Velcro and see if I can do something with the Bergan harness because the concept is good. It is a nice harness IF you don't have a puller. I fitted the harness to the dogs and can't imagine that they would be able to escape from this harness – I have had that happen with other harnesses. They feel very comfortable with the harness and it should be easy to hook them in the car. Trying to get the seat belt itself through other harnesses was a major project with two big dogs. I bought the small harness for my excitable 2 year old cockapoo. The product was very easy to put on him, and it appeared to make him feel more secure during the car journey. The only problem I have encountered is with regards to the removing of the harness over his head due to the neck size. A logistical approach is required by ensuring his ears are through before pulling the harness over his head. Otherwise, it is a good fit, and keeps him safe.Mitch
This is a really cute toy, and our 12-week-old puppy loved it! The problem is, however, that she was able to detach little hunks of the loofah material from the center of the starfish within just a few sessions. The label warns of this, so we watched and threw away the chunks . . . and ultimately the whole toy before she could swallow anything. Maybe a much younger puppy would do better? I purchased this for my sister in laws Westie. We are having to take her out in the car at the moment and wanted her to be safe and secure on the back seat.I measured the dog before purchase and although the chest area was a perfect size, her head would not go through the neck part, which is fixed. I'm giving this harness only three stars because I watched my cat lay on his side yesterday and pull one leg out of its hole. I'm certain that he'd have gotten the other leg out in short order if I hadn't caught him in the act (the harness fits him pretty snugly). Before I saw that – because it looks like a good design – I was convinced that he would NOT be able to wiggle out of it, but I was wrong. The hair, skin, and dirt particles get stuck in the inside of the harness. I tried to wash it several times and it doesn’t come out and not that clean. I don’t put it in the dryer still the outside is cracking a little! I brought it in April and I’m writing this review on July 31, 2021. I brought a XL and with all the negative I would still buy it again if I had to. I love the Durability that it gives me to be able to control my fur baby when he gets happy to see other people. I love this harness for our little Holly! I was so happy to find it in pink and polka dots, especially when I had been told my another retailer that it was only available in black (which I have for my boy). The only complaint is the grip clips (to hold strap adjustments looser or tighter) slip daily, but not enough to cause worry with the straps themselves slipping. Maybe those could be swapped with metal ones by the manufacturer. I highly recommend this beautiful, strong and sturdy harness for your little girl! This harness has helped my beagle puppy with both riding in the car and walking. The harness keeps her focused while on the walk and helps with controling her when she tries to run after birds. She's also much calmer in the car with the harness on. My puppy actually seems to enjoy have the harness on, unlike the gentle leader we tried before. I am really happy with the harness. I bought the small/medium. It is easy to put on my dog and it easily connects to the seat belt in the car and she is held securely. The tether, however, is too small. When she is in the car, she likes to lay down and the tether is too short and can't be adjusted to a long enough length.
This is actually a good harness for my dog it doesn't choke him and I have one control of him they're not that expensive for a good harness. Tried a S and M for my 29lb corgi who is in between sizes. M fits better on the smallest setting though not great for walking bc the chest strap is a bit wide but that’s okay. This is for car safety and we have another dedicated walking harness. This is great quality and I feel better knowing she’s safer. Bought a seat belt clip. She’s able to move around comfortably. I purchased the x-tra-large harness. It was very loose on my dog even though he has the right dimensions for that size. After spending an inordinate amount of time adjusting the straps we had a good fit. However, he very quickly, by wiggling around a bit, loosened the straps back up. I tightened them up again, only for them to become too loose. Once he even got out if the harness! While in the car! Not happy. My dog is a pitty and he weighs 75 lbs.Debra
Harness came quick and was easy to adjust. I would highly recommend it. Only 4 stars because of a couple minor issues. The first is when at its smallest adjustments, the extra strap hangs loose. Not a big deal but with my puppy, she can then grab it to chew on. The other thing is, the two rings to attach a leash to are too far apart. When clipping on a leash, it bunches the clasps together making it uncomfortable for the dog. I end up just using a separate collar but it would be nice if I didn't have to.Sandra R.
