Too big for my Doxie I used the chart and measured his chest and it showed he should be able to wear a medium, but it is too big. It's a great harness and well made, I will see if I can pass it on to someone else that can use it.lilacresfarm

My dog has a torn ACL. Shes 13yrs old and really needed the assistance. And this sling is really doing the job. I had bought a different one before this one that was just a thick band that went around her waist & had handles at the top but it just kind of slipped down even thougn it was her size when we were trying to help her get down the stairs. This one she felt so much more comfortable. & we could keep the vest on like a coat & just take on & off the straps highly reccommendbrandy1220112012

I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. My dog learned to step into the harness on her own if we hold it up for her, too. Very good quality materials that will last a long time.lianna.b

at the suggestion of my neighbor I bought this harness.Online store availability says it was available at the store. Went to this store they did not have the medium size (strike 1). I got small because the last harness I got at Petco last week in a medium was WAY TOOOO big. (which I am unable to return $35 gone). (strike 2 ) Even tho this one is advertised online for $14.99 at the store it was $21.99 and the team member did not know anything about it being lower online. (strike 3) same SKU number on receipt as listed in the online description. ( and unable to return this item as well.Store policy )My fault I should have taken my little buddy with to measure before buying.Now I've $57 un unusable harnesses. I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. It is a bit pricey for me, but I was able to get it on sale! Choke-free, soft and comfortable!mjp21

I just purchased this harness yesterday in a size Medium for my 16 lbs Beagle mix. It ripped completely in half after only having her wear it for 2 hours. It fit perfectly which is why I gave it 2 stars, but it should have lasted for more than 2 hours. Definitely not worth my money.Zoie Mom

This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. If your dog is well behaved and doesn’t pull you should be good to go.Goobys with tears

Purchased 2 of these, one 'used', one new. They were both in excellent condition & I prefer the 'used' as it is manufactured better using industrial Velcro to attach the underdog piece to upper harness. The newer model uses clips & does not fit as well. Still an excellent product.pntdldy

This thing really bailed me out and saved my back while my chocolate lab was recovering from a muscle tear. It gave just the right amount of support she needed for me to be able to assist her in getting around and particularly getting up stairs. It is also easy on and off so it's very convenient to use. My ONLY negative is that the description said dogs up to 90 pounds. My lab is a little hefty at 78 pounds and it BARELY fit around her. Another inch or two of diameter would have been ideal.sadie_clint

Love the product but the dog I purchased it for is too big to fit in it. I will save it in case my middle dog ever needs it. Please let me know if you ever find something that will fit bigger dogs, but made out of the exact same stuff so it is light weight and easy to pack up without taking up much space.tank

If you’ve ever tried to carry a German Shepherd for 800 yards, you’ll see why I really love the GingerLead! After trying another walking harness I bought from the US, I tried the ginger lead with great results. This product is really easy to use without any complicated straps etc. Loki was walking much better and its saved my back no end as I can walk him in an upright position.Nigel

This Voyager dog harness is great for my pup! I am training him to walk on a leash and this is so helpful so that I don’t pull on his neck. I got the size XXS for him as he was 4 lbs. He is now almost 8 lbs and it still fits him but I am going to buy another one in a bigger size so I can keep it until he is fully grown. They are adjustable so I will probably get size Small. I abdolutely feel in love with this harness (by far the easiest to get onto my puppy). I love is so much that I jought 6 of them in the past 4 months. Why did I need to buy so many one may ask…becauae that is how many the puppy chewed through in that period of time. I ended up switching brands after the 6th one. The ease of the new one does not compare but the duribilty was just not there for us on this particular harness. If you dont have a chewer it is highly recommendedMooncat84

My Dodo and I love this harness! He seems to be comfortable all day long no matter what we do? Only downside is we live in Las Vegas so on the very hot days I prefer him in a more breathable type of harness. Other than that I definitely recommend this harness. As any husky owner knows, they love pulling, and backing out of harnesses. Huskies put Houdini to shame with their amazing ability to escape from collars and harnesses. After trying a zillion harnesses for our 6th Siberian Husky, we stumbled upon the Goat Trail Tactical and threw our money down in hopeful anticipation. The buckles are amazing, and although the back plastic buckles are stiff to get on and off, that's EXACTLY what we need. The front metal buckles are secure and strong. The straps allow us to snug that harness up tight (not too tight, 2 fingers under) in all the right places to hold it secure without her strangling. The leash loop connectors are metal, securely sewn in and instill confidence that it would take a major catastrophe for them to pull out. Having the front connector allows us to connect a leash on the back and front, limiting her ability to drag us down the street like a sled. The rubber handle on the back… genius! Most harnesses have a flap of material that is difficult to grab, and cuts into your hand, twists, and is virtually worthless, but not the rubber handle on the SSGLex. Easy to grab, sturdy to hold, and perfectly positioned to get control when that suicidal squirrel darts in front of your very prey driven young husky. Getting on and off is a breeze with various ways to go about it: either shove the head through and snap the back up, or one leg through over the top snap neck and back in. Even with young husky totally freaking out because she knows the harness means GO TIME, it's quick and easy to buckle up. The little backpacks are cute, but until she gets out of her velociraptor stage of ripping things to shreds, we took them off, and also moved the included Goat Trail patch on the back. Love all the mollie loops and velcro for various and sundry things. We purchased a Medium because she has some more growing to do and it fits very nicely with plenty of room for adjustments later on. My only suggestions is to include the little strap loops for the back like there are on the front. She took to it well, and seems comfortable enough that she doesn't mind wearing it. She is NOT happy about the front leash restricting her ability to cripple us with her pulling, but she'll get over that. Finally a harness that gives us the confidence and security of knowing she won't back out of it and escape, we can walk her without being dragging down the street (the neighbors are somewhat disappointed that we found this solution and no longer gather on their porches each walk time for entertainment), and is comfortable to her as well. Job well done, I highly recommend this harness to all of my husky owning friends.P.B.

I wanted something more comfy and secure, with a no-pull front ring for my APBT. She’s 65lbs but pulls extremely hard when excited. We moved from a Kong brand harness that I trust with my life but this one is so much more comfy for us both. My concern were the two side clips being plastic which I’m not used to, but I haven’t had any problems, and it doesn’t feel loose after taking it off and on about 30 times. I bought their leash too and it has made walking a breeze as well. Doesn’t make the “bunny runs” as brutal for my shoulder. I’ve only used the front ring with my rope leash, and the no-pull leash with the back ring. Not sure which method is better but both have put me at ease. Worth the money for me.Taylor M.

Harness is top quality, heavy duty and very secure. A world of difference walking my 9 month old highly energetic 60 lb Australian/German Shepherd pup now. Still some training to do but the strong pulling quickly subsides on our walks now and when he does pull he doesn't have the leverage so he's still very manageable. Harness couldn't have come sooner as my boy literally pulled me off my feet a couple days before the harness arrived. Detachable backpack is very cool too. Will easily carry treats and waste bags with bungee strap on top perfect for a small water bottle. Will work great for long hikes up here in the mountains. I would definitely recommend getting the bungee leash as well. I ordered this a few days after the backpack and so glad I did. It also made a huge difference. It adds a certain amount of resistance where my dog quickly tires of pulling and also makes it much easier on both of us since there's no constant jerking motion. Highly Recommend!!!Rick M.

I have a Mini Australian Shepherd puppy, and this harness is so good!! The way the leash attachment “floats” along the dorsal strap makes it work really well no matter where he is in relation to me (front/back/side), and it had really helped him learn not to pull, because unlike a collar it’s not actually unsafe for him to test his limits (so I dont have to try and keep him from doing it, just address when it happens). Purchased and selected size last year based on Kurgo size chart recommendation. Harness was way to large, at the smallest setting on our 56# Aussie. Also hooks/ slides on back of harness twist and turn, don't stay in place.. The adjustment slides don't stay in place in the front and the harness , after one pull is huge again. Quality materials but poor execution of design. Very expensive for what you get. And CS rep hanging up when I called spoke volumes. mes.Janesdog

We have a labrador that's around 60lbs. LIfting him is difficult and he's skidish about being picked up on top of it. The harness is great for helping him up in the car. It seems very comfortable as he happily wore it around the house acting like he didn't even have it on. I'm actually looking forward to using it for the next trip to the vet because the handles seem like they would be great for holding him on the table as well. With him being a male dog I did appreciate that it had a built in shield for comfort to protect him while lifting. The harness was super easy to put on and fairly easy to adjust to the correct size as well. My border collie is 10 years old and suffers from hip issues; primarily when going up steps. In the past I've tried to help him by lifting his rear but he feels fearful when I do this. Now that I'm using the support harness, he loves my help! There's something about the harness that helps my dog to feel safely supported. I highly recommend this harness. I have an older 52 pound Belgian Shepard w/arthritis in her rear knee and spine. This harness is easy to put on, in my opinion, and she doesn't seem to mind the straps around her rear legs at all. I only use this for walks and when her rear legs have difficulty and she falls back I can easily grab the rear handle and hold her up, pull her up etc. This is extremely helpful going up stairs too. Firstly, I never leave my harnesses on my dogs because they will chew through them. I take them off as soon as I get done with their walks. My dog weighs over 100 pounds and is very hyper. She would pull and drag me every single time I walked her. The first time I walked her with this harness she instantly stopped pulling. She does start to when she gets excited but immediately stops once she feels the pressures from the harness. This has helped 100%!!! I did see some reviews that said the seams were weak, this product doesn’t feel like the strongest material, although it has held up fine with us, at the same time it is way cheaper than most harnesses that have the comfort design made to fit large dogs. I adopted a pitbull. His biggest problem and almost only problem now is that he pulls ANYTIME we're outside. On walks, taking him to potty, anything. I bought this harness for him, only used it on one walk and the next day i took him outside and it broke. Just wow! Purchased this in the L/XL for my Bully/Boxer baby boy Bruno (he's 2 1/2 and about 60lbs) and pulls me everywhere even with his Springer choker on. I hated using a buzzer, hated using a choker, hated using the prong choker and he still pulled me everywhere. We are taking our first Road Trip at 3am with our other furbaby Rosie (Chihuahua 6lbs and 6 years old). This product does not stop pulling instantly or at all. My dog is always pulling on her lead so I tried this to see if it would help. I tried it for the first time and my dog dragged me down the street and there was no way of stopping her or getting her to slow down. I had to switch to a different product in the middle of our walk to control her. I think this product only stops dogs that weigh enough for you to control their pulling. If your dog is heavy like mine (30kg) and you have 30kg pulling then unless you're strong enough to control the weight this product doesn't work.Ren

I really like the idea behind this product. The concept is great and totally useful for Furbabies like our 7 month old Big and Restless Rescue Pup. Front seat to Back seat then Front seat to Back seat. She's all over the place like a jack rabbit and not only is it Super Annoying but can be Very Dangerous as well. This Sherpa® Crash Tested Seatbelt Safety Harness is an awesome way of stopping that. Only concern i have is that it's quite short so it kinda of pulls her down and she can't sit pretty comfortably and HAS no choice but to lay down. Sherpa® Crash Tested Seatbelt Safety Harness, Black, Medium is very sturdy. I’ve never used one on my dog other than she’s home but when I go out she’s able to come with. The harness didn’t move on her. She wasn’t sure about being buckled in though. She’s use to laying down sleeping on car rides so I didn’t like that she couldn’t. She wanted to lay down and didn’t seem to like it. I’m sure she should get use to it. It’s a great safety feature on long car rides. The straps seem high quality. Didn’t dig into her skin. This is a good product. It is a really long harness so it bunches up in the middle when my dogs sit and when we are walking sometimes. The quality of the material is good and I do not feel like they are going to pull out of the harness. I do have an issue with the sizing chart. I got a large because that is what I normally have to get for my labs and then after the order looked at the chart. It showed that I should have gotten an XL at least. The large fits both of them fine and I have a 50 lbs and 80 lbs lab!Huntere

I picked this harness because it looked comfortable and tough, both highly important things when it comes to gear my dog wears. My dog is a husky/border collie mix and walking him with only a collar is unpleasant for both him and me. With this harness I have much better control with him, and he seems happy to wear it. What a fantastic harness! My 90 pound dood is a consummate outdoorspoodle and now he can pack his own water, snacks, and frisbee thanks to the bungee cord feature. The harness is wonderfully customizable. I have a Huge, deep chested giant pal who is wearing the 2-3X size. The straps are incredibly adjustable at the shoulder, neck, and across the girth to fit a wide variety of pup shapes. The material is extremely durable, seems to resist staining (I give it a quick rinse when my mudpuppy has really had fun), and most important, the harness is lightly padded for comfort. My pal literally jumps for joy when he sees it because he knows he's off on an adventure. I also love the bright yellow which pops at night when we are out exploring. The bungee cording is threaded though material that feels like the hook side of velcro. I plan to purchase the Backcountry X Petco Go Bag so we can carry even more fun along on our adventures.
