I’m giving this 2 stars because the packaging SUCKED big time. The instructions was not in the box so I had to look on YouTube to figure out how to open the cage and then after I received my answer the instructions was in the tray which is at the bottom covered by paper. It was the dumbest thing ever because you cannot access the instructions until you put the cage together which hello defeats the purpose. Horrible!!!! Hopefully this cage is durable because one of the entry handles doesn’t seem secure when locked.Colneshia
This crate was perfect for my dog when he was a puppy. It had 2 doors to make finding a space for it easy and convenient. It also folds up so it can be easily tucked away when not in use. We have a Great Dane that weighs 185lbs and he is quite lanky and tall, so finding something that accomodates him was not easy. This crate fits the bill. If I had to find a negative, it would be that he has to lay corner to corner in order to stretch out; but if he curls up, he is fine.This crate is going to take up ALOT OF ROOM! We knew when we ordered it that it was huge, but after it was set up, it was still a little shocking to see how much space it took up. If space is at a premium in your house, I would actually measure out how much room this crate will use before you order it, because I think you will be surprised!That being said, we are very pleased with it. It is exactly what we expected and is perfect for our Great Dane. It shipped to us within a week. Don't forget to purchase the crate tray, as they are sold separately and do not come with the crate. The only issue we had was that the front panel with the door the top clips are backwards so it doesn't hold the top like it should (you can't set anything on the top or it sags a little bit) so we just put a zip tie on it and it works great. I'm positive they would send us a new one if we requested it but it doesn't impair the structural integrity of the kennel so we didn't bother to ask. Other than that it is great and very sturdy Which we needed it to be cause our boy is a rough and tumble gentle giant with tons of puppy energy.morningstar2000

Why they sell them by the length of the crate when they need to fit across the width is beyond me but we had to get the 76 cm to get the right width for the 91 cm crate and it still didn't fit. Our 25 pound dog likes to jump on top of his crate. So this new crate is not up to that. He’s already broken it. Maybe this is not what the crate is designed for but still think it should last longer than a week. Not because we have so many dogs as there are only two teacup poodles in our home, we’re planing on breeding them in another year or so thus we’ll be in need of separate quarters. I use this in my office building for my French Bulldog, its a perfect size and the set I bought came with the little cushion that goes at the bottom. I just bought this kennel for my dog, it lasted 3 months. When it arrived I noticed right away that the quality was not as sturdy as our other kennels. The wires/ bars are thinner than what I would say is the norm. My other 2 are definitely thicker. This is already falling apart. 2 small bars are broken off and the bottom bar under the door detached from the frame leaving this basically useless and not safe for my dog anymore. There is no option for a replacement or discount to replace. Save your money and get a different brand.Sjm81
Cage came in a beat up box taped together, which could have been shipping company, but that's doubtful, read on. When we unpacked it appeared the cage had been used. The metal tray was bent on all 4 corners, we had to duct tape corners so it wouldn't cut our dog. The end side with door was so bent we had to get pliers and try to unbend just to get door to latch. It is still not flush. One of the bars on same door side was not even attached on one side, also had to duct tape that so it wouldn't poke into my dog. All the latches and where cage attaches together the metal was rubbed down to bare metal. I was in a jam and needed to use this so I have not contacted company but will NEVER buy from them again.Susan
I am a professional dog trainer who deals mainly with aggression problems in large breeds. Would I put a clients dog in this kennel…never…..it is not made for that purpose. It is rather flimsy, and noisy. However, it was just what I needed for my gigantic German Shepherd dog, as it provided the space he needed, and I knew he would never try to escape, fall over on it, collapsing the sides, or walk through the walls. Buy it only for crate trained animals, and dogs who will not test boundaries. It is not suitable for pups who are active. I just received this cage and the pan is broken, the bottom of the cage is bent. Wrote to the company as i want to return it and not sure i want a replacement ,it is really poorly made. I returned this because I didn't realize it had a metal tray and I thought it would rust and be chilly for a puppy we have coming. (It's winter time as I write this review.) Also I didn't find the handle that's mentioned. I would say the quality is medium by today's standards which let's face it are crappy. The gauge on this would be fine for a smaller dogs like Westies, Mini Schnauzers, Mini Poodles. The door hooks have a curve at the end which would make them secure. I did some research on the Variocage dog crate. I recall they crash tested it for all 3 types of crashes. It showed several of the straps breaking, and I thought that was a bad sign. I had very good assistance before purchasing regarding size — of my dogs and of my car–and ended up with a Large Double for two English Labradors. It's a good size for them and fits just perfectly in my Subaru Outback. I found the assembly not too difficult (the video on the website helps to supplement the paper instruction sheet). The dogs have plenty of room but the space is smaller than what they are used to, so I left it set up in the house for several days so they could practice going in and out. They both seem very comfortable riding in it, and I LOVE having them safely contained — especially when they are wet (and/or muddy) from swimming. I also like that it doesn't hinder visibility for driving very much – something I was worried about when I started looking at some other crates.Robin R.

One side flange of the rear lower panel was so far out of alignment that it had to be bent to fit. Other components required clamps to achieve alignment for bolts. If I had time to wait for replacement parts, I know that they would have been gladly provided. Since I was so far along with assembly, I decided to soldier on. A month ago we almost got T-boned by a driver who ran a stop sign. One of my 80-pound dogs went flying into the front seat. She was okay but it could have been devastating & it was a blessing that she wasn't injured. I decided not to test fate any more & to get some kind of barrier. The first one I tried was not strong enough. Kind of a sturdy nylon canvas thing with pockets that I thought might make a sort of sling, but it sat too low between the seats & I knew it wouldn't be tall enough or strong enough to restrain her. So I found the Zoo Keeper barrier & I have to say, it's really nice. It fits my Honda Civic hatchback just fine. The way it hangs off the headrests is great. It doesn't have to rest on the floor or on the folded-down back seats. The strength & sturdiness is kind of double-edged. There's absolutely no way my dog would get past this thing were I to slam on the brakes, but at the same time if she went flying against the bars it wouldn't feel great because those bars are hard. So I went to the hardware store & got some black 5/8-inch-thick foam pipe wrap for 1/2-inch pipe (basically a pool noodle that is split along one side) & cut it into sections so that each bar & bar section was covered. This cost around 5 bucks to do & now it's nice & cushy & wouldn't hurt an80-pound dog who crashed into it. I'm really happy with the whole project. I'm not worried about the dogs hurting themselves if anything makes them crash into it. In the pix the top two levels on the right & left sides didn't have to be taped – I slipped the foam noodle over the U-shaped bar attachments before attaching them to the main restraint. The rest of the pieces of foam had to be split first, so I taped them shut with black electrical tape. Clear packing tape works too. Now I really love this thing.deenibeeni49
