And boy was I wrong, it took her a total of about 10 minutes to figure out how to pick the locks and let herself out. I had to wrap a big steel chain with a pad lock on it to prevent it from being opened. For the price, save your money for a better kennel thats actually going to do the job as advertised. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice! When I received this crate, I was very impressed with it, I have a rescue JRT who is an escape artist. I placed him in the crate feeling certain that he would be contained while I was at work. In the time that I was gone, he literally destroyed the crate, ripping it to shreds, tore the doors off, etc. I do believe that this crate would be adequate for a dog who isn't quite so zealous about getting out. It seems sturdy and would be safe for car travel. Just won't work for a dog who is intent upon getting out. I bought it because of the description of it being a "steel" crate, but it is more of just a heavy hard plastic. Do not trust it to contain a zealous dog who is intent upon escape.

Very nice and easy to assemble. Unlike most of the other crates we have used, could only find one sharp edge which, of course, I cut myself on. Assembly directions were not accurate. Although using common sense allowed me to figure it out-EXCEPT for the door. Perfect for a 22 pound pooch hound with plenty of room. It's wood. But not so heavy. Which is easy to move if needed. I would make sure your friendly hound has been crate trained before going to this style. It took all of three seconds for my standard male jack jack Russell (1-1/2 yr old) to make this new crate his place to retire for the evening. I've had several people over and no one even notices it's a crate at all. Put and picture and a lamp on it and your all set! Measurements are accurate to the inside. Screw holes are pre started and very easy to assemble. Took me about 20+ minutes from opening the box to completion. I did use a small rubber door mat to line the bottom before I put in his bedding. Well worth it! Again. I would start my pup out in a standard wire crate for training purposes before using ANY style of wood crate. First a foremost, I was really upset that I had to shell out over a hundred bucks for a dog cage. But since we have a brute escape artist that kept destroying her old kennel and hurting herself during the process. With this kennel, it has stopped all escapes, no signs of giving or stress. She's made it her home even when she doesn't need to be there.it comes with removable caster wheels for easy relocation, or take them off and leave it stationary while cutting a few inches off the overall height,The door is easily removable and attaches back on in a matter of a few seconds. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice! This is well worth the money if you have a large dog you need to make sure is going to be contained. We bought several different brands in the past and it seemed like she would destroy them and be waiting for us to return home so she could hand us the pieces. Not so with this product. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Super easy to assemble. Large enough for my 130 pounds Great Pyrenees. (Before I get a response as to why I have a Great Pyrenees in this kennel.) The dog is a beautiful dog and I have had people try to steal her. If I leave her in the house she is smart enough to unlock and open doors to try and follow me. She does go to every store that will allow her, but there are times I have to shop for groceries and this is the brief time she is kenneled.
So we have a bit of a wild dog (she's still a pup), a total wrecker. But my God, she was so happy to have this cage as a home. She really likes it. It is definitely sturdy, so when your dog needs a timeout, you can put him/her in there and you don't have to worry about them breaking out. We added a bed as the base, with a plastic covering (kind of like a tarp) so the bed stays clean. So she is super comfy in there. We've been potty training her, so we were worried that she would go to the bathroom in there, but so far she has not, and the first thing she does when released from her home is to run up our hill to use the toilet (metaphorically of course!). Great investment.
I was super anxious about finding a new kennel for my German shepherd. He is an escape artist and I was scared about him trying to escape and getting injured on some cheap material. Knock on wood, he has not escaped since I got it. He actually likes going in the kennel when he doesn't even have to. I would just say switch out the metal rack for the actual flat surface tray. I would never have my dog on that type of rack alone and he tears up any beds I put in there. I wish all of the wheels were lockable but I ended up just taking them off because he can move it even with both wheels locked. Highly recommend so far and worth the money for his safety. Make sure the top is bolted when you tighten the bolts on the side though or it won't line up. Highly recommend for any 80 pound escape artist like mine

The only time a crate is detrimental to your dog is if your dog is terrified of it and you shove your dog in there frequently or if you lock your dog in there all the time, for hours on end as a punishment. When a crate is used responsibly, it is safe and the dogs like it. We adopted three rescue dogs and all of them are crate trained. They sleep in their crate at night. They go to their crate to take a nap when they feel like it. There is nothing wrong with having a safe space for your dog.
