The look of the harness is great however the material cannot stand up to chewing which is not covered under warranty. I am a woman with a small frame but fit. My boyfriend and I bought this for our trail runs and hikes with our German Shepard mix. We often travel through rattle snake country. Our dog is close to 90 pounds! For me it’s too much weight to carry for a long period but I still carry the Airlift with me so I have a tool to solicit help from others with. My boyfriend can carry our dog confidently over rough terrain and actually had to use the airlift a few months ago when our dog got a bad cactus thorn wedged in his paw! The Airlift worked well. My dog injured his paws while hiking a 14,000 ft peak. I’m so glad I bought an Airlift rescue sling. I was able to carry him safely back to the car. It was a lot of work but without the sling, there’s no way I would have been able to carry him. I would suggest buying the shoulder padding if you have a large dog. Extremely disappointed in the omission of pertinent information on this product. As an avid solo backpacker regularly playing in the Rockies with large dogs, it was due time to invest in a product that would help in an unfortunate emergency. I am grateful we tried this out beforehand to know it’s useless for my body. As a once female collegiate basketball player and consistent weightlifter, there is no way-even with adrenaline-I would be able to lift my dog from a kneeling position to then being on one knee to standing. I ordered a medium which was well within the weight limits of our puppers (60 lbs). Even with my spouse’s help, the lift wasn’t possible. Only males are featured on the available product images; however, I don’t know a female or male in our network that could make this lift for a larger dog. Additionally, the straps dig in to your shoulders (skin scraping) but it seems inconsiderate to charge an additional $25 for ONE shoulder pad rather than include the padding to help an owner in a distressing situation. Bought this for my pom Jacob. Needed a trachea friendly harness. Had the right measurements, it fit around his body but not his neck. He's a puppy mill rescue so he has a lot of fears. He didn't like it going over his head or how it constricted his shoulders. It even looked uncomfortable. However, I liked the one I got my Max so much, I got one in red for Jacob and that one was a hit! I wouldn't recommend this item for a fluffy dog but maybe on a short coated dog it would be ok.Christa G
I love the fact that this harness is very lightweight and easy to put on. My dog's neck measured 12 inches and his girth measured 20 inches, his weight is 22 pounds, so I bought the large. The harness fits very nicely. I also noticed that my dog is much more calmer when walking, and he does not pull like he did with his collar and leash. Very pleased with this product!

I had bought a different one before this one that was just a thick band that went around her waist & had handles at the top but it just kind of slipped down even thougn it was her size when we were trying to help her get down the stairs. This is a good product. It is a really long harness so it bunches up in the middle when my dogs sit and when we are walking sometimes. What a fantastic harness! My 90 pound dood is a consummate outdoorspoodle and now he can pack his own water, snacks, and frisbee thanks to the bungee cord feature. The harness is wonderfully customizable. I have a Huge, deep chested giant pal who is wearing the 2-3X size. The straps are incredibly adjustable at the shoulder, neck, and across the girth to fit a wide variety of pup shapes. The material is extremely durable, seems to resist staining (I give it a quick rinse when my mudpuppy has really had fun), and most important, the harness is lightly padded for comfort. It looks like a great dog halter. This is the third halter I ve gotten for my cairn terrier mix. This one looks like he might not be able to escape. Unfortunately, it is way too small for my dog. There is only one size smaller, and I expect it is too big, also. The receipt was illegible, and I have no idea how to send the halter back. I plan to donate it to the animal shelter. I am still looking for a halter he won t escape from.
Wrong size. Trying to exchange it. The sizes are not correct. They fit large.
The harness isn't working for me but I can't send it back. My dog is a male and the back strap rides directly over his, uh, spout. He soaked it pretty good the first time out so we have to keep it. But he didn't like it either – it is pretty heavy and made him overheat. Might work for winter but I have to figure out how to modify the back strap so he can pee free.
