Small Dog Hair Cuts For Sale (2024 Update)

I rarely, if ever, write a negative review–but I often check the lowest reviews on something I'm not sure about. So for those of you who want to know the worst possible aspect of a potential purchase, be forewarned: I've body clipped my horse for years running, I've always used Oster blades on Andis clippers. I figured this year, I'd go for the Andis blades, since the T-84 offers a decent width and hair length. I bought two of these blades because I like to switch them out when they get warm, rather than spraying and waiting to cool every time. I was working on a pristinely clean horse with fine TB hair. Not much of a winter coat. The blades were okay for his neck and shoulder… but they absolutely choked on his legs. From there–it just got worse. About 1/3 of the way through, as another reviewer said, the first blade was shot; just leaving horrible haggard lines in his coat. I switched to the second T-84 blade, because I had left my blades from last year at home (blades that were still sharp enough to clip with, just not brand new, so I didn't take the chance). Well. The second blade finished the clip… sort of. By the end of the job I was using muscle power to get the blade to perform an action that even moderately resembled cutting. His coat looked like he'd been sheared with a butter knife. Every year I've clipped him he glistens and gleams a lovely dark bay, so shiny that people have to ask if I even clipped him. This year he looks horrific. His coat is dull, uneven, there are track marks, and I had to switch back to a two year old #10 Oster blade that I used for day to day cleanup and use often to finish his legs because it was STILL sharper than the Andis blades. I feel bad for my horse, but in a month or so, he will start growing in his new coat, and this will all be in the past as a lesson learned. Never again.aallegre

This #2 blade works perfectly with the OSTER 76076-010 CLASSIC 76 hair clipper. It takes 2 seconds to insert and2 seconds only to remove and pack away. The functionality is PERFECT for the Burr cut aka #2 cut.There's NO NEED for the Oster 10 PC Guide Comb Set, either, if the Burr cut aka #2 cut. is what you want as it does NOT require any comb. I got this for my Cairn terriers as now that they are middle aged I felt it would be easier for n=both me and them, they can get a bit fed up with the hand stripping process. It is so well designed and comfortable to hold and my girls actually look forward to grooming time now. Would recommend.Tazz

Bought these clippers a year ago, and just bought replacement blades as a back up set should the current blades become dull during trace clipping this month. Used them last year for this purpose and all year for trims. They were easy to use, quiet, didn't get hot, stayed sharp and had very good battery life compared to my old cordless clippers. The black plastic guides used for longer hair aren't the most durable. During the process of changing guides (more difficult than I expected) the attached guide flew across the concrete barn isle and a tooth broke. Likely due to operator error, but the guide should be rugged enough to be dropped in a barn. After all, that is the intended place of use.Pico

The first time I got this blade it lasted for two years of body clipping a full-sized horse, and I was very happy with that, so I ordered the same blade again. I cannot guarantee that it is designed for full body clipping, but it worked for me. I am quite satisfied with it.Khorsegal14

So happy with these clippers, they cut so easily, have a fast charge and hold the charge great! They are light weight and perfect for body, face, and feet. I purchased these after reading many different reviews and research on professional clippers to use on my Shih Tzu. She previously had long show coat length hair, and now has Asian Fusion styled cut. Initially, I liked these clippers despite the less than robust power for thick bridle paths. However, they are perfect or were perfect for my Goldendoodle and horse whiskers. Used on cat. Started by setting clippers on floor and letting them run so cat got more used to noise. Did this several days. Then trimmed a little. Took three days to do back and sides (all I dare do) the first time. He was not so much scared of noise by then, but did not like vibration when touched. He got more used to it all as he was trimmed more and I did most of sides and back in one attempt the second time I trimmed him. Fur looked like child had taken scissors to it when I used the guide comb attachments, so finally used without those and looked smoother. I have a second cat I would not dare trim with these as he is very noise averse. Both are long-haired.Zexia

Cannot say my dog loves this tool yet but in time I think she will come to be OK with this which is great because I'm stunned at how much fur this got out and instantly vacuumed away. Also she looked really pretty afterwards. It's quite easy to use, my top tip would be don't be tempted to apply the tool without depressing the button for the brush because when you do that it creates a suction seal with the dogs skin and makes them jump a bit then give you an accusing look.smstride627

I have a german shepherd who is shedding relentlessly all year round, this tool has been a lifesaver! He is unphased by the vacuum so he will calmly lie down and let us brush him with no complaint, the amount of dog fur this tool collects is insane and well worth the money!13Steph

I've never used clippers before but I did pretty good on my yorkiedoodle. Had to stop a few times because the clippers heated up and didn't want to work. But I blame that on myself because I was so nervous and clipping slower than most people wouldmark

I ordered this clipper even though some reviews said it was noisy. The clippers I received are very quiet and my dog didn't mind them at all. They didn't overheat and were very easy to use. I am very pleased with them.Robert

The blade/clipper repair people recommended this brand over Wahl (which I had sent in for repair). The clipper is heavier than the Wahl but not a problem. It is easy to handle, fairly low noise (doesn't bother the horse) and clips hair easily (of course the blade is new). I like the adjustable blade (like the Wahl); find the attachments useless for clipping a horse.Fellsmere Filly

I was excited for this purchase. Unfortunately, I ended up being greatly disappointed. During the first use, two of the attachable blades broke. They are made of cheap, flimsy plastic and, apparently, break very easily. I went back to Andis to order new blades that were better quality, but they don?t exist. Instead, I?d have to order the same blades again and they didn?t offer to give me a deal! The clipper itself was also disappointing. It doesn?t cut any better (actually, it?s worse!) than the cheap $50 clipper I was using prior to this purchase. I was hoping to up my home grooming game, but I?m worse off and wasted good money!Amy

This is a great entry-level clipper/grooming kit. Has everything that you need for light-duty grooming, and then some. The metal comb and small head attachment for getting in smaller places (paws, elbows, etc.) are a nice addition. These clippers have multiple speed settings that are selected on the back-side of the unit and activated when pushing the button on the front (i.e., a "boost" to use as needed). Nice feature. I would not use any other blades except Oster Blades for grooming dogs as they are very sharp and stay sharp for very long periods of time. I groom dogs for some friends and find these blades fantastic. I wouldn't use any other brand.Wendy

We had the original Scruff-A-Luvs, and while they were fun, they still looked pretty scruffy when they were washed and groomed. The final result on these is better though! She came out so soft and fluffy in the end. I wasn't sure how messy the shaving part would be, so we decided to do it outside. My daughter had a blast shaving down her dog. All of the clippings go into a pillow case to make a cushion. Super cute idea! The material of the cushion is odd though. It looks like the wrong side of the fabric, like little fuzzy strings are coming off. At first I thought maybe it was inside out, as the inside felt more plush. But the seams would be exposed if flipped. My kids thought I was nuts though, and like it as-is. Okay, so all shaved, pillows stuffed, and on to bath time! She had a great time washing up her pup. We towel dried her and left her in the sun to air dry. A few hours later, we combed her fur, and she turned so soft and fluffy. My daughter likes the long hair on top, though the bow clip isn't tight enough to stay for long, and already got lost. The nail painting is cute, but doesn't stay long, especially if it's warm. Being in the 70s and sunny, we couldn't get the polish color to hold more than a few seconds. She still had fun trying though. Overall, she had a blast with it and loves her new pup.Jsmith

Right off the bat as I unboxed this my daughter declared "Dad that looks like my scruff a luff" (I didn't realise she already had another product from this brand) so yeah, this one got off to a great start. When my kids realised that we were going to give the pup a haircut and makeover they were fully involved, and I got to spend some time playing with them where they were actually entertained and attentive for a change hahaha. The toy quality is pretty decent, at first when I took it out of the box I felt that it was not much better than the average claw machine prize, but that's not true, part of the reveal process is to wash and dry / groom this cuddly and upon grabbing the wife's hairdryer the hair / fur actually fluffed up really soft (so soft in fact that my younger daughter who is 3 has taken to cosying the pup in bed at night). So the thing here is that it's a cuddly and surprise box in one, firstly you have to take the clippers and "shave" (scrape) off the excess hair (which at first i thought was a waste and it was all going in the bin, but cleverly it actually provides stuffing for the pillow case that's inside (the colour of which being one of the surprises), this then reveals which pup you get. Afterwards you wash and dry the pub and the box doubles up as a temporary salon environment for authenticity factor. Inside the cupboards there are lots of little accessories which are your surprises so hair clips, collar etc etc and a nail polish which when you fill it with ice cold water and paint the dogs toes reveals a colour and gives the kids the feeling that they are actually paining the nails (only without getting nail polish on the carpet and couch) hahaha. My girls are 7 and 3 and they had GREAT fun playing with this with me, and like I said it has doubled up as a night time cuddly for my 3 year old. It's a decent quality product and if your kids like cuddly toys and surprise boxes then this will be right up their street, the makeover element just adds a bit of extra depth to the toy and is quite a fun wee idea. 10/10 fun for any little one! My 3 year old had a blast from start to finish! Shaving the dog was fun although a bit messy (we saved it all in a bag to reuse for continued fun), then we got to follow up with a real bath for the pup which my toddler LOVED! Followed by a groom session with cute hair clip accessories! A fun simple way to occupy your toddler for at least a few hours! highly recommend we will definitely be getting another in the near future for more fun!sarahburl

Like so many other dog owners in lockdown we've been unable to get to the groomers with our Cockapoo, so being ever practical I took matters into my own hands and decided to groom our dog myself. I studied all the reviews of clippers and decided the cheaper budget models seemed to have some limitations whereas the Wahl were getting great reviews from professionals, so although the price is 3x the budget models I decided this would be the one to go for as I plan to continue grooming after lockdown is over. First impressions were "this is a good piece of kit" it feels and looks like a professional tool. Fitting and removing the blade is positive and easy. I also purchased the SS comb set which snap into place with precision. The motor is surprisingly quiet which was a key factor as our cockapoo hates being groomed. So everything was looking good but how about cutting her coat? I can say I was surprised at how easy it was to cut our dogs thick coat, I used a No. 4 comb at first incase I made a 'cock-apoo up' and the Wahl KM5 went through it like a hot knife through butter (but less messy) it was a bit more tricky on her knotted legs so a bit of scissor work was required there. Overall I am delighted with the KM5 and looking forward to the next cut (Peggy our cockapoo is still not100% sure and is reserving judgment). Its still a lot of cash for what it actually is and you need to use it to justify the price but comparing it to all the other pro models it sits in the right price band.ianwill22

These clippers are so perfect! I procrastinated for awhile in purchasing due to the price.. however after several very frustrating grooming sessions with my 3 dogs I finally requested to my husband for Christmas I wanted some really good clippers.. I did a lot of research and decided the Wahl KM10 2-speed Pro Clippers would be the one I wanted. I also purchased the clip-on Blade assortment so I would be able to change the length of the fur being trimmed. OMG! Total game changer! These clippers go thru my doggies hair like butter! Absolutely no regrets for this purchase! They make the whole grooming process for me and my dogs soooo much more enjoyable!Paula

First time grooming my collie/poodle cross and chose these clippers after reading the reviews. The No10 blade supplied cuts close and smooth (no tramlines). It cut very easy although you have to take care when cutting any matting. The trick is to hold the blade flat to the coat and not at an angle. I was very pleased with the result and dont think the end result was that far away from a professional dog groomers.weeandyo

I can't understand how they can sell this kit so inexpensively. The shaver is solid and quite. I have a decibel meter and it varied from 60 to 65 decibels, depending on where I held the meter. I've only trimmed my dog one time so far and it did an excellent job. Also all the attachments are quality items.stephehancharic-0
