Hello, I ordered this product for my cat who has had diarrhea for several months following a move to a new home and the stress of a now mobile toddler. The product took a very long time to arrive which is not a huge problem itself, but wish it would have been expressed clearly before ordering. After feeding my cat the 1/2 a pill he threw up about an hour later. I tried once more 8 hours later thinking maybe he just had a hair ball or something and he threw up again. I realize spending $50 on a product that may not work is a risk, and one that I was willing to take. In order to learn more about what happened and ask for advice, I shared my experience in an email to the team (email address I had used before to follow up on arrival date, so I know they received it). I do not understand why they have not replied and it seems they only care about selling their product versus having any interest in my experience with their product or about my cats health. Our German Shepherd dog was stricken with a life threatening systemic fungal infection. After a year of treatment she miraculously survived. My little Papillon, Dixie (1.9 yrs old) has had the typical small dog issues with her stools since she was a pup (who ever decided to breed a small breed dog with long butt hair wasn't really thinking "practical"! I like to compare it to a woman trying to go to the bathroom in a wedding dress!) and about 1 year ago she had a BAD bout of Pancreatitis that landed her in the Emergency Hospital for 6 days (a pretty penny- about $2700.00! Thank goodness for Pet Insurance!). This product has been a life saver for both Dixie and me! Ofcourse no over-the-counter medication is an equal replacement for veterinary care if your dog is ill, but this is a great product for every pet owner to have on hand! It's great for the occasional upset stomach and when your dog gets into the cat food, trash, etc. It's also been great with the history of Pancreatitis, if Dixie gets an upset stomach after my regular vet's office hours, it works almost immediately and it helps prevent the dangerous symptoms associated with moderate to severe diarreaha such as dehydration (it doesn't take many loose bowel movements for an 8lb. dog to get dangerously dehydrated), vomiting blood and bloody diarreaha from an irritated G.I. tract, etc,. This has helped by me time to get through the night without having to take Dixie back to the outrageously expensive Emergency Hospital and calms her symptoms until our regular vet opens. It's worth shelling out the few bucks to have this on hand rather than the costs of an emergency visit! It's some sort of Doggie-Murphy's-Law that your pet only gets sick at 2am… I call it Doggie- Immodium, it really does work great and my vet said it's great to have on hand and perfectly safe to give your pet. It says on the label (or somewhere in the advertisement) that your pet will love the taste and the review from "Snoozer" before mine said their dog liked it, but unfortunately I have them beat with "picky-dog factor" Dixie HATES it! The good thing is that because its a nice thick paste as long as I get it somewhere on her muzzle (she puts up a fight like you wouldn't believe- but that stems from being treated poorly and force-fed as a puppy, it's not the products fault) she does lick it off and gets enough medicine in her system to be effective! So overall, I highly recommend every dog and cat owner to have this in your home, even if your animal doesn't have a history of GI issues! Most people have Immodium or pepto in their medicine cabinets, shouldn't you do the same for your pet? PS- the cats LOVE the taste! They even lick the paper towel I wipe my hand off on after giving it! Reba, my Pomeranian (also a picky eater- just not as bad as Dixie) doesn't mind the taste and it's easier and more pleasant than shoving a pill down their throats!JennyluvsRebaandDixie

This is an excellent product with the best ingredients to heal (not just treat) intestinal lining problems. My girl has a bad case of IBS and was constantly crying and in horrible pain even after I put her on an organic home made diet. I bought the power version and for 3 weeks I mixed it in with her wet food as directed and did NOT do anything. Her 24×7 pain was excruciating for her and for me so I did not give up. After doing a lot of research, I realized that similar 'human' products for the same problems suppose to be given 30 minutes before meals. So, I diluted it in water and added a bit of sweat potato (for taste) and gave it to her, 30 minutes before her food, and IT WORKED! Like a miracle her pain was gone. For the first time after 3 months she was able to sleep peacefully. She is 11 lb so I give her 1/8 tsp of the powder and ¼ tsp of sweat potato (for taste) diluted in 1-2 tablespoons of water, 20 minutes before her meals, 3 times per day. I also give her probiotics, digestive enzymes, DGL(Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice), and Seacure (contains L-glutamine which repairs the mucosal lining) all mix with her food and I am happy to said she is no longer in any pain and on her way to full recovery! Just remember if you get the power version dilute it in water first (you don't have to do that with the liquid version) AND please give it 20 minutes BEFORE meals if your dog is in bad shape like mine.Loving pet owner

I occasionally add this to my 13-year-old cat's food, or even administer a few drops directly into his mouth, when he's having tummy troubles. He will sometimes have trouble with vomiting due to mild IBD, and once due to pancreatitis. Every time I've used this product it has stopped or greatly lessened his vomiting incidents. My Bichon has inflammatory bowel disease which has caused loose stools sometimes with blood. I tried changing her food, but she still had bouts of it. She has also been very uncomfortable a few times when she had an episode of it. Since I started giving her the Colon Rescue 2-3 times daily she has had only one or two short episodes of diarrhea. She is eating well and seems quite healthy. I also give her a probiotic daily and I think the Colon Rescue and the probiotic have really helped her heal. Our dog had to take some medicine after his teeth cleaning and it caused him to have diarrhea. We tried what the vet gave him but did not seem to do any good. We were planning a trip to Florida the next week. So we had to get something done for him. I looked up dog diarrhea and found this product. I also found that Tractor Supply carries it. Hi everyone….I needed something for a 4 month old kitten that had been sneaking my 8 year old cat's food and had loose stools. I had taken her to the vet for this twice, and was still having trouble so tried this pet pectillin, which sounded like a cat form of kaopectate. (she had taken a prescribed dose of Flagil and I tried pumpkin as well) The kitten was easy to dose so it must be mild flavored, but it never did alleviate the problem. She is now 6 months and still has a looser stool than I would prefer, but two vets were not concerned, so I assume it will normalize over time. She is healthy and drinks a lot of water. Perhaps it is not the Pet pectillin, but the cat….It maybe a great product, but did not work for my kitten at all.MickieD

After we tried a bottle successfully, I now keep Pet Pectillin on hand for my little dogs' sensitive stomachs. Nothing is wrong with them medically (cleared by vet, possibly stress) but someone may get soft stools occasionally and a few doses of this will help firm up the stools again. The dogs like the flavor and I can just pour a teaspoon over their food. With this product being safe for dogs and cats, I gave it to my cat when he had an upset tummy by mixing it in with his wet food. Seems like a pretty simple and gentle formula. I had been using a couple similar products (same ingredients) with my dog since he started having gastrointestinal issues a few months ago. He's been to the vet and placed on several medications, probiotics, stool-hardening "pastes", etc., all with limited to no success. I've been having to home cook his meals since this all started, and have only been able to mix in small amounts of GI commercial/prescription food before the GI issues return. For a month, I had been giving him Kaolin/Pectin with 1 of 3 meals a day, and this seemed to help his stools stay firm. Except for the days I didn't add it to a meal, there was no diarrhea. Anyway, the other products were both out-of-stock, so I figured I would try this. The ingredients were the same, so I was hoping for the same effect. Unfortunately, there were ZERO reviews posted, so I had limited information to go by. My dog has had diarrhea every single day since he started receiving this, even after adding it to all 3 meals a day! I stopped adding in commercial food thinking it would help. It did not. I've noticed this formula isn't quite as thick as the other formulas, so maybe the ratio of ingredients is slightly different? Regardless, I would not purchase this again, nor would I recommend it. And now this product is "out-of-stock", so I wouldn't be surprised if others complained or had issues at well. I wish the product that worked better (and is cheaper) were available again.amt82

I found and purchased this product through my holistic health practitioner. I recently adopted a 5-month-old Mastiff puppy that had been transported from another rescue. She's had most vaccinations and was also spayed prior to transport. She had hookworm (common), some thin hair patches and her skin smelled yeasty. Her second day with me, she developed a urinary infection which my vet treated with Clavamox and dewormer. She also would try to eat pebbles. She then picked up Giardia (oh joy) and treated with more dewormer. Her suture sight from the spay abscessed from infection and she began scratching and chewing herself more and her skin developed raised bumps like bug bites. My vet prescribed another oral antibiotic as well as an abx injection. He also prescribed prednisone to help the itching and KetoHex shampoo but warned that we'd need to consider mange if the problem persisted. She's responded well to the meds although I've been cringing at all of the toxins she's been exposed to and the abx stripping away her gut flora. I'm hoping this will help to combat some of the intestinal damage she's received and restore some good flora. I've used similar style dosing syringes and I like the ease of use and that the product is already in the syringe. I did have trouble initially with the plunger. The product was very thick (dense) near the opening. Since my pup liked the taste I just plunged the rest of her dose into her empty food bowl and she licked it right up. The product definitely was more liquidy (less dense) further back from the opening. I'm not sure if this presents a problem for equal distribution of ingredients. I'm crossing my fingers that this product will help quickly. I'm also starting Omega-3 oil for pets from Nordic Naturals and will try the Vetri-Science Vetri Repel Spray in the hope that the castor oil and lemongrass oil will help conquer the Demodex mites as well as the fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes that the label states.Rescue mom

I was recommended Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora by my vet and have had great results. Since then I grab it at Petsmart when needed. My pitbull has a very sensitive stomach and often has issues. Since using FortiFlora, most of his issues have been resolved. He loves the flavor. I believe it's beef and it's so easy to give it to him. You just sprinkle the packet on his food once a day and that's all. I've tried treat probiotics in the past and he wasn't a fan of the taste of them. First an introduction to Barnie the bichon… He’s 13 years young with one, heart failure and osteoarthritis. Bert is old and has a few gas issues. Well a lot of gas issues really and sharing a room with him is sometimes not so much fun. The Purina Pro Plan Forti Flora sachets have made a huge difference to his gut issues and his enjoyment of eating. There is now much less tummy grumbling and much less gas. The sachets are so easy to mix with his normal wet food and Bert enjoys eating it. He seems to have got his appetite back since adding the sachets to his food, and is enjoying the taste, and I also think the good smell is helping too. I have been giving it once a week. I would like to see some more instructions in the pack but other than that we are very happy. We use this product for our three German Shep Mix dogs. One is 14 months old and the other two are 8 months old. They had continuing issues with upset stomachs not eating or having runny stools. We started all three of them on this product just 13 days ago and all three have not thrown up since day two or had loose stools since about day three. We will be buying in large quantities as we have to give 14 month old 3 a day and 8 months olds each 2.5 a day. Found buy buying the 60 count bags on Amazon at $5.19 a bag we can buy 6 bags for $31.14 and have 360 chews so it will last all three dogs 45 days and is a much better price then any other place to purchase. I ordered a bottle of 160 from an online site back on 8/10 and they still have not been able to ship me the product as they have been on back-order as they do not order enough to full fill all orders they receive. I called this company directly and Roxanne helped me to find other online places that have plenty in stock. So thank you so much Roxanne.
