Kong Dog Treat Toy For Sale (2024 Update)

My dogs love these. Not going to lie, when I first purchased these, I didn’t really understand how they worked. I would fill with treats then feel disappointed when it only entertained my dogs 10 minutes. I have since adopted a hyperactive Labrador; while researching ways to calm him down, kongs kept coming up in the blogs. I watched some videos on how to use them for training purposes and have learned how to stuff them in a way that keeps my dogs entertained for a long time. I use a combination of kibble, canned dog food, and other healthy food options, layer it all in the Kong, then freeze. My dogs are stupid excited to see me pull these out of the freezer. I always buy a size larger than I think I need to ensure my dogs don’t choke or get their tongues stuck and that’s worked out great. Very happy with these, we have about 12 of them. Amazing! Amazing at entertainment for my dog. Love how we can stick big treats in there and keep him busy whenever we have to leave the house. I think it's a must for training your dog. Be sure to replace it whenever there is damage. As I know a friend's dog had a piece of Kong stuck in his intestine and had to get surgery to remove it. So best to keep the toy until you notice any wear or tear. I like how it has multiple sizes and has really good durability.. this is a really good investment for your dog! We have found many creative ways to entertain our husky/German shep/malamute mutt who has high energy and high affinity to treats. 10/10 would recommend. There's also some Kong specific treats you can find meant to fit into the toy to make it very difficult for the dog to remove it. We like that there is a lot of creative ways to use it. We had two on rotation for when our puppy was teething and needed a lot of attention. Frozen treats allowed for the pup to work on the kong. We use it at home mainly but we do bring it over to our friends house when our dog is staying the night because we are out of town. It's just another tool they can use if they find he needs to calm down and focus instead of rambunctious and playing.terri.n

My dogs had this for about a year. He’s a 22 lb Italian Greyhound mix who isn’t destructive (the pic attached is him 🥰). I included this information because I can’t vouch for the durability if you have a chewer. The material seems durable though. It does have a rubber smell that is kind of annoying and it takes a long time to go away. If you’re sensitive to smell you might want to avoid this. It seems to smell the most like rubber when you wash it. It’s easy to wash. I use a little bit of dish soap and hot water to wash it after every use. You don’t have to use the Kong spray in this. You can fill it up with whatever treat/food you want.simply.b

Super awesome teething toy for puppies. My older dog is obsessed with it now too and carries it everywhere. It has a nice size even for medium/large dogs. You can stick treats on the inside to keep anxious pups busy if you want. Highly recommend.kelly.s

I really like this toy for pups who love and are strong chewers. It keeps them entertained for hours. I like how in the inside of the tire ring, you can place treat inside so it can give your pup something to do when you are busy or it is time for settle time. The only thing I would say is to be vigilant when playing with this tire because your pup's bottom jaw can get stuck if you get one too small for their muzzle. Other than that, great product!norma.m

Got this to entertain my 16 week old Border Collie puppy when I leave the house. He loved it but destroyed it within about 3 days. Broke through the canvas and got the stuffing out. Just not durable enough for the price! Also a bit of a design flaw that food gets stuck in the smaller pockets and with excessive saliva becomes total mush. Would not recommend.Jess

Our Bernese Mountain Dog loved this toy a little bit too much and chewed through the back end within a day of purchase. Our less "enthusiastic" dog enjoyed the puzzle immensely up until this point. Would only recommend for light chewing animals.Teak

It is hard to find toys to entertain my light chewer but this is his absolute favourite. It has also continued to hold up to repeated use though the velcro needs a deep clean to get out the dog hair to maintain the stick every now and then. I wouldn't recommend for very strong chewers, but those of us with light chewers can often be overlooked in the dog toy department. I put a few treats in the ball when my pup needs to be distracted or has extra energy he can chew out. It's easy to fill and so far, he hasn't broken it, no matter how hard he chews. And we can throw it for him.CathyP123

I’m sorry but I would not recommend this. Within about 3 hours of my dogs eating this stuff’n they got sick. I have two black labs and we love the Kong toys. I had always put peanut butter or other things in the toy until I tried this. I put it in the toy, they played and within 3 hours BOTH of my babies were sick. I could hear their stomachs rumbling and they had horrible diarrhea. They both looked so pitiful. It passed in about 1.5-2 hours but I was so upset I had given them something that made them so sick. Since this incident I’ve seen multiple reviews saying the same thing. I would NOT recommend. It’s just not worth the risk!elizabeth.f

Looking for a treat dispensing toy for my Jack Russell that wouldn't instantly be destroyed by one of the other dogs in the house, the material is the hard rubber material that the other main Kong toys are made out of instead of easily chewed plastic which was exactly what I was looking for. my dog loves it and so far hasn't chewed it apart so great buy, brilliant for use when i'm busy round the house or just chilling out, keeps him entertained for ages rolling it for the treats and chewing the outside to help clean his teeth. Definitely would recommend. For sizing the medium was perfect for my Jack Russell for any dog slightly bigger than him I would recommend getting the large.brontdartnel_0

I cannot rave about this brush ENOUGH! I have a Pug, so as any pug owner can tell you, THEY SHED, and they shed like a big dog would. This brush is incredible for any short haired doggy. When you use it, brush in a circular motion and you can just watch all the loose hairs come up. I was shocked the first time I used this because the amount of hair that it picks up and takes off is nuts. I had been using a regular brush at first for short haired dogs, now I combine the two. I start off with this to loosen the hair, and follow with the regular brush to pick up anything that comes off. This is a miracle brush. It helps to reduce the amount of shedding as well, anakansha.m

OK, I have been humbled. I see you did post my review I wrote last week, where I gave this item only two stars. Well, my dog kept bringing it to me, so I did put in some snacks. They did have to be bigger, so they wouldn't fall out of the big hole all at once. My dog had so much fun with the holder and we use this every morning at 10:30, which is her "treat" time. I have changed this to 4 stars, please delete my last review, if possible. My dog taught me a good lesson…don't make quick decisions, you may have to eat crow.Teri

If you have a small breed, this is the Kong to get. It is a little softer than the regular Kong, so it makes it easier for a small breed to get to the yummies. We have a 12 lb. chihuahua mix and she would give up with the red Kong but this one keeps her occupied – frozen apple with some peanut butter or frozen green beans with a little peanut butter – a "pupsicle" that keeps her occupied doing a natural dog behavior.Walktadawg

So my French Bulldog really loves his large Kong pacifier treat dispenser. And you don't even have to put treats in it for him to carry it around. It's very durable considering that usually he is able to tear up any kind of toys with in about a minute or less. Got got it from PetSmart for about seven or eight $10 somewhere in between that. Usually he'll carry all his toys outside or try to but this one he purposefully leaves in side so that way he doesn't lose it. And he looks so adorable whenever he actually has it in the correct way. Great teething stick, if your pup is less than 10 lbs. The only option I had when I went to order this was \'small\', what an understatement. I had anticipated it being only for my puppy\'s teething stage and the item not being very large- but its about as long as my middle finger. Given all of that, it IS super soft and seems very durable.Clementine

King toys seem to be the most durable and therefore last longer but puppy teeth still chewed up the ends of this toy making it unsafe to continue using. A great toy for older pups who have lost their super sharp baby teeth.Gay

My German Shorthaired Pointer and Rottweiler (both puppies) loved this toy! Sadly it only lasted two hours before it was dismembered and the pieces scattered everywhere. I still find tiny bits of red rubber in weird places.Christina

We thought this toy would be really fun for our labs and a great way to entertain them. The older one doesn't care for it. Our younger one keeps getting her jaw stuck in the teeth of the toy trying to get any treats we put in, and then it slices up her bottom jaw. We've had to stop using it for food dispensing and only for playing with.ESho

I got this for Boomer, a dog I work with in my rescue, he is such a character and he loves balls! I take a lot of photos of him and knew one day it would turn the right way and be funny ?? We all laughed so hard and he had no idea what was so funny. I wish the ball was a bit more durable b/c he's a hard chewer but we had our fun.Nicole

These balls are well made and very durable and last even the roughest of pups. They are a little on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. I would love to see it in smaller sizes for smaller dogs but I would definitely consider purchasing morekaidence.m

I ordered these for my rescue pup for when we leave the house. They're great! She is very attached to me so giving her one of these kongs with peanut butter in her kennel right before we leave works perfectly! They material is very durable! My pup likes to chew on rubber toys and has chewed pieces off many of the ones she has. However, she has not been able to chew anything off of these kongs!kimberley.w

Kong dog toys make great dog chews with added fun! Some dogs love to chew and will chew things just for something to do and having a kong toy on hand to occupy them is a good idea. You can add peanut butter inside the Kong and it will keep them busy trying to get the treat out of it. It provides hours of fun and the dogs don't ever get sick of playing with it and chewing on it. They are made of super durable rubber. They are pretty close to indestructible. They withstand hours and hours of rough play without falling apart and puppies sharp teeth are no match for Kong. I used to buy nylabones but my dogs seem to use the Kong a lot more. I know with my dogs they love anything new they get for a little while and then they kind of get sick of it and stop playing with it. The Kong has really kept My dogs intrest and I think it's because of the added treat inside. My border collie thinks that she was put on this earth to destroy any and everything in get path. She has destroyed many a door and window from her incessant chewing and most toys hold no interest with her but even she loves Kong toys. I don't know about the breath freshening but I can say that the kongs must clean there teeth because of the rubber dragging across the teeth so much as they chew and lick. Its a long lasting toy that will definitely provide lots of fun. They are available at most pet care supply stores. They are a bit expensive, but it's worth it for how long lasting they are. They are a much safer alternative to rawhides or bones. No worry about them choking or swallowing none splinters. Check the Kong for damages before use and it's pretty safe. I think most dogs will love it and it should clean the teeth if they chew on it. I would recommend it to dogs who are energetic or dogs who love to chew. It works great for my dog who looses interest very quickly in toys so if and when she wears hers out I will definitely go out and purchase another for her.lindsey4488

Every dog loves this. Seriously. Fill them with peanut butter and treats – bam, a yummy toy. Throw it around the house so it bounces around and hits everything – bam, a destructive toy. I bought this a day ago. Loaded it with treats and watched my little pup walk it through the living room. Watched little trails of red plastic litter the floor within the first five minutes. My little pup is not a chewer. I have never seen a Kong toy disintegrate ever, never mind crumble like this. You can watch like a hawk… this gyro dog toy will not last 15 minutes.jackinbox

My dogs LOVE this more than any kong toy. They just need to update it to be a sturdy material like the other kong items. It lasted 2-3 months but eventually the dogs tore it to shreds. Literally shreds. I would still re buy it though due to how many hours use we got out of it. But I would rather spend a little more for a better version of this that is just not as prone to being torn up (as other reviewers mentioned and posted pics of, this is eventually what happened to ours, too). I filled with some dog food mixed with some soft training sized treats to really get their attention. Wouldn’t put peanut butter or anything like that in this. Would use it more as a feeder toy with dry or soft treats or food. Not wet though as the hole would be too small for the dogs to be able to get anything like that out. The weighted feeder ball is a great, indestructible similar option to this if you’re needing something to keep them busy for a longer period, it doesn’t break or get torn up, and can be used to feed a full meal as capacity is much bigger. With almost every king toy I always buy up 2 sizes. There’s a lot of reasons but especially due to the smaller ones being easily torn apart. My dogs just prefer the bigger ones anyway. PLEASE NOTE: it’s important to always remove any toys, feeders, bones, or bowls of food if the pup isn’t currently eating, or playing with the item. They’ll learn bad behavior like grazing, guarding, etc. and it can make it very hard for owners to notice when pets are unwell. (Google for more info). Water is the only thing they should have 24/7 access to without restriction. Hope this helps!Momzymo

This arrived on Friday and by Friday night after my 7 month old Jack Russell Puppy had used it one with kibble in it, it was unsafe. She started to chew little pieces off it and we have had to take it off her. I thought that being a Kong product it would be durable but it wasn't. She did not have it as a toy. it was just used for her kibble to keep her busy while we were eating.JUDY

I am super happy with this toy. My cocker spaniel loves squeaky toys but always destroys the squeaker part within 5 minutes. She has had this toy for nearly a month and it is all still in one piece! The Squeaker is hidden under the fabric so she can't get her teeth in it, and we haven't had any issue with her pulling the fluff off like others have mentioned. We are very happy to have found this toy, it is her new favourite 🙂Zoe

Took less than 10 minutes for my dog to pull the yellow covering off. When I called Kong, they told me, "It's not a chew toy." What, they think dogs hold toys in their paws to play? Beware, most Kong toys are now labelled "Not a chew toy" which means they are not guaranteed against your dog damaging them with his mouth. The "Kong" name means nothing in terms of quality or guarantee anymore. They sent me coupons for what they said the value of the toy was, which was not nearly what the store charged, when we went to use them, we were told that they were not actual coupons, we had to buy the toy, submit the receipt and the "coupons" in to Kong, who would then mail us a rebate. Seriously??? Not going to spend any of my money on a Kong product again. There are plenty of others of real quality.NoMoreKong
