This is better than pricey vet shampoo! I say this because our 3 year old lab mix is sensitive to the season changes and with that being said he has quite a few hotspots throughout the year. We went to the vet the very first time it happened and received some allergy meds. Now they did work in the long run (we had to give them to him for about two weeks) but it didn’t necessarily help his skin—the itching, scratching, and biting. We have had Vetoquinol medicated shampoo in the past but it’s so expensive, anywhere from $25-$35 a bottle. So I did some research on medicated shampoos and came across this one. I was skeptic because it is on the cheaper end and you know how that sometimes goes haha. Needless to say I’ve never actually had a product cost less than half the price and do what a name brand does. It cleared up his skin in a few days (using it twice a week) until the spots were gone although he did get relief the very first time we bathed him in it; which is such a wonderful thing to witness when your dog is visibly struggling. Just please don’t stop making this product and carrying it Walmart!!! We depend on it!!! So sorry I don’t have before and after photos for you to see for yourself but just buy it, you will not be disappointed plus it will save you SO much money.
My dog has been having such problems with his skin, super itchy and has always been very sensitive. I bout this for my dog today. Here’s a backstory of the problem. So my dog had his last bath earlier this month, he was itching and scratching and even flaking! And had a kind of fungal smell to him. Got a tip from a Petco groomer to use this product (Espree tea tree and aloe) for my wheaten terrier who has lots of allergies and itchy skin. She recommended it over oatmeal shampoos – which I thought were appropriate but apparently are drying and can contribute to the itch. She was right, this shampoo is great, doesn't make him itch, stops the itching, and helps to calm his skin when red and irritated. It isn't going to fix a bad problem since it isn't medicated, but it certainly helps with the more minor irritations. Plus, it lathers nicely and removes the greasy build-up that he gets during a flare, and it smells really fresh and rinses nicely. I also use the same brand/type in conditioner as well in the winter. If you have a small breed dog, be careful! These bites are large; my Shih Tzu can't chew them whole; I have to cut them into smaller pieces so she can take them. So, if you have a small puppy, make sure you cut the bites into small pieces and give them to your dog. Overall the results are good, and you should try this product at least once.

I have used Happy Jack 40+ years but after moving off the farm 15 years ago forgot all about it and began using holistic medications, etc. Well, I do rescue and got a little jack russell with 70% of her body scarlet, oozie red, infected red ears, thick red, hairless legs, tail, chest and face. She had been ill for so long her skin was very thick and discolored. I spent hundred of dollars for 4 months without results then ran across Happy Jack again in the Tractor Supply. I bought mange medicine instead of the dip I had used before and, within 32 (I counted them) hours, her itching has stopped, her skin is now pink not red and her little swollen paws and now a normal size. I will continue to use according to the directions to make sure this is gone but might switch to the dip to treat her in 30 day cycles. My dog was scratching constantly causing hot spots an scratches that bled a little not to mention she had this smell that's was offensive. I tried other products and then I heard of this one from a friend, bought it and brought home and put it in a spray bottle to evenly spray her entire body (except in her ears, eyes, mouth or sanitary areas) and to my surprise I Seen instant relief for her and she was able to sleep peacefully and so was I. Would I recommend this product ? Yes, yes I would.. FYI.. You might want to buy a few bottles because you'll have to make sure your pet is wet and massage it into their skin (use gloves) might want to cover areas where your offer lays until your pet is dry. Leave on your pet for 3 days… You'll notice flakes (scabs) that's normal, wash your pet.. Let them dry completely and repeat the happy Jack mange medication. You'll start to notice the hair growing back. You'll be happy and your pet will be happy an you will have saved alot of $ then you would had you went to a vet. I bought all mange treatments from happy jack… I have a white pit with enlarged paw found out it was NOT yeast like the lying vet said it was…..another vet told me it was cancer? only after years of bull! money sucking vet visits! to find out it was mange attacking the animals for YEARS ! I received the chews and immediately gave my puppy 2 of them. She really liked them, she itches. most of the time. But the vet says she needs some type of injection to stop it completely. I don't like to give my puppy any shots but her yearly Injection for rabies. After a week of giving her 2 chews per day as per the instructions I've noticed a big reduction in the amount of her itching. She likes to eat them so apparently they must taste pretty good. We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. We also have him the salmon treats daily. I believe this product helped him regain his health. His color came back and all the scales and itching were gone. So I bought another. My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. However, currently I greatly regret purchasing two of the tins instead of the smaller sticks. All in all, this product works and I would buy it again!
