I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. So I have a little 6 lb Pomeranian that has mild separation anxiety. I gave her half of a pill everyday before I left for work. They weren't exactly miracle pills, but they did help calm her down a little bit, hence the two star rating. However, after about two weeks, I noticed that her fur began to fall out. I checked the pills and their reviews but found nothing about fur loss being a side effect, so I just assumed it was something else. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. Have had pain, aches and muscle inflammation for years particularly on my left knee, ankle and foot; to make matters worse about a year ago the Dr. diagnosed me with an osteoarthritic knee; before that time and since have used many products and devices (non-prescription) seeking to alleviate pain and inflammation. My male cockapoo had started scratching and biting at his skin about a few months ago , it got so bad to the point where he wouldn’t stop until his skin was completely raw and bleeding and we had to keep a cone on him at all times. We tried using anti itch shampoo, hot spot treatments and none of those had worked so we decided to give this one last thing a chance before taking him to the vet as those treatments can be very expensive and we wanted to see if it was something that we could have treated ourselves first. I called to get some information on it's use, I used the phone number to speak person to person with a "team member" about my and my Vets concern's about it's use. My frenchie has bad allergies and his face is always wet causing his wrinkles to become prone to infection his face would start bleeding in spots from how severe it was getting. I would use other products and they wouldnt really help.. but this stuff really works! His face looks soooo much better and has improved dramatically. This product clarifies your sinuses- among other things! I actually LOVED this tea tree oil. I used it as a hair/scalp oil about once a week. I grew to adore the tingles from the oil and my hair was shiny and thriving. I went through a number of bottles with this routine. I did eventually stop. I cannot tell you why because I do not remember. I ran out of product and for whatever reason did not buy more. That said, I do recommend it. It is a great scalp treatment, which is my experience with it; I know others who use it for acne treatments; it is a fabulous beard oil; there are 100s more uses for the oil! It does of course smell strongly – especially in this form where it is not diluted by any other scent, but I found it refreshing and delightful. Still, be advised if scent bothers you.
I always try to have some tea tree oil around since it has so many uses. This particular one is of excellent quality! I use it on skin for blemishes, rashes, bug bites?I also use it in humidifiers during the winter to keep the water clean. I recently discovered another amazing use for it! I received a bunch of fresh cut roses for my birthday and used a few drops of tea tree oil in the water after running out of the plant food that was included with them. To my astonishment, the roses started growing new baby leaves along their stems! I think the tea tree oil created a very clean and nourishing environment for them by inhibiting bacterial and fungal growth! I trimmed the rose stems and have now planted them in soil using rooting compound. I plan on planting them in my garden this coming spring. I have a 2 yr. old Maltese dog. This product is helpful, but you need to let it stay on for a few minutes before you rinse it off, and I don't have the patients. I ordered this and was sent a different product with a different label from the one shown. As it turns out the ingredient ichthammol 20% reads the chemical name – (which I didn't know) Ammonium bituminosulfonate 20% And the label has Amber Petrolatum and Anhydrous Lanolin. I wish they would show the Ingredients LABEL for viewing BEFORE ordering. The main reason for the 2 stars is that it has NO SMELL. It has been my experience that all Ichthammol 20% drawing salve that I have ever used (I am over half a century old) has a strong odor. So I have no idea what this is in comparison nor why it doesn't have the smell. So I am returning it mainly because it doesn't smell and I have no knowledge of amber petrolatum or hydrous lanolin.
