First off, this product was shipped to me with every precaution against seepage, spillage or the bottle leaking (see photos). I order a lot online and was very impressed at how the product was packed for shipment. The bottle was encased in a bubble, sealed pack that I had to cut open with scissors to access the 32 ounce bottle. This product contains 1600mg of Glucosamine Hcl, 1200 MG Chondroitin Sulfate and undisclosed amount of HA (Hyaluronic Acid). The formula also contains aloe vera juice, citric acid, potassium sorbate, vegetable glycerin, Stevia and water. There are some cautions such as pregnant or animals intended for breeding that safe use hasn't been proven so read the caution section carefully. For my small dog, the directions stated to shake the product well, and measure out two teaspoons; there is a weight chart to indicate what dosage you should use according to your pet's weight. (Refrigerate after opening the product). I mixed the formula in with my dog's food, and she didn't seem to turn her nose up at her food, she is a very picky eater. I did some research and found that not only would that be expensive and require a course of antibiotics, many people found that the dog's UTI would come right back after they were done. I take care of feral cats and I Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) them in order to decrease the cat population in my neighborhood. When spaying a female cat, you have to keep them for at least 4 days for them to appropriately heal and have the affects of the anesthesia to wear off completely. One of the ferals that I trapped was a skin-and-bones female that was really too young to be having the kitten she was towing around with her. So I trapped her and her only surviving female kitten, had them both fixed and proceeded to "Fatten them up" and have them heal completely. "Under the Weather" Ready-Cal was the perfect supplement to give to both mamma and baby while they healed. I kept mamma in my care for one month because she was so pathetically thin. In that month, Mamma's coat changed from a rusty brown to a glossy black. She gained weight to where you could no longer feel her ribs poking through her fur. She did not like indoor life AT ALL and could not be socialized or handled, so she was released back to her outdoor home. This product literally saved my cats life along with the Blood Sugar gold. I noticed my cat was drinking tons of water, bloated and not walking well due to arthritis. I took him to the vet. Spent 576 dollars to be told he has diabetes, congestive heart failure and arthritis. He is 12 years old and has been a great pet. I started my dog on these drops about a month ago, as we were having trouble with uncontrolled high blood sugar. My 9 lb dachshund mix was on 6 units of novolin N twice a day and had blood sugar staying into the 400 consistently. She also has Cushings disease which she had not been treated for. My Maltese Poodle, who is 12 years old was diagnosed the beginning of December with Diabetes. While I didn't love the smell of this, it fulfilled it's purpose. My significant other I adopted a puppy last summer, and her previous owner clearly made no effort to train her. Got this from Petco and was shocked at how bad it smelled. I read the other reviews and thought maybe it would fade but not only didn't it, the smell was on my hands bec the bottle leaks. The smell of this stuff is absolutely oppressive. Before we even opened the package we could smell it. It's like… stale horse urine that's been roasting in the sun. HOWEVER…. IT REALLY WORKS. I put my two dogs on PROTECT but can't say what its actual effects were. With just one jar, my 6 mo. old French bulldog's slight gas increased immediately. He could clear out a room. MY 8-yr. old Amstaff/Basenji mix with rib bone cancer began eating dirt and eventually developed severe pancreatitis he's still recovering from. I'm on the second tub of Protect and just ordered a third. We had a scare with our 14+ Aussie who developed acute G.I. issues (for the first time ever) after a recent lar par surgery. Max was 1 year old when we adopted him and I realized he had digestive/gut issues. His foster home was feeding him cheap dry food so I gradually switched him to high quality raw food and his condition improved but, he still had occasional mucus and blood and test's didn't show any parasites or infection. On a Friday in Jan 2012 our Beagle, Ben (14), seemed very lathargic. He was still eating but not as much as usual. His current major health issue is arthritis and gets a daily regimen of baby asprin for the pain. I started feeding him rice mixed with some wet dog food and making sure he was offered water a hour or so. On Sat. afternoon we noticed that his stool was a tary black so I thought he must be bleeding inside. He did not have a bowel movement at all on Sunday and we noticed that his gums were very pale so I decided that I needed to take him to the vet on Monday if he did not improve. I was worried that maybe the asprin (1 – 82 mg 2 x a day) may have caused an ulcer hence the bleeding. The VET ran a blood test and took an x-ray on Monday. $300 later His red blood cell count was at 11 and should be in the 35-50 range. So, he was very anemic. His digestive track did not appear to be ruptured but he did have a large mass in his abdomin and his heart seemed enlarged which may mean a mass on his heart, also. The vet suggested a Sonogram to possibly give more internal info. (another $150) and the next step would be to transfer Ben to the nearest Emergency clinic for a blood transfusion which may be another $600-700. Considering Ben's age I decided against the Sonogram and Blood Transfusion so the vet said the alternative would be to put him to sleep because he is very sick. I said "today?" and mentioned that my husband would want to say goodbye. She said okay, take him home for a day and bring him back tomorrow but that I shouldn't wait too long. My husband and decided that as long as he was eating and drinking we were not going to put him to sleep. The vet did not believe he was in pain, just very tired, like he just got over the flu (for example). I did some research on-line that Monday and found this blood and energy supplement. I placed and order, stopped his asprin regimen and fed him med. rare steak and continued rice with soft food over the next couple days while waiting for the supplement to get here. I started him on Blood & Energy by Wed. evening and by Sunday he was making his normal circle around the yard. We were carrying him from the couch to go out and eliminate then he would come right back in. We could not believe we even thought about putting him to sleep. It is now Mid March 2012 and he seems better than he was before and he seems to be shedding less. Dog – 50 pound female GSP with spay incontinence since 6 yrs old (now 10). This product does help reduce incontinence. However, depending on the severity of the incontinence, it may not clear up the problem completely. When incontinence first started, there was leakage several times a day (mostly during rest). After 2 months of use (2 pills/day), this product reached its full effect and leakage reduced in frequency and severity (a few times a week in smaller amounts). She will still leak if she drinks a fair amount of water. My dog generally eats a fresh food based diet. She gets quite a bit of hydration from her food and doesn't drink as much from the water bowl. When her diet becomes more kibble based, she's thirstier and drinks from the water bowl. When she's drinking water, it's a large amount over a short time. Shortly after drinking is when she tends to leak. Dog has been on synthetic hormone DES before which works great (maintenance dose of 1 mg pill/week). There's controversy over DES and it's not for every dog. Bladder Strength along with frequent potty breaks (after she drinks) keeps the problem in check enough to not require her DES prescription to be renewed. My dog doesn't mind the taste and eats them like a treat.eaelms

My dog was not leaking or having accidents, she just suddenly needed to urinate at around 5 in the morning, instead of the normal 9 or 10 o'clock time, and also had to go more often than normal. My Vet did a Urinalysis, bloodwork, X-rays, and Ultrasound and everything was perfect, so I researched the issue and found this supplement. I'm unsure of how well this product works mainly because I found my dog did not like taking it. I did not find it to dissolve well in his water and he did not want to drink his water with the packet mixed in it. Then I tried sprinkling it on his food which he ate but a large amount of the packet just settled on the bottom. I think you almost need to have moist food for it to stick. The little bit I got into him did not seem to make any difference but I know he didn't get their recommended amount and I did not get a lot days with him actually consuming it. I might try to administer it with moist food if he seems to have some digestive issues come up. For now, I didn't find the product to be either helpful or bad. The Tomlyn Pre & Probiotic supplement is a water soluble powder that mixes in with your dogs food or water. This product comes with 30 individually wrapped packets that contain a really, really fine white powder. I like that it is ground really fine because it makes it easier to mix. The only downside to that is that it can puff/smoke up if you are too heavy handed when pouring the product from the packaging. my vet and i found this product while looking up options to help my 15+ year senior cat who struggled with chronic constipation for years. x-rays showed he was borderline megacolon but not quite. a low fiber diet and osmotic laxatives like miralax helped, but didn't provide full relief and it was easy to over- or under-dose the miralax. prn cisapride also helped, but it was just a bandaid on the larger problem. he wasn't dehydrated and his diet includes canned food with extra water to support his old kidneys. more accurately, we first found a veterinary research article about SLAB-15, a probiotic blend that showed clinically significant reduction in cat constipation and diarrhea. the combination of probiotic bacterial species in the tomlyn pre- and probiotic comes the closest to SLAB-15 of anything we could find that was also easy to purchase regularly. i've been using this product for a few months and am over the moon with how well it alleviates my senior cat's GI symptoms. he's much more comfortable now that he's not bloated, no longer strains to defecate, and no longer needs laxatives or cisapride. the powder has no smell or flavor. it dissolves well in water and i mix it into his wet food, but the powder is fine enough to shake and coat his dry food without him noticing (or at least he doesn't care). yes, this is the dog version of the product, but formula-wise, the dog and cat versions are exactly the same. with the dog version, you get twice as much product for the same price. it also seems that the dog version is the only one ever on sale. just note that the dog sachets are 2g and the cat sachets are 1g, so a cat would get half the 2g dog packet per day. it works out to about 1/2 tsp per day, or 1/4 tsp 2x day.sfaust

Both of our cats have tried this probiotic/prebiotic powder and have no trouble eating it as long as we mix it with wet food, which we normally don't buy for them. When mixing it with dry food, the powder just settles to the bottom of the bowl. My primary reason for choosing this powder was due to adopting a second cat, a young stray who was having loose stools. Our older cat was not having any issues. By the time I was able to try the powder, the new cat was no longer having the loose stools. He did throw up his dry food a couple of times, which we thought was due to eating too fast. Since trying the powder he has not thrown up. Was this due to the powder, I can't say for sure. I'm giving the powder 4 stars because the cats are tolerating it well and it seems to have helped with the younger cat. I've been using product for about a week. The product comes with a small scoop to measure amount to put on food according to pet weight. It is a pretty good sized container. It says it's tasteless. The product dissolves instantly on wet food. I'm sure if you sprinkle it on a small amount of kibble and stir well your pet would eat it. The product changed my cats stool from light tan to a darker brown but hasn't changed his loose stool consistency. I will be honest and say I have used many products trying to get my cats stool to a normal consistency so this product may work very well for your pet. It would probably be worth a try.tiger

My poor old cat was having problems with his bowel movements. His stools were too soft and kind of runny. When I received Fera Probiotics Prebiotics I checked the ingredients and saw that there seemed to be lots of fiber per scoop. The fiber was my main objective. My cat is over 15 pounds so I gave him a full scoop every morning in his favorite wet cat food. Within 4 days, his stools had firmed up a lot. My cat is 12.5 years old and not very energetic, he mostly just lays around during the day, so I can't say there was any change in his overall behavior. He seemed a bit more content in the evenings when we sat together to watch TV. I am thinking that he might have been having a bellyache before I started giving him this product. I am going to keep him on this product for three reasons, 1. he seems to like it, 2. cleaning his litter box is much easier with firmer stools. 3. my granddaughter has gut problems and she uses probiotics for bloating, so I think that may have been part of my cat's problem too. These are awesome! My dog has always had digestive issues and it’s something that seems to help ease his upset stomach. He eats them everyday when it’s meal time and think they’re treats. It’s so easy to give him and it doesn’t feel like he’s getting “medicine”mattie.m

I ask him a question about probiotics, he immediately start talking to me rude and then when I try to explain him what’s goin on what the issue I have I that time he was like I don’t understand what you saying like my man in what part of world that he lives that he didn’t understand a simple question and start talking rude, well after that he was looking for someone that speak Spanish because I’m what he understood he didn’t understand what I was trying to asking him. I probably don’t know perfect English but come one you don’t need to be a scientist to understand simple questions, from the first time to the end even when I was paying at the counter he was acting rude, which I don’t get it cuz it was my first time visiting that store, also another think I heard him saying when he was talking with the girl that he get to help me in Spanish cuz in his mind he said he don’t understand me he was talking to her and then she ask him what did he needs then he said I don’t now asking and then I ask her which food is better for my franch bulldog and then she ask him and he told her I don’t know depends on what he got on his packet like trying to saying I can’t afford a 60 dollar of bag which I end spending 114. Well the lady was very patient with me and nice she helps me a lot but like I said that god was judging me because at that moment I couldn’t maybe explain what I really want, I think those type of people that treat other people like that shouldn’t be working in such a nice place, because if he didn’t feel comfortable where he work at just get another job.Rare world

I read tons of reviews on multiple sites and decided to try these on my dogs. These legit work!!! My dogs(we have 5) had a bad can of stress diarrhea for a week from moving to a new home. It was awful!!! After taking these chews for 2 days there has been a major improvement. They are almost 100% back to normal. My senior Labrador who had it the worst made the biggest turnaround. I have heard that these papaya tablets are great for rabbits when they're having upset tummies. As rabbits are prone to GI stasis, I always have these on hand. I give it them after they've been introduced a new food, had one slice too much of banana, or generally when I feel like they could use some digestive health. These are treats so rabbits shouldn't have too much (1-2 / day).Bee

I bought these chews for my aunt's 9 year old German Shepherd. She used to buy him human probiotic because he would refuse to take any probiotic made for the dogs. These chews must taste pretty good because he keeps begging for more. So far his constipation improved and he seems to have more energy .Jaja

All 3 of my dogs approve. We give these everyday to our oldest 2 dogs. No real help problem for either dog. I know probiotics are a good supplement and now that 2 of them are getting older I thought it would be a good idea to start.
