I have an 11 pound puppy that was just spayed. So I purchased this to keep her from licking her incision site as she was able to get out of her ecollar and chew it up. What I liked about this pro collar is that her view wasn't obstructed and that she wasn't running in to my walls, furniture etc. she also seemed to be more comfortable in it. What is unfortunate is that she was still able to reach her incision site to lick if she really tried. I can really see this product working on a larger dog that has longer distance between their mouth and site of incision as not only would I need a larger pro collar and the dog would have to really bend farther to reach the incision. This is why I gave it three stars and not a 1 star. I don't see it working in situations where incisions are on limbs and such. So for instance, if my long 80 pound lab needed to have surgery on his belly or torso area I would purchase this again because he will have a longer distance to reach than my tiny flexible puppy. I have this collar. I used it last year when one of my girls had a lump removed from her chest. It was so much more comfortable for her to sleep in that a cone. She was able to see, eat, drink and do pretty much anything while wearing it. I just pulled it out again because my other girl had a cancer lump removed from her armpit area. I have Dachshunds so no cone stops them from licking if they have an injury lower than their midsection. But this worked wonders for both when the injury was on the chest and waist area. Some tips.. 1. It does require a collar to be attached to the inside loops to keep it securely on your dog. You can't just Velcro it on their neck or your dog will probably find a way to take it off pretty quickly. Also, make sure the ends of the tube are touching when you Velcro it or your dog can get around it to chew. 2. Make sure it id inflated enough. If it is not, your dog will get it off. 3. If your dog has an injury that is lower than waist area, it may not be enough to keep them from reaching that area.lilys mama
I've now purchased this twice for my cat when she had minor surgery and it has been a complete godsend. My cat was so stressed out with the cone because it significantly impaired visibility and didn't allow use of her whiskers. She was constantly stressed and trying to hide in the darkest, tiniest, craziest spaces, and would get stuck with the cone and unable to get out or move. Poor kitty. 🙁 She has a history of being bullied by other animals she lived with before we rescued her, and while she is usually very comfortable in our home, she was so scared and stressed from being unable to assess her surroundings and move around freely. Before we knew about the collar we tried a soft cone (didn't help) and two kinds of bandages (didn't stop her from picking at the wound anyway). Then we found ProCollar (the 2nd one we bought is called ZenCollar but it looks/functions the same) and it was such a lifesaver! Once we put this on her, she became almost instantly more relaxed and back to the sweet and loving cat we knew. I am so thankful somebody thought of this idea and made it!!! The idea of my poor cat being stressed out for two weeks (while probably in pain and not feeling good during recovery) made me so sad. This was exactly as described. I really like the quick release. Makes it much easier to put on and take off my dog. We were unable to walk our dog before this collar. He would pull to the point of choking himself out. We tried several collars and harnesses before going with the Prong collar. It took a couple of days to get him used to wearing the collar. I didn't think this would work on the 1st day. He pulled hard and it pinched him. He got scared and refused to move. We were patient worked with him slowly, 5 minutes at a time. I had high hopes for this collar as my older dog has a chronic condition and we are all very tired of his cone bumping into all of us and the whole house, and so is he. But, despite measuring and it appearing to fit exactly as described in the instructions, he had NO TROUBLE getting to the growth on his underside. Complete waste of time and money. Whistle used to have a useful health tracker, but they changed it such that it provides little useful information now. The tracker itself is horrible, and causes more problems than it’s worth. I only really use it when we’re hiking off leash. It takes longer than 30 minutes to connect when I’m trying to find the location of my dog, regardless of whether he’s out of sight or nearby and I see him. And there are plenty of cell towers nearby. One time it did connect and it — falsely — told me he was in the middle of a highway, and I almost caused an accident trying to find him. I since inferred this was false because another time it told me he was 1 mile away, in the middle of the Mississippi River, about 5 seconds after I saw him near me. I have had whistles for several years on several dogs, the classic box shaped health + GPS unit has always worked great. When the dog is away from home it updates frequently even in areas with low cell service. I have had two of these health + GPS + units that have the switchable batteries. Neither have worked. They very rarely alert that the dog has left the home area and even when they do, they are unable to track the dog at all. Even on an hour long hike, it never finds the dog even though there are several dogs wearing classic whistles that are operating perfectly. I live in an area that has about 2 bars of cellular service. This may be the problem but that is common around here and in many rural areas. Some of the health features do work but I buy these units to keep track of my dog and these don’t do that. Get the classic box shaped unit, they’re great. Also, the size guide says these switch units fit on very small dogs and cats. They absolutely do not. I have a 21 pound beagle and the switch was completely unusable on her. The classic unit is a little big but works for sure. The switch did fit my 50ish pound lab border collie mix very well. Whistle, if you are listening, the switchable batteries are a good idea but this design doesn’t work. Design something different and stop selling it, it doesn’t work. I don’t know who needs to hear this at your company but don’t sell things that don’t work. Also, fix your size recommendations for it, they are misleading and wrong.
The data collected about my 2 dogs’ health and activity is great. So far we haven’t received any false notifications about them leaving the zone, which was a problem with the Go. And when one of them took off recently while we were far from home, the location tracker was great and more frequently updated than our old Go models. This was true even in close range when she was hiding in the woods nearby in a very rural area of northern NH. My biggest complaint is the collar itself. With the switch, we cannot choose our own collar. Our dogs are both on the low end of the size, which means a constantly floppy end. The larger dog tries to grab her sister’s collar when they wrestle, which is dangerous. And the two small plastic pieces for holding it in place don’t stay put for more than 5 min. It’s driving us bonkers and we are looking for hacks to keep it in place. Also, the metal grommets already look loose after only a month of use. I’m worried about them giving way. Our lab/retriever cross became frightened of loud noises, using the collar has steadily improved the situation. It doesn't work immediately, be patient for a week or even two. A noise de-sensitisation CD (follow the instructions exactly) will also help considerably. Just check the tightness of the collar every few days because some dogs will scratch at it and can occasionally loosen it slightly – when cutting off the excess length leave an inch so that it doesn't fall off if the dog does scratch at it (they soon stop).Nicholas J

During the summer months I start with a shedding blade, then move to the Furminator deShedding tool. My dog is only 34 pounds, but his undercoat has an undercoat, which has an undercoat of its own. He's a Husky / German Spitz / Spaniel mix (mostly Spitz, thus the size). I can shed him for hours and still pull hair off of him. While this tool doesn't make short work of the job, it Does keep the hair together so I don't have to chase poofs around the yard. I also like the fact that it trims the undercoat so when the weather is confused he still has some insulation against the cold.It's an easy tool to use and while it does have a little bit of drag to it Momo doesn't seem to be bothered one bit. When I go over the same area for too long he'll shift his weight and that's when I know I was a little overzealous and it's time to move to a new section. The tool is especially nice for his mantle. It leaves the top hair long and pretty while thinning out the fluffy stuff underneath.
I had no clue what was under the surface of my dogs coat! My pit bulls dogs both have short-coarse hair and you really wouldn’t even think that it was a lot until they start seasonally shedding and their is HAIR EVERYWHERE!!! I have a 60 pound white boxer with short fur that sticks to and in everything. It really pours off of him like a waterfall anytime someone goes in for pets. I'm honestly surprised he's not bald with the rate he loses fur. I'll admit that I rarely brush him to begin with, so I am convinced that any sort of regular brushing would have been effective in managing his fur waterfall. But, I do believe the Furminator does a great job in getting the undercoat, especially at this time of year (late spring/early summer). The Furminator has changed by brushing habits for two reasons- 1. My dog seems to love it, and I can tell the daily brushings are effective. We collect less fur each day. 2. The guilt I have over spending $35 on a comb forces me to use it, thus establishing effective grooming habits. It has been the only tool that has caused me to stick to a routine. Solid brush, very well built, effective for short haired dogs, the click-to-cleanout feature is great. Four stars ONLY because it does a fantastic job of loosening fur, but doesn't always remove it from my dog. I make him do zoomies around the yard to get the free floaters off.AllieCamp

I honestly don't know what we'd do without this collar. My lab Ivy loves to run and explore on the trails by our house, but when we get near the end of our "walk", she has a tendency to continue ahead of me and wander the neighborhood. She responded immediately to one of the lower shock settings on the collar the first time I used it. After that, no shock was needed. Now she just needs to have the collar on to stay close by – occasionally she gets distracted and does not come immediately when called, but with the "beep", she immediately comes. We have only used the shock that one time. Ivy gets much more exercise now since she can be off leash, and I can enjoy our walks. As a bonus, this collar and remote are very sleek – Ivy and I are by far the most stylish on the trail.
I'm personally somewhat new to the world of 'balanced' training, as I've only worked within positive reinforcement boundaries up until now. I picked these collars because I have all of the faith in Eufy/Anker brand. I'm very satisfied with the collars – they appear well made and charging with USB-C should be a snap (I haven't tried yet, however). The collars seem very comfortable for my two dogs (45lbs and 55lbs). I love that the electrodes are covered in silicone – seems much more comfortable than bare metal. Of course, I decided to risk turning myself into a meme to see how the shock feels before potentially using it on my dogs. I couldn't feel levels 1-3; 4 was a small tingle; 5 was 'omg did I stick my finger into an electrical socket?!' Even at five, it wasn't painful – just a visceral recoil. Fortunately, my dogs have only required the sound/vibration. I'm hoping to never use the shock, of course, but it's nice to know I have it. The remote is handy and a good size, but I have discovered the buttons are perhaps more sensitive than necessary. The remote slipped into the couch once and I accidentally buzzed my dogs; another time, I had it in my hand and accidentally buzzed them when I was trying to hold onto something else at the same time. Overall, I'm quite pleased. My learning curve is changing the settings on the remote to switch between the dogs or to set it to catch both at the same time. Also, I wish the vibrate had the ability to choose between one correction (ideally) or two (how it works currently). As far as training, I've begun giving my dogs a command just once and if they don't listen, they get buzzed (I choose not to use the sound because it would be correcting both dogs each time when most corrections are to one dog). The dogs are listening somewhat better in the first week of owning these, so I feel encouraged. Balance is the key to happiness.
We are part of a dog parent group that is always seeking recommendations for great products to assist with training. I really like this collar for its ease of setting up and how stylish it is. This is actually the more attractive collars we have tried out and I am a bit jealous I didn't try it sooner. The remote is small and fits conveniently in your palm. Paired with positive reinforcement, this collar is a great tool and a no brainer for us to recommend. Our golden would not be as well trained without an E collar and responded well to his new collar.

This might be the single most useful pet purchase I've ever made. I was skeptical at first, it doesn't look like it will do much but it really works very well. Make sure you gather the loose fur as you go and scrunch it into a pile. We have 2 German Shepherds that got regular brushings with a normal pin brush which did get some of the loose fur but nothing like this tool. Now I groom them twice a week with this tool and it gets 95% of the loose fur, plus my dogs really enjoy it. If I'm grooming one dog the other will come over and sit down to wait for his turn. I only wish I'd taken a chance on this sort of tool sooner. If your dog has a double coat this tool is a must.jaketh
